http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4Fbk52Mk1w

have had this up and running, and have since tweaked and added a bunch of other features to it, all the effects in that video run that smooth and in total use about 300 megs of ram (so if you have like 512 ram, you can run all that and still goof off easily)

just thought id share, if anyone would like to know how to make your computer like that lemme know. =)

learn some programming, switch to a linux distro, and be happy already

It works on a few, suse is the most developed of the distros and it works pretty good on it... the more developed the distro the better chance that there wont be bugs that conflict between their plugins and what the distro has by default.

No its not too hard to install, just takes some patience figuring the hdd setup... thats what always slowed me down. And you need to know commands so you can install software and everything else you need.

yea its pretty sweet... and easy to setup if your graphics are supported... if they are not it takes a god deal. i think anyone who is computer smart should at least run a dual boot of their main os (mac/pc) and some form of lunux (recommend ubuntu or kubuntu) sooooo many good things you miss out on

"who needs windows in a world without walls"

as far as resources... ive only got a gig of ram on my laptop and an amd 64x2 2.0ghz and all this runs very very smooth with max settings.

gaming, and all my windows programs are run with wine so the whole compatability issue is no more. your computer can literally do anything you want it to do software wise, your only limited to your hardware and drivers

heres some cheezy screen i took, and yes it does support well over 24 desktops, i just wanted to show up a vista friend =)

I like how you said a dual core 64bit as ONLY!, for laptop that is a lot, and as far as memory, thats pretty low.... most of the plugins will be taking graphics resources, not pc... so that is moreso what you have to look at... ubuntu has low requirements its those bloody plugins....by the looks of it u gotta have something with atleast 256mb...possibly on ddr3
