I know that doGGy had some a while back but I can't find the pics anywhere. I did some myself for my 7th gen when I had it. The process is pretty easy and looks nice if you do it right, but I don't think it would look that good on a 6th gen. The rings would have to be pretty large in diameter
Edit: I found the pics. There's a tutorial posted up on 6gc in the tutorials section and I just remembered that. Anyway, heres a pic of doGGy's car ![]() And a tutorial link: http://www.6gc.net/index.php?action=howto&itu=57 Oh and some more info. For power what I did was tap into the power wire that runs to the side markers. That way your angel eyes will turn on when you turn on the driving lights. And then just ground the LED's to the Chassis. I used two white LED's for each ring and it came out pretty bright. They look nice in the morning when its kinda muggy outside or on a cloudy day. On a sunny day you can't see anything PS: Jaws if you want some help doing this I've done it before and would be glad to help out -Rob This post has been edited by RbrtNdrws: Feb 14, 2007 - 11:50 AM -------------------- ![]() |

Ok cool. Just wondering, did doggy have stock head light lenses on his highs, or something clear?

With jdms though, the actual ring itself will also be more visible (in the daylight). You would need some way to "blend/hide" the ring in the housing, you wouldnt be able to just stick it in there.
Does anyone have any pics of angels in jdm highs? Or has anyone done angels into jdm highs? This post has been edited by 6gsillyca: Feb 15, 2007 - 2:22 AM |

Theres a pic of my 7th gen with my angel eyes. I thought that I'd share that pic since the lenses are clear and that pic is in moderate lighting. I would think that they would be a bit more noticeable on the 6th gen JDM highs since the housing is so shiny, but it wouldn't look terrible as long as you make a clean install -------------------- ![]() |

Look what I got
![]() I spent forever trying to find these rods. If anyone wants to know, try Home Depot first. Lowe's, Wal-Mart, and Target didn't have them. I already cut them to length so now I'm gonna bend them all into rings -Rob -------------------- ![]() |

Me and my friend (I'm trying to get him to register on the site, even though he doesnt have a celi, so he will post pics and a vid) made some this weekend and they came out really well. I'm gonna make some more then put them on my car this week probably. I got a couple of questions for people who already have them installed though.
Do cops mess with you? (especially if you have blue ones) Do you use the same glue that was on the headlight to reseal them, or something new? Where do you get the brightest white LED's? What diameter did you make the rings? -Thanks for all your help |

What diameter did you make the rings? -Thanks for all your help 1- Not sure if cops in your area will, but mine don't like blue lights so I used white LED's when I had these on my 7th gen. 2- To reseal them look at the tutorial on this site. doGGy suggests heating them up again to help the glue melt and reseal the lights. I haven't tried that yet. 3- I'm thinking about ordering them from superbrightleds.com. They have pretty good prices. 4- As for size heres a picture of the ones I made... The diameter of the ring is around 4.5 inches. ![]() Got angel eyes? Lol, I decided to make a bunch while I'm at it. ![]() I made 5 sets. One set's for me and one im making for Jaws. I was going to make one for easternpiro but it looks like he's already cooking up his own batch ![]() Theres a close up of one of the rings. I'm making these pretty slowly because I'm using a pocket knife to make the cuts in the ring. I think it looks better than using a dremel but it takes longer. Let me know what you think -Rob This post has been edited by RbrtNdrws: Feb 19, 2007 - 10:49 AM -------------------- ![]() |

The reflective tape helps a lot. The difference was crazy after we put reflective tape on. All the spots that were dim turned super bright.
I think I'm just gonna go with white LED's then. Thats what I was thinking with the glue and then maybe use clear caulk just to be safe. We got red streetglow LED's from Meijer that had the transister already built in which makes things a little easier, but they didnt have any white so I'll probably use the super bright site. Thanks. We used a dremel, but pocket knife looks real nice. They look nice so far, good luck with them. This post has been edited by aslearvert: Feb 19, 2007 - 11:07 AM |

what size LED did you order
i use 5mm LED which is kinda too big for the rod, when you drill in order to fit it most the time you will get a crack and chipping of the rod before you ever get the LED in cause drilling for 5mm is nearly as thick as the rod. so there are fun molding technique to make it work well good luck with yours also what tape are you using, where are you putting it and are you sure it won't melt off due to headlight heat? |
