 s-10 beater short |

i have an 01 s-10 as a winter vehivcle and recently it has been making a whining type of noise through the speakers. then all of a sudden yesterday morning i went to go warm the truck up and there was no juice to the battery. something is draining it. so i jumped it and went to work and when i came out to work it was dead again. the alternator is pumping out 14 volts. but it feels like something is robbing all of my battery juice. i'm gonna go pull the neg batt terminal and hook up a test light between it and see if i can track down the short bt pulling fuses. any other ideas. can the aleternator be stealing back the juice?
