So I'm really tired of seing almost nothing at night with the sucky stock headlights..and the jdm projectors are just too expensive (for me anyway).
I decided to retrofit some oem projector inside the stock housing, I dont know how much the frosting on the lens will affect the output but it cannot be worst for sure! So far I dont know which projectors to use but I like the output of the Sonata's projectors, they looks really good too at night! Very bright... http://cgi.ebay.ca/02-05-HYUNDAI-SONATA-HE...1QQcmdZViewItem Those are too expensive, but its just to show. I wonder if theres better option though, its easy to find HID projector but halogen are more rare... -------------------- ![]() -Rémy 02 SiR, 08 250R |

Im not sure it would be worth the money and effort to do that... and the stock housing does a great job of deflecting the light

It will be atleast 2x worse when it is now with the projector inside and frosted glass outside.

Well the frosted lens is to diffuse the light..the pattern itself is made by the reflectors, Im pretty sure theres is going to be an improvement, even though it would be small

QUOTE(Rayme @ Jan 13, 2007 - 10:00 AM) Well the frosted lens is to diffuse the light..the pattern itself is made by the reflectors, Im pretty sure theres is going to be an improvement, even though it would be small Wrong. The frosted lense is to MAKE the matern, remove it and you will see what the reflector will give you just a simple dot of light. If you put the projector under the fronsted glass, you will get nothing better, it will be even worse, cuz projectors already have a cut off pater and you can imagine what will happen if you aint put the projector in the right place (the center of the frosted lense), the light will be disperced randomly giving you even worse cut off and worse patern. If you wanna blow money - just go ahead and do this. IMHO instead blowing $ and amount of work - just start saving and get the JDM's. Rework them to RHD and you will have the perfect light source. If it was like you where saing - reflectors create the patern and lense diffuse it - we would have the clear lense. Belive me - im not trying to dich you or somehow distract you from your idea - im just trying to save you from unnecessary amount of work and $. Been there - done that... Better learn from some one else mistakes. -------------------- Ex celica owner - just a guy from other side of the pond...
