So today i was on my way home from work when I heard a loud tapping sound coming from the engine and I think I've got a valve tapping
![]() ...So, what will I likely be looking at as far as fixing this issue? Am i correct in assuming that the head will have to come off? Damnt this sucks, all I want to do is go for a drive ![]() |

If it is rod knock then you would be better off getting an entire rebuild. Chances are that if one is knocking then you have crank damage and will have to remove the engine from the car. Might be cheaper to get a rebuilt or low mileage engine instead.
