![]() isn't she cute?..lol After going to the DWG meet, my gf (sarah) wanted a 6th gen sooo bad. She has an 83 3rd gen right now, but she wants to upgrade to somethin a bit newer, safer and better looking. So right after we got back DWG she tried to figure out how she could afford one, and luckly enough, her grandmother gave her a $4500 loan. So after checkin in the states, on autotrader, craigslist, kijiji *canadian craigslist essentialy*, checkin with some of my friends who can get pretty much any sort of car, and ironicly found one on autotrader.ca. Went up, took a look, test drive, and nogociated the price. The guy originaly wanted $3900 as is, i managed to talk him down to $3850 with tax, as is. So shes headin up there tomorrow to pick it up. Any ways, details on it. Its a 1994 Toyota Celica GT-S, 2.2L, 5spd, silver, black and dark blueish interior. The car has 215xxxKM on it, runs smoother than my car..lol. The interior is mint except for the usual slight rip on the siders side bolster support, and there is a small rip in the vynal on the dash pad. Theres no rust what so ever *that i could find*, no bondo, the paint is kinda mucked up a bit, there are a few good sized scratches but nothing that a good buff wouldnt clear up. The front end was tapped slightly and the fender got re-straited, but no accidents what so ever on it. But yea, shes gonna pick it up tomorrow, tow it to her house *no front brakes*, then im gonna go home on the weekend and work on it while shes in New York for a wedding. So by the time she gets home, im gonna have the paint fixed up a bit, repaint the dashboard plastics *old owner hacked job painted them gray*, put her new shift knob on, shift boot, front brakes, front sway bar end links, install the cd player from her car into it, install my old bass tube subwoofer and just do some quick work on it, clean up engine bay, readjust the fender and just give the car a good once over to make sure its gonna b good. Then on Tuesday when she gets back from NYC, shes gonna go get it e-tested and safetied. She will probably be making an account on here sometime soon. As for plans for it, we are probably gonna be buyin a 404 kit for it b4 the winter, lowering it, set of 17" replica Buddy Club P1 racing rims, paint it BMW navy blue and then just keep it relatively stock performance wise. Im gonna build her a short ram intake with some of my old parts sittin in my garage, gonna get her a magnaflow muffler and do a half back exhaust. Its gonna b fun having another celica to work with now and its gonna b run building it the way she wants to. This post has been edited by Valo666: Sep 17, 2007 - 10:30 PM |

well sh*t. So, since im in windsor, and sarah is in toronto, she got really nervous and stressed out about it, and she blew the deal. She doesnt wanna buy the car because the guys who owned the dealership were talking in another language and started laughin, and she figures it was at her. So she told them she was gonna go home and check the VIN on carfax and come back tomorrow, but shes not going back. But the thing that gets me stressed, is when she gets pissed off or stressed out, she talks really fast and you cant understand her. So she was trying to explain whats happenin and what she wants to do, and because i couldnt understand her, she got mad thinkin i wasnt listening. So the search continues...im pretty pissed...but i mean, its kinda reasonable about why she didnt get the car, but its a bit of a pain in the ass that because i wasnt there, she didnt get the car. So...yea...kinda pissed...i guess you can close this thread now.

Well, we made some progress, last week i was in class writing up a lab report, and got bored, so i decided to see if i could find her another celica on autotrader or craigslist. So after about 10 minutes of searching i had found 3 different celicas within her price range and for good prices. I found a 94 GT-S back in Toronto for $3650, a 94 ST hatchback in Detroit for $2800 and a 94 ST coupe in ohio. So i e-mailed the guys in Detroit and ohio asking about their cars and gave the guy in Toronto a call. So i called the guy and he was pretty much like "YES!, good car!...you buy now!!", i tryed asking him about things like accidents, modifications, price etc and he was pretty much just yelling at me "you buy now". So i pretty much said "ill call u back" and havent since. I then got an e-mail from the guy in Detroit whos sellin this hatchback. He tells me in his e-mail that he is actually in spain right now and is selling it to open his restaraunt. He then tells me that the car was in detroit, but is now down in Tampa. So pretty much he was saying "im not in the country, my cars on the other side of the country and if you send me money, ill send you the car", so i deleted that e-mail. Then their was the coupe. Now Sarah told me from the get go, i dont want a coupe, i dont want it in black. So sure enough, this celica is a coupe and black. So i sent a few e-mails back for forth between me and the owner of the car. i found out its in West Jefferson Ohio, sooo, about 10 min away from Columbus. Sarah came down to windsor last week to come pickup her dog, and i had contacted this guy saying we might come down to take a look. So luckly i got off school about 2 hours early on thursday because my teacher had to take his kid to the dentist, so we decided to head out. On our way over, we checked with coustoms and found out we only have to pay 7% of the cost of the car for duty. Not too bad, so we drove down to columbus, but the weather was very iffy the entire way down, we got caught in bad rains, slippery roads, and extreamly bright sunshine. We left Windsor at around 3:45, but by the time we finished talking to customs, getting over the bridge, across the boarder and onto the highway, it was 4:30..lol. So with all this crazy weather and little problems along the way we managed to get to this guys house at around 9:10PM. There was still some light out, but not all that much. We called the guy when we got into his town to see if he could meet us. About 4 min later, he rolls into the parking lot driving a mint 93 GT convertable...so we were kinda impressed. We fallowed him out to his house, and as we are pulling into his driveway, he has the coupe, his celica, an el camino, and a 95 celica convertable. We knew this guy knew what he was talking about. So we took a look at the car, took her for a nice test drive, took a good look at her, and we liked. Theres some small imperfections here and there, the front bumper is missing some paint, the drivers side doors got rust coming through *what a supprise*, a guy backed into him in a parking lot and dented up his passanger side 1/4 pannel near the taillight, he repaired it, but still needs some work, a few paint chips here and there, and he also installed a spoiler too, but didnt gasket it, so there was a tiny bit of water in the trunk. So the girl friend and i remembered that he also said he had some extras he would throw in for an extra $150. What are these extras? a set of 15" wheels, a muffler, and an entire brand new Blitz body kit. So for $150 extra, we had to say sure. So we went to the bank, got out some $ and put a deposit down on her. Now we have to go pick it up in 2 weeks time. So, meet the new baby of the family.
![]() ![]() Only mods done to it right now are a cd player and a short ram intake. Shes sooo un-molested..lol. Its also a lower lower end model too, aka no power locks, windows, abs. It does have power mirrors though. Only problems mechanicly, it might need to have its P/S pump over hauled, but thats pretty easy to do. But its got a brand new tranny in it, not even a year old. Brand new clutch, not even 200miles on it. the interior is mint, except for the usual rips on the driver seat. Should be fun. As for plans, we are gonna install the side skirts from the body kit, sarah wants to buy a TRD wing for it, lower it, put an exhaust on it, curren tails and thats it for now. Personaly, i wanna swap a 20V into it though ![]() This post has been edited by Valo666: Jun 30, 2007 - 12:27 PM |

quick update,...we were gonna go pickup the car tomorrow, but because of the lack of imformation the US customs agency gives, we have to pick it up on saturday. So my weekend is gonna consist of driving about 5 hours, taking off a front bumper, deck lid, tail lights, spoiler, doing some quick body work, wiring, welding and painting. The front bumper on the car has some paint missing, aswell as on the rear its got a section that was hit at a slow speed that is dented in, so im gonna b fixing the work thats already been done on it *pulled out, but not finished over* by puttin some bondo down, sanding it out, smoothing it out and then painting it. Then im also gonna b taking off the spoiler the guy put on him self, patching up one of the holes that im not gonna b needing any more, and just puttin some small rubber patches over the other ones untill our TRD wing makes its way here from Jersey. Also, i might be puttin the side skirts on if i got the time and enough paint. Oh, and cant forget, i gotta wire up some daytime running lights too...yay..

Bryan again, so good news, Sarah is now a full fledge 6gc owner. We went down to pick it up yesterday, had a great drive down and back, cleared the boarder in like 15 min. So every thing is going great. But since we saw the car in the dark last time, i didnt get a full good view of it, so there was some downsides to it, a few rust spots, a bit of paint cancer, and some good stone chips. So we spent about 5 hours today working on it together, we smoked the turns and side markers, re-finished the roof and front bumper, cleaned the interior, and fixed one of the seat belts. So i spent about 2 hours wet-sanding the roof, but unfortunatly, i couldnt save it, so i had to do a quick rattel can spray job on it. For a rattel can spray job + clean coat, it turned out good, same with the front bumper. Also changed all the headlight bulbs, also i put my old "celica" badge on the back of the car. So ill let the pictures do the talking.
When we got it.. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Working ![]() ![]() ![]() after wet-sand ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() after smoking and clear coat ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This post has been edited by Keroppi: Jul 21, 2007 - 4:34 PM |

Nice job on rims. I was digging those rims when I saw them on Tirerack, and the fact that they are German made was even better. They look like they are only 15' rims, but you are making them bling once again!
Your passion for the Celi and fixing it is up is admirable, and to have such a supportive woman by your side that wants to own one too is even sweeter! Don't lose her! |

todays update. I managed to finish two of the wheels, the other too are pretty curb rashed, so im taking some extra time to re-finish them. But sarah really wanted them on her car, so i decided to get only the front two put on. They look really good, but makes me remember why i needed to lower my car.
Pics ![]() ![]() hehehe..i decided to spray her hub caps bronze too so they wouldnt stand out so much ![]() and why i need to lower it... ![]() i could have easily fit another 2 fingers above my hand too. Also i decided to install my old bass tube in her car. It sounds decent, and it was just laying around in my garage so why not. Installing ![]() *sry the pic is so dark* and the only wiring you see through the entire install ![]() ill get a better pic of the full tube when i take her other rims out of the trunk in a few hours. next work to be done is re-painting/re-finishing her hood, installing back wheels, full brake job, new shocks and maybe some s-techs, and installin her TRD spoiler that should b arriving sometime within the next week. For your (her) headliner, check out www.stockinteriors.com, that's what I'll be using and they look pretty good. Of course, I'm getting a full pre-molded carpet as well as the headliner kit, out with the tan in with the black! Car's looking great by the way!

Ive been on their site b4, im probably gonna be ordering my self a new carpet from them sometime soon. But as for the headliner, theres an automotive upholstery shop maybe 10 min away from my house, and they sell headliner material...its like $15 for the material to make it...its just i dont wanna go out and tear hers out and try and fix it my self right now. Nice. You'll probably wind up getting their carpet before me, so let me know how it is. Are you getting the pre-molded stuff (I don't actually know if they sell regular carpet)?

new update..we finaly got the back wheels on and refinished, i installed a colour matched grill *same colour as the wheels*, painted the hood, and also did some glazing over the big dent in the rear 1/4 pannel. It looks decent but you can tell that it was puttied..i gotta re-do the section and do a bit better paint work...but im gonna be doing that when paint time comes around. Any ways, enjoy..

todays update. I did some little work on the car today/tonight. I decided to change the interior light colour. I did the clock, gauges, and turn signals. Also the original stereo surround was broken in to 2 peices, so we got a new one from a scrap yard and i got around to installing it. We also finaly got our TRD spoiler in the mail...well..kinda..we have 2/3rd of it. We got the 2 sideposts today, but not the center section. I decided to re-paint them cuz they were a bit rough. I also tryed to install the spoiler side posts on the trunk..but theres somethin not right with the spoiler on it right now and the bolts wont come out. But i also noticed that the trunk is starting to rust pretty good. But luckly theres a wrecked convert at this scrap yard about 20 min away and they have a mint trunk for $40
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The Family...we painted the 83 flat black and i shaved and filled in all of the little holes from the side moulding. ![]() and the TRD spoiler ![]() |

todays update. We were suppost to go out to my friends work and get the car aligned but his hoist was being used for undercoating so we couldnt get out there. So we found this out about half way to his work *about a 40 min drive down the highway* so we figured we would make the best of the trip, so we headed over to this scrap yard that i knew of that had a wrecked 95 convert. So we went in with some plyers, sockets, etc and came out with a bill of $210 and a car full of parts. We got a new deck lid *in red with the underside cover*, GT front sway bar, OEM GT strut bar, lighted ignition ring, climate controll *for me to tinker around with*, blower motor, shifter surround with convertable switches, shift knob, vent for the peice under the steering colom *for some reason my GTS doesnt have it but sarahs coupe does*, a OEM leather wrapped shift knob and a couple other little parts. We were gonna take the steering wheel out, but i couldnt remember how to get the airbag out. It was a pretty nice leather wraped gt wheel too. So im gonna b headin back out that way in a week or so's time to pick that up too. Ill have pics of the progress in a few days.

So, what was the point of moving the mirror switch to the center console next to the cigarette lighter? Just aesthetic(sp)? yep....
so yesterday was a fun day. we took the car to a shop to get a safety check. So we go bring the car down, and pick it up and e found out we need new drums, a new front caliper, and 2 new tires on the front *good thing they are only $60 a peice*. So now we got a new caliper, drums, etc on order..should b in on wensday, but our temporary trip ticket is expired today and we cant get another one because we imported the car. So we are kinda screwed in that sence. But also, as we were coming back from the shop..sarah was driving at first and noticed that the brake pedal felt kinda spongy and the brakes didnt grab very well..so half way home we switched, i started to drive and then we had no brakes what so ever. So we pulled over and called the shop..and you have to love the conincidence of us leaving a shop where they were checking the brakes and pulled the drums off, and that within 20 min of picking it up, we blow a wheel cylinder. So we got the cylinder on order so its coming in on wensday too...but heres the best part....we are heading back to toronto untill like the 3rd on tuesday *yay*..lol. So we had to get Keroppi towed home...poor Keroppi. But when we get back in Sept, the work is gonna start all over again and she should be better than new. I got Valo666 and then she got Keroppi. So the name just kinda stuck. |

![]() ![]() i cleaned up the wiper arms too cuz they were starting to rust out...they look better now ![]() Also i did some more work and made the cilmate controll light up the same colour as every thing else in the car.. ![]() I also added a nice bright LED 194 bulb that i found in my glove box in the trunk too..has a nice purplish colour to it... ![]() and a show of what we managed to pickup at the scrap yard for $200...a trunk, inner trunk pannel, blower motor with fan, gt front strut bar, GT front sway bar, shifter surround with cig lighter and convertable switches, lighted key ring, lighted courtesy marker, a second climate controll and the vent that goes under the steering coloum and a leather wrapped shift knob. Im also gonna be gettin a GT leather wrapped steering wheel tomorrow. pics of the part ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() and just for fun.. ![]() and with the shifter surround, some sheet metal, some hammering, and a few quick holes drilled out... ![]() thats for my car though..thats just the rough mounting too..it will look a hell of alot better when i get out to my friends house where he has a vice and i can bend the metal alot better and make sharper bends...so...now we go on vacation...headin back to toronto untill the 3rd then i come back and i start my new job at nissan...so..things are going good...also we found a new door for $150 just over the boarder, so we might be picking that up soon too. |

well....this car doesnt like me...i went to change the wheel cylinder 2nights ago...got it all done except for 1 spring. So i got the spring on, checked the width apart, checked the diamater of the drum..put the drum on...got it ready to be bled...bled the front caliper. First time..no problem...second time...no problem..then as im pressureizing it for the 3rd time..all i hear is *pop*...so i pulled the drum off...new wheel cylinder popped the same way. So i ordered a new one so tomorrow after im done work im gonna put it on, the new shoes, the new drum bleed the system..and then im gonna be doing the new trunk and hopefully drilling the holes for the TRD spoiler.
EDIT: also, i might do the front swaybar and blower motor too. Got some polyurethane mounts for the front sway bar, so its just gonna be takin the old mounts and endlinks off and slaping the new bar in place. This post has been edited by Valo666: Sep 7, 2007 - 8:17 PM |

so...nothing big, but I FINALY! got the car road legal. 3 wheel cylindrs and a few headache filled hours later, its done. I found out why the wheel cylinders popped. The backing plate was pretty freakin rusty, so the 4 spots where the shoes rest on the backing plate i cleaned up, lubed up and i also put new shoes on. New shoes, springs, wheel cylinder, and some lube and the brakes are right as rain. So we finaly got it fully passed e-test and safety and got plates on it today. Other than that, nothing else really has been done...i painted the new decklid/trunk...now i just gotta paint up the spoiler and drill some holes and its set to go. But i think im gonna take some time off from working on it. Also, im gettin a job working in parts at the local toyota dealership starting next week, so im gonna b ordering lots of new stuff for both the coupe and the hatchback.
Pics of the newly painted trunk.... it still needs another coat and a coat of clear ![]() ![]() ![]() This post has been edited by Valo666: Sep 14, 2007 - 5:54 PM |

So i did some good work today...i mounted up sarah's new switch...so far its for nothing, but we are planning on gettin some OEM fogs, so im gonna do the wiring up to the switch for it.
![]() and FINALY i got the TRD spoiler mounted. It was actually pretty easy, and Sarah LOVES!!! it. We also put the rims back on after gettin the car safetied. *one of the tires is running low on tread and one wheel is bent*. Sar puttin her wheels on ![]() ![]() and the car with the spoiler and rims on ![]() ![]() and the happy garage...sooo many fun cars ![]() so now..we r gonna get a new door, paint it up...new front end links with the GT front swaybar, work on the audio system *cleaning up wiring mostly*, new seat covers *and one new back support peice*, and then just gettin every thing ready for paint probably over the winter and new wheels to come by then too. |

well..the ride home was fun today. Sarah and i headed back to toronto today, about a 3.5-4hr drive. About an hour and a half in, we heard this big CLUNK! sound. Sarah was driving at the time and we didnt know where it came from. So we pulled over on the side of the highway, i took a look around..every thing looked fine. So we kept driving, about 40 min later, we stopped for some gas. We started to drive on these side roads because of a de-tour to get back on the highway. As we were driving, we started hearing this terrible clunking sound again. I thought i may have blown one of the swaybar end links i replaced the night b4..So we kept driving and just b4 we got onto the highway again, we pulled over, checked every thing out..every thing looked ok. End links were perfect. So we just kept going thinking it may be the shock or the spring not sitting right. After 2 hours of driving to get back to toronto, the clunking starts again. I was driving and started to notice some irregularitys in the brake pressure. So we finaly got to her house, then left and came to mine all the while this clunking was still happening. When we got here, i started to bounce the car to see if i could hear where it was coming from...so i got sarah to bounce the car instead. Even b4 the first bounce, i found the problem. Her drivers side caliper was pretty much falling off. And by pretty much, i mean like 3/4 of it. So the clunking sound was the caliper hittin the wheel as it moved. I havent taken the wheel off yet to see if its the bolts or what, but its moving pretty freely. Im gonna double check it tomorrow and see what the problem is. Hopefully i can get all the parts rush ordered in for saturday otherwise we r screwed cuz her car is our only ride back to windsor on sunday....this car really likes to piss me off..lol

Is it just missing the caliper bolt? I had the same problem on my rear caliper... $1.52 fix.
