Okay I have raced 3 CRX's and lost to all 3, are they really that fast. I know that I raced one that had nitrous and the others were just intake and exhaust and other minor stuff, nothing major. I role civics all the time but these damn crx are making me look bad. I guess I was just wondering if these cars are really that fast. And I have a weapon-r intake, centerforce clutch, and custom 2.5" exhaust.

I think that the Si models are pretty quick, but I think the rest of them are slow. Maybe all three you raced were the Si model.

I can't remember the exact horsepower rating but the 88-91 CRX Si had about 108 HP and weigh just over 2000 lbs.

I think the problem is on the weight!!!The CRX is not so fast but its very light,it has nothing to do with the driving smile.gif

I don't know about a stock celica, but I kill my friends girlfriends 94 integra rs. I would guess a stock celica would still win

Okay, my good friend had a CRX si and I raced it with just and intake and exhuast and he won. The SI engine is like 115 horse, but it gets quite a bit to the wheels and responds terrificly to mods. He could definitly feel it when he installed his CAI vs when I installed my Short Ram + Exhuast. The car is also light, try 2100 and if it's gutted it can get to under 2000. The Celi weights 2500 easy.

Your losses are sad, but expected. Those pocket rockets are surprisingly quick.

Yea I post twice in a row... get over it. The stock CRX has 108... my bad.

Um... I raced a gs which is some engine different trim as the rs I think when I was running underdrive pulley, s-afc, intake, and exhuast, and was able to beat it. I think stock for stock it would be extremely close.

hmmm, 94 Toy has a GT coupe it looks like.

thats 135 hp in a 2500 lb car

vs a CRX with 108 in a 2100 lb car

your car has a better power-weight ratio confused.gif

Yea, but power/weight ratios are far from linear.

if the crx has had an engine swap, its over, dont even try to race.

if it is an STD or HF model they are STS.

the SI has a fair amount of power when look at in respect to the car's weight. it does respond well to mods. expect to have a highly modded celica to beat a CRX SI that has all the basic bolt ons with the engine and tranny in good condition
