If you havent been fallowing, my GF wants to buy a celica these days, and i actually just found a good deal on a 95 ST today. The car looks mint, but has high milage, almost 200xxxmiles. Any ways, i figure if the body is good, i can always swap motors. Since its an ST, i was thinkin a silvertop would b fun in it. I have alot of friends with AE's who have 20V motors sittin in the garage's with full wiring harness i could get for $500. My main question is, is there any fabrication work needed to swap a 20V into a 1.8's spot?? The harness conversion wont be a problem, but im just wondering if theres any thing needed to fabricate up to swap it in. Also, could i keep A/C with the swap too??

The only things that need to be refabbed is all of the power steering lines, a/c lines, and some of the vacuum lines. You'll also need to weld the 20v's downpipe to the celica's original downpipe where the the O2 sensor suppose to bolt on and a longer throttle cable from a paseo. Make sure to keep the the celica's original a/c idle up vsv thats mounted on the firewall, you'll need it to maintain idle when the a/c compressor's clutch kicks in. Without it the engine will stall out. As far as putting the engine in, it's a pretty much a direct drop in. Everything should line up accordingly.
