so i try to crank my car this morning and it squeals super loud cranks up runs for a second and i kill it to see which belt is screwing up on me....get my gf to crank it so i can look under the hood and nothing happens sounds fine....so everything looks good...well im sitting at a stop light about a quarter mile from my house...and i smell something and smoke is coming from my engine bay so i immediately kill it wait till the light turns green and made it home ...when i got to the house im looking and shreds of fiber are pushing they're way out of the AC compressor....the AC doesnt even work right now because i keep blowing a fuse....so the clutch in my compressor is shredding inside the compressor...so new compressor or can you replace the clutch in them or is that to much work?

you can do just the clutch, but you might have a damaged compressor as well. make sure to replace your belt while you're there.

belt is still in good shape...What gets me about it is that it had no live fuse...the AC kept on blowing its fuse...it didnt have one in it when the clutch went out...
