sweet if it was meant for tracks. if it's DD, it'll suck especially on bumpy highways. a/c and stereo optional? wtf? but yea.. it's an awesome ride.. biggrin.gif

From my understanding its weight reduction is only 90LBS for the whole car...thats not very good.

I would hope to see more weight reduction closer to 300lbs..500 would be AMAZING. I also expected to see more hp from the motor, maybe closer to 250 if not 270hp at the crank..idk, i guess it depends on price really. If its like $500 more then the regular s2k then cool, but if its like 5k more...ha, the suspension work better be HELLYA good.

I'd like to see lap times from both the CR and standard s2k in 1/4 mile, and road course to see the REAL differences.

from another article about the CR:
QUOTE
It is significantly faster on a track, according to Honda
The result of these changes is a claimed two-second reduction in the S2000 CR’s lap time around Honda’s Tochigi test track. That’s a huge difference; you could add 50 horsepower to a regular S2000 and you might not see your lap time drop that much.

imo, now that the CR doesn't have the soft top, and A/C and stereo package are now optional (not standard, to save weight), bigger and stickier tires, stiffer suspension, same hp rating and nearly the same weight (seeing that there's no soft top and a/c), etc etc... it's not something to go crazy over.. i mean, just about anyone with a standard s2k hardtop can do the same with the same increase in price (~$3k-$5k more than a standard s2k) and just buy aftermarket parts.. perhaps the only real benefit would be the quicker steering response?? s2k's r very overpriced i think, i mean a slick looking car but i think they need more power, i hear its kinda hard to get much more power out of them wthout forced induction.
