What would you do in this position??, religous belifes... Options

So im in school right now for automotive. My class is 21 people, 19 of which are guys. We have 2 girls. One of them happens to be extreamly extreamly religous. Like wears "have you found jesus" and "the lord is my savior" t-shirts daily. Any ways, working in a shop with mainly guys, we swear and cuss and stuff when we are working. Any guy who has had to work on somethin that wasnt easy to work on or has hurt them selves working on somethin knows about this. Any ways, so the other day i bashed my knuckels..

thats after a week of healing. I took a good chunk out of the top join of my middel finger too. It was alot worse when it happened

back on topic, when i did this i yelled out "GOD F*CKING DAMNIT!!!"..mainly cuz it hurt like hell. Any ways, this girl has givin me sh*t b4 about "taking the lords name in vain". I personaly am not religous in the slightest, havent been since i was 11. So because i said that, she yelled at me for half an hour straight about how "even though i dont belive in god, i should respect other peoples religons". Im totaly ok with that, but she honestly expects that every person in my class or in any shop ever is never gonna say "god damnit" or "jesus christ". So she got so offended by me smacking my knuckels that she actually went to the head of our department and b*tched at him for an hour, and is not trying to make it so that if we say that we are gonna get kicked out of class for the rest of the day. Heres the majour downside to this all, the head of our program and the teacher we had that day are both big on religion too. So now they are trying to force religous belifes on us and addapt our lives to what they want because of their relgion. Personaly as some one who is not religous in the slightest, i think its great for any one to belive in any thing they want, but am offended by them trying to force their belifes onto me. I know its nothing big, but I personaly hate HATE when people try and change who i am and try and force their belifes on me. Like i mean ok, if it was just me cussing once or twice she gave me crap, i would be ok with it, but its when she goes to try and make it so that we are kicked out of class, like we are in grade 3, thats where it crosses the line. Like she actually yelled at me one day saying i was supporting satan and demonic worshipings because my InFlames t-shirt had their deamon logo.

Any ways, im out of ideas of what to do, mainly cuz i dont wanna come off as a complete ass or offend her more than i already have. Like Im a nice guy, but i come off as a jack ass alot of the time. I mean, im ok with religon and peoples belifes, my girlfriend is a devote Catholic, but it just irretates me when people try and change my belifes or force theirs on me.

OK I grew up going to church and my family are still big Christians. I don't go to church these days but I still live by the beliefs that I was brought up with.

In my opinion that girl is totally right - the catch is that the way she is handling things is totally wrong

I prefer it if people don't swear and if they are Christians then I will have a go at them about it. But if a non-Christian swears then it doesn't bother me. You can't go around expecting people to change the way they are for no reason and trying to force people like she is will simply end up having the opposite effect.

And fair enough if you had sworn for no reason her point may become slightly more valid but come on - after gouging his hand in automotive class I would say it's almost a man's right to let loose some words

Although I am currently in the process of converting to Catholicism, that kind of thing would really agitate me. Freedom of speech, freedom of religion. Dude, I am religious and yet I don't try to change. The Lord is greater than all, and if it is necessary that I change, then He Himself will make that happen. Being Christian (or anything else for that matter) doesn't make you perfect, and there are many levels of which people are on. Those who go out of their way to correct you, are doing so for one of two reasons. One, that they care about you and would like to see you on the "Right" path. I was lead to believe in God from a young boy, but I strayed.. I got into witchcraft and other things. Refused to believe in God and put down all things religious. Then I began to have my revelations sent to me through my dreams. The visions I had both asleep and awake. God called out to me over time, and I was reminded of the odd things that took place in the past, that I questioned. Sorry, I strayed from my points. This is about you. Okay, so the other reason why they hit you up for correcting you is because (To remind you of the first reason, it is because they care about you. If it is a girl, then she likes you, but needs you to be equal to her, because religion is a huge part of her life, I will explain why this is important after this point). AHEM! Okay, the second reason is because they are up their @$$es! Looking for anyone to make an example of, to show how far they progressed and how much better they are.

Take the Pharisees from the Bible. They were people who earned this title. Once they got the title, they felt better than those who were below them. They forgot what they were. That is HUMAN. To be human is to error. Life is at a fine balance, and you cannot obtain "Perfect" but you can practice it. Such as Faith, Hope and Love. You cannot say "I have Love and it is going no where", because many things can happen. You can lose all of these, but the only way to obtain them, is to practice them. So, if the girl is trying to get you to come to God, perhaps she has an interest in you. The reason why it is important and why it is mostly successful to have God the main factor in your marriage is because, rather than seek Dr. Phill, or any human for that matter to get advice for the marriage...... You have God. So who counsels your marriage when the happiness doesn't last? The Bible. The one thing that you both built your life on. The reason why marriages are taken place in church is to receive God's blessing. So He can make it work.

Aside from all this, I have had many experiences that make me a firm believer. But I do not try to change anyone, I only offer advice to those who ask. At any rate, if you have any questions, feel free to ask. As for the Libido of christian women? Very Strong! Imagine holding out for so long. Even if they are not pure... It is not wrong, the Song of Solomon answers most questions of a young man, that he would ask himself about a woman who lives her life for God. uhh whats this chick going to do when shes actually working in a real shop and the guys have the nudie pics up of girls?? i grew up my whole life in garages and shops (lol u wouldnt know it by my mechanical skills) and its just a part of shops. its a locker room! nudie pics, machines, swearing, etc. this chick needs to realize its the real world not lil house on the prarie. all you can do is tell people that you dont like what they do and would appreciate it if they didnt and if they continue then you just let it go.

i say with her you just take her a side and tell her that you see where she is coming from and that ur not religious but respect her beliefs but she needs to respect the fact that you both are very different and you will try to meet her in the middle and not use the lords name but you a swear word may come out of your mouth

well I use the term "church" to basically preaching as a pastor would with theyre sermons... Thats what you dont see in schools... But TEACHING I think when it comes to religion is completely different from preaching. Your learning about the religion but you obviously arent practicing it by any means... or being forced to for that matter.

Thats why I dont see it as big of a deal in schools because your just going over lil general stuff about multiple religions. Your not even really going into deep deep detail about them either. Teachers arent throwing religion in your face like youd see at church... at least lets hope not anyways... I personally think church should stay as far away from schools as for lessons go.

Some of you guys forget what this country was founded upon. Sure it doesn't last today, but there was a time when the world seemed right, that people actually had morals. Wether you believe or not doesn't matter. Some of you out there have this liberal mentality that says "Do what you want, so long as it isn't hurting anyone else". But what about those who care for you? Those who want you to be doing good. Who can argue that what is in the Bible is not morally beneficial to us all as a thriving society? If you want to get into philosophy..... Please save it. Everyone has a philosophy, although I have seen people get so wrapped up in it..... They reminded me of a child who never settled for an answer, but just keep asking why as if only to be annoying. People do have a choice, although, when was the last time you loved something so much, that to see others go against it, it broke your heart? When was the last time you found something worth living for, and devoted your life souly to it, no matter how hard it was? If you hadn't noticed, I was speaking in past tense, because this is not a short term goal for these religious people. Yes, they are no different from you and I, although both sides should be respected. Just keep in mind, that not everyone can be satisfied, and all sides have to sacrifice a little, to comprise and co-exist. The world is governed by Balance. People need to understand that. There is no tipping of the scales here. We can't all plant trees, and make the world a better place. Some things have to just be. Therefore the source of true happiness is being Content. And I just rambled on a grip. Sorry guys. I am going to go back to my car now............ I feel strange now..........

If u think about why did people even come to America? 2 be free and 2 be able to priase whatever that want. We are free, so we can choose to have no morals if we want. Its a college. nothing like a catholic school or any thing. its a public college..we have people of like every race and religon there too, but yet somehow christianity is somethin that sticks out alot. Even weirder is that 1/3rd of the city i live in are arabic and most people are muslem.

And NO!!!! shes not hot, so dont ask. Shes like 4'11, 80lbs, and her eyes are sunk back into her head. It looks like some one punched her in the eye and colapsed her skull. Its pretty gross looking. But NO SHE ISNT HOT IN THE SLIGHTEST.

Apparently she is in that one form of chrisitani where the people think they can speak in tounges and think that because a preist or what ever hits them on the head and says "THE POWER OF GOD!" they are cured of every thing. Like thouse adds you see on tv at 1 in the mornin where people send $25 for a "prayer cloth"...she apparently bought one. But yea, people who go to these kinds of churches are very strange. My roomate's ex was like that and he went..she was "speaking in tounges" and had all of her knee pain cured *shes apparently had bad knees since she was 12 cuz of dancing*, and she stopped seeing my roomate because she said that shes sined with him because they had pre-marital sex. Now she told me she wont even look or talk to my room mate because when ever she does she gets indecent thoughts, which are sins, and is going against god.....

This is why i dont get religion. People go so out of left feild and do crazy things because of it.

Im off school untill monday, but then im gonna talk 2 my buddy, who is the class rep, and get him to talk to the head of the department and the founder of our section of the school.

to answer the question : what would i do in this situation?: - i would say this next time she said anything about it "well i respect your opinion but you also need to respect mine because i am a human being and i have the same rights as you = freedom of speech! and i am not directly trying to offend you in any way or trying to make you be a certain way, unlike you are. so my suggestion to you miss is to grow up and realize that not everyone will agree with you and that you are one of many in this world just as i am, you are no one special just as i am so get off of your high horse and come back down to reality...me saying god dammit offends you, well you saying that i CAN'T say it offends me." something like that, and by the way if you are religious and are reading this i mean no disrespect to you and i have no problem with your religion..what i have a problem with is ignorant people that are apart of a religion that teaches love and peace and that type of deal but as soon as something or someone opposes them, is different, or does not agree with their beliefs they do what this girl did....

or you could dress up in all black with eyeliner on and listen to death metal near her....that would get a reaction out of her
