I was saving up for a beams until this caught my eye.
is this any good, it seems cheap and since theres more parts available for this engine than a beams.

That motor is really sketchy....it has no turbo, is lacking an oil cap and looks like its been ravaged by whoever had their hands on it last.

For that price you really aren't getting very much, just a long block that might be OK, but by the looks of things you'd be much better off looking elsewhere. The more complete you can get, the less of a headache you'll face down the road.

I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.

not on the st215. the exhaust manifold and turbine housing are cast as one piece.

this one looks to be much better for not too much more st215

Its really has no benefits over a 3rd gen, it's not really as plug and play since you can get a ST205 motor that came in our chassis.

Either way, this motor is not worth looking at.....trust me. Keep looking and you'll find a much better, more complete motor.

I got a 4th gen 3SGTE St215 and I'm curently swapping it in my ST184. I upgraded my turbo to a T3/T4 unit. To do this, I used a ST205 SSAC exhaust manifold, a modified SSAC downpipe, and the XS-power T3/T4 adaptor with a 38 mm wastegate flange. Everything is fine, but the downpipe is really near the radiator and the turbo compressor outlet too. I'll need to buy some slim fan (if you can post a link to a good slim fan, you will help me a lot).

I'll post pics of the swap when It will be complete. Maybe next week.

Thanks

Sam

FYI there's no real 4th gen 3sgte. It's just a 3rd gen with a few exterior mods. If it were a true 4th gen it would have vvt-i

I think it's silly to make an issue about the ST215 3SGTE not being the 4th gen. I mean, the ST165 has the 1st gen, the ST185 has the 2nd gen, the ST205 has the 3rd gen, and the ST215 has the 4th gen. Each engine is by and large the same, but there are differences between each of them. The 4th gen has a LARGE air/air intercooler, coil on plug ignition, it's OBD2, side-feed intake manifold, one piece exhaust manifold/turbine housing, makes a different hp rating, etc. There are enough differences to classify it as a new generation, I don't see why it shouldn't be known as the 4th Gen.

Um - my Caldina clip specifically said 4th Gen 3S-GTE on the tag. IDK who put that there but chances are they know more about it than you do Celicaguy13 seing as how all they do is import JDM motors.

While I do agree it's a 4th gen, what it says on the tag means absolutely nothing.
I have been sold an RC set as an ST205 set.
Being a JDM engine importer doesn't mean much or take much, other than ambition and some $$$$$.
