I been looking through posts and stickies and i am still very confused about this. next year i am planning to do a major project on my car in which i will either swap my engine or add a GT4 front end or even both . The Gt4 front end conversion parts are posted in the stickies but still are confusing to me , can somebody that did it before tell me exactly which parts need and a simple guide of what needs to be done ? thanks everybody

ST205 Lock Assy, Hood (LHD)
53510-20510 ST205 Cable Assy, Hood Lock Control (LHD) 53630-20530 these part numbers will not work on ToyotaWorld's online part number search, you have to call them and ask. -------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

my car needs a spoiler as well ... i dont want something that is too big , i want one that is not too big
eg: the spoiler on the jgreening car , where can i find one like it ..... plz suggest something if u have something on mind ..... my car will have alot of silver on it , i will paint the Gt-four grill and hood parts silver and probably will go buy some silver decals .... so i was first thinking of a very low curved aluminum wing but i am not sure ... |

didn't jgreening sell his car? Anyways, the spoiler on it was the factory 2 post spoiler for the coupe/convertibles. That's really the only low spoiler other than the 3 post spoiler factory spoiler haha. I heard the 2000+ eclipes spoiler fits, and i think one of the mustang spoilers fit as well.

^ most clips won't have them.. and a lot of the times, if they ARE included, they'll arrive dented/damaged/wrecked due to shipping.. it really depends on how the seller ships them or if they come with a lot of shrink-wrap.

( i am a total fiberglass noob but i am goo with my hands and i am a quick learner) It is a pain. You'll need to extend the lip about...4 inches on both sides. To do this you will need a cutting tool ofcourse. Then you will need to see how much you need to add exactly. Materials you'll need to extend this are basically, fiberglass cloth, resin, hardener, brushes, mixing container (styrofoam and plastic cups will melt), sand paper (lots of different grits), sanding block, primer at minimum, then paint if your going to do it yourself, and a drill and drill bits to drill new mounting holes. This is only what is required to EXTEND the lip to reach the wheel wells of the coupe/convertible. You will still need to find a way for it to mount flush, as most body kits/lips are not direct bolt on and still require some modification. Hi, I've been considering to put a gt4 front end on my car. I own a 94 GT-S, and i called Astig Racing and They're charging me 640 for the hood and bumper...the shipping is still yet undetermined..the dude said they can only ship to vancouver, well i'm in Ontario, he said that they can do UPS shipping...hood will cost about 400 for shipping only as for the bumper...i'll just assume 700 for shipping only? Anyway, I've not yet contacted ToyotaWorld yet, when i call, it seems to not be able to go through. the telltale woman goes on and says the number cant be reached in my location -__-. Anyway my question was, since i've acknowledged that i can use my stock fenders for the bumper, will i need the st205 head liights, or can i use my factory ones already on the car. Also, to install, its completely just a remove and install job right? no modification needed?

Stock headlights are fine there are a few mods needed to front
you will need to use a gt4 reinforcment bar and frame rail brackets or cut down your stock one which I don't recomend because it offers no support to the center section of the bumper cover. The hood safety catch will need to be extended about 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 inches also or use a lhd gt4 latch. search around a bit and you will find there are several topics on the conversion. ![]() The price you stated is quite low most cost around 1400. not including latch and rebar. Yeah that's what i thought too when i called Astig Racing about the pricing. But thanks for the info 97lestyousay. I'll call Astig Racing and ask for the remainder parts that i'll be needing for the conversion, and see what the price will come to. He also said he'll be throwing in the set of foglights too for me.

If you cant get it from toyotaworld you're SOL. J/K, I don't know. If you know how to weld or know someone who can just cut the latch and add 1/2 inch of metal to extend the latch.

Ok.. my only question about this Gt4 front end conversion is.. could you replace the st202 front bumper with an oem st205 front bumper, as well as the hoods? and if so.. are these st205 parts in america? because ive been doing alot of searchs, but the parts im looking for are only in UK. the engine swap seems to be easier than doing the body work for some reason.. as ebay supplies you with many full engine swaps of the twin entry turbo st205. basically.. all i need is the oem front bumper.. fog light housing.. and hood. and my project will be complete.

Check the stickies in the exterior section bud. This pops up all the time and no one seems to search hard enough. oops, sorry just realized you've just joinded today. Well look in the stickies and you'll have all the part numbers. Go to any toyota and give them the part number. Make sure you tell them its jdm.

the gt-four carbon hold will bolt straight on. but you'll have a gap at the front where it meets the front bumper if you don't get a gt-four bumper as well.
also, if you get the carbon hood, it won't include the hood grill and vents. -------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

im doing a conversion,,, well not a conversion, only the body kit of a gt four
and i have already spent more than 2000 dollars,, heres the list gtfour hood gt four bumper clear headlights 404 sideskirts jdm tails trd rear splitters tein s 404 front lip and right now im contacting someone who has already got me all the grilles and the plastics and seal that the front end needs,, all this is going to be almost 300,, so pretty much the total is 2300, and still i havent paint them but for me there is a good side,, theres people i know that are waiting for me to change the body kit, so they can get my parts, like the oem hood, bumper, tails, headlights and all that stuff, and its going to be almos half the price i have already spent on my gt four parts,, so it kind of balances out. -------------------- ![]() |

So BottomLine if you use the GT4 front bumper you HAVE to use the hood? I would love to throw the GT4 bumper on my 96 Vert, but think the hood would be a little much.

So I have a question, i'm going to be doing the GT-4 front conversion as well, so far. I purchsed the hood, but i've just one concern, on a rainy day will my engine be ok enduring the rain, i'm actually more concerned about when i'm parked and its raining throughout the night.
What do you guys do? Do you guys drive it out at all when it rains? i've just a driveway and no garage so the car will be outside at all times rain or shine. As for the rain guard and insulator--should i get them? Will they really stop the rain? I'm still awaiting Randy (97lestyousay) to get back to me and a couple others about if he can still make the GT4 hood vent rain deflector but i read that it won't stop the rain but only slow it down. I'm concerned of the rust that will be caused in my engine bay. |

Everything in the bay should be painted with the exception of
exhaust manifold and misc odds and ends. before cars had under plastic they were completly exposed under the bay with far worse corosion protection than we have today. The stock gt4 rainguard has loovers moisture still gets in just not as much as being completely open. The ones I sold are more or less a shield keep water from just spraying directly on the wireing. Water still gets in, but I can hose it off without directly hosing my engine. The 3sgte won't have a problem being completly exposed or hasn't that I have heard of anyway. -------------------- JDM guy made me do it.

Does it not fit or just leave a gap? from what I've read there will be a gap between teh stock hod and the GT4 bumper. I figure modification would have to be made to a hood, but technically the bumper would fit on the vehicle regardless correct? |

About 1 inch. You will have small mammals nesting in your radiator.
![]() Hood only, with the bumper only I think you would still have to extend your stock hood latch or push the cover down every time you open the hood. ![]() This post has been edited by 97lestyousay: Feb 16, 2008 - 1:47 AM -------------------- JDM guy made me do it.

QUOTE(97lestyousay @ Feb 16, 2008 - 1:35 AM) About 1 inch. You will have small mammals nesting in your radiator. ![]() Hood only, with the bumper only I think you would still have to extend your stock hood latch or push the cover down every time you open the hood. ![]() yeah it definitely can't stay that way. thanks for the pic, i wonder if anyone has pics of the gtfour bumper with a stock hood. from the looks of your picture though it looks like a gtfour bumper would sit higher up than the stock hood level so something would have to be fabricated to extend the hood after it was raised. if anyone happens to have a pic of a gtfour bumper with a stock hood it'd be a great help! ![]() |

K guys, just a quick question, I've beent old that i could extend my hood latch or get a LHD gt4 hood latch if i'm going to decide to use my gt4 hood, however, will it matter if the hood latch is from an LHD or RHD st205? they'll both fit and work right?

daftboy had just the bumper with his stock hood for a bit, he just tightened the bolts on the top to not have a gap. looked like hell to use cuz you know what to look for, but to anyone else didnt look too bad. i would not recommend this as it may bend/warp your bumper
just get the hood as well, and the rain guard from randy and call it a day. looks much better =) -------------------- you know why they put sheep at the edge of a cliff.... that way they push back!

cable goes the opposite way with the rhd latch
-------------------- ![]() I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside. |

I dunno, thought it might rust up pretty bad or somehow cause water damage if the snow got into the engine bay? no?

i have a stock gt4 rain guard below my hood vent, so i'm ok there... how much does it snow over there anyway? i'm not so worried since it only snows like once or twice a week here. besides, it's not like we're driving without a hood on..

I'll thikn about it because GottaGoTurbo is holding a TRD written rain deflector (from Randy) for me so I hope that'll take care of it.
