i found these two rings on my shocks when I took the rear off.... does it belong there? and where does it go?? there's one on each... where does it go?

those are the bearings, they go under the hat or mount

lol, I ran into the same problem. My friend starting taking my rears apart for me and didn't really pay attention but we put it on top of the tophat so it sits in between the tophat and the topnut.

Mine was exactly the way you just described it..on top of the hat and just below the nut. Thats the way it was put together when I took it apart. I just did my suspension over the weekend (TRD springs) and so far I haven't had any problems. -------------------- 3sgteing.

Ok, yeah I was pretty sure we put it back together the way it came off. Thanks for backing that up. My only thing is that I've had some noises back there now, I might just need to tighten the topnut some more.
