Well its time for another engine swap and I'm excited biggrin.gif I should have done this swap in the first place. James, the owner of JARCO, was even kind enough to deliver it to me. Enjoy the pics. Updates as I progress.

LOL....no AWD swap for me, I just made sure to get everything I could from the clip, besides I already have an AWD ST205 powered Camry biggrin.gif . I want to keep the Celica FWD because it will be faster from a roll. I might even try and do a RHD swap too.

The big issue for me is tranny choice: E153 w/ LSD, S54, or Convert the AWD trans to FWD. Not to mention axle choices, oh my.

He ALREADY has the st205 mounts and shifter cables needed for e153 ...so it really is very easy. My vote is for e153. That's what I’m using -- along with st205 mounts and shifter cables. Btw, you can get solid 1 piece poly inserts for st205 mounts from speedsource. Also, you can get bearing shifter cable inserts to replace old warn rubber ones. wink.gif

Good luck on your swap. smile.gif

I really would like the E153 w/LSD but I'm not sure where to source a good 93+ trans with axles. I'm probably going to sell the AWD trans and diff as a set, probably to the ST185 guys, and make some money for the E153

What do the bearing inserts feel in comparison to stock? Is it notchy, more precise or stiff?

I might be interested in the awd tranny and rear diff.
How is the shifting? any problem?
Do you know the mileage?
How much do you want for those?
Winter Haven is not too far from me.

Are you going to attempt this swap on your own or have a shop do it?

It was an easy choice for me... Find a busted MR2 E153 (should be cheap on MR2OC), buy a nice aftermarket LSD diff, MR2 Turbo carrier bearing and complete '88-'91 Camry V6 axles. Put it all together and you have a nice strong FWD transmission with LSD for less than a stock MR2 LSD E153.

-Charlie

PS. If you find a nice all-trac Camry again, let me know. smile.gif

Thanks Tim. Its been a long time since I met you out in Orlando. We'll have to meet up sometime .

Ben - Dude I'm gonna do this one myself and take my time with it smile.gif . You should stop by when you have some time off from work.

Charlie - I've only seen 4 Alltrac Camrys in all my travels, so it might be a while tongue.gif

As soon as I find a buyer for the AWD stuff, I will look into an E153. I'm still kinda fuzzy on what axle combo will work the best, even after reading the "short axle thread" I know Charlie said Camry V6 axles will work, but that might not be the right length for the Celica. Still need to search some more.

The clip has 116,XXX Km for those asking about the AWD setup.

More pics tomorrow.

Sorry Zoom, the cables are going to be used in my swap. The black carpet is going in the Celica as well, my old tan carpet is all stained up.

$150 is a little too low Player wink.gif

So far I've got all dash components out as well as the wiring....looking pretty bare. I'm hoping to pull the engine this weekend, I'm currious to check out the anti-lag and water injection systems.

Give me a call Ben, maybe you could lend a hand smile.gif

Look for the front heat exchanger water spray too. My understanding is there is an extra washer tank behind the bumper for it. biggrin.gif

Let me know when and where this little meet is going to happen and I'll see about going. The engine is a 20v ST and I'll be looking to sell it once I'm ready to pull it out, probably cheap too.

Update:

As the clip sits now.

OOOooooooo. I'm saving up for it then. I might do a 7AGE conversion and get it tuned. Is the 4AGE stock or does it have internal work done to it? Last I heard, you had a spare 4A block for your 4AGE Turbo project.
