alright guys we're going to try this again... be aware that i am at school for mechanical engineering so i am extremely busy but since i've gotten quite a few PM's about my closed thread... i decided to start it up again.... so here we go....

PLEASE DO NOT PM ME.... my PM box is just about full with all important messages i have to keep... so please do not PM me....

heres how its going to work.... i'm going to start a list with username and color choice... i will be doing one user at a time... add your name to the list via reply... when its your turn on the list... i will PM you confirming your "order"... current color choices include red, blue, green, yellow, pink? (have to double check this one), and any combination of the above... if you want to try another color just let me know... indicator buttons and background colors can be different or the same color, also there's an option for the color changing knob.... just some quick info:

every LED is hand soldered into place, there is an option for the color changing temp knob... going from blue in the cold to red in the hot area... both options use approximately 30 LED's, unit is 100% plug and play on return

shipping - currently i have extra AC units here therefore on order, i will begin to make the unit, at completion: i will take pics and send to buyer, payment is then due with approval of unit, you then have the option of sending me your unit and on arrival, i will immediately ship you your completed unit OR for a LARGE deposit, i will ship you your custom unit first in which you can ship me yours when you receive, once i get yours, i will return the deposit...

price - non-color changing knob LED's is a $40 charge including labor and parts, color changing knob is a $70 charge including labor and parts, prices DO NOT include shipping, every unit is guaranteed to work on arrival and will work with buyer if they have any problems at all, also be aware that half the LED's need resistors or custom work and custom wiring to get them to work properly in the unit, hence the high price smile.gif my time is about 8 work hours per unit, deposit is $100 if custom unit is sent first, returned on receiving unit: i will be doing one unit at a time... so please be patient with me, it takes approx 1 week to complete

note: color choices for non-color changing knob: i can keep it the original colors with a color of your choice in the actual knob itself, or i can do all blue.... i cannot do all red because the red will not shine through the blue in the cold region frown.gif

i will be updating the post with pics, you can look for the old post if needing to see pics now, look near the end of the post

List:

username / color / color change / deposit option (Y/N):

1. goferris / blue / N / ?
2. 94celiGTS / ? / ? / ?
3. celica power / blue-bg red-indicator / Y / ?
4. 6strngs / blue / Y / N
5. peterkos / blue / y / y
6.? dagreat1 / blue / y / ?

supradog1 and shocker i have not forgot about you.... PM me

I want one! The video of the color changing didn't work for me and I don't quite understand what it is. I'm going to try to make sure I have the latest version of quicktime and then I'll try it again. until then I can't give an answer on the color change option

6strngs / blue / ? / N

Edit, ok, I got the video to work. But I want to know, if I don't get the color change option then can the color in the temperature indicator still be changed, and will the temperature still be able to have blue and red, or do those only come with the color change option?

you can have the little indicator in the knob be whatever color you would like if you don't want it color changing while the actual background light that has the hot/cold temp zone can either be all blue, blue and red in respective areas or partial red (the red will not shine through the blue colored zone)

ALSO! i have a completed total red one ready to ship... with or without color changing option smile.gif

in that case, I'd like all the background lights and indicators blue, including the knob. and the temperature to have blue and red, but a non-color-changing knob. in other words:

6strngs / blue / n / n

just a clarification... all blue background including knobs and blue indicators is $40, for either color changing knob or non-color changing knob with dual color background lights (blue and red) the same brightness and color as the rest is $70... i can do blue and red background color for $40 but it will be with a white light behind it so they will be a different color than the rest of the blue light in the HVAC unit... just a thought.... 6strngs - let me know what you want to do...

also i'm experimenting with the fan control knob... i'm thinking about making it so that only the position on the background lights up when you have it turned to that... so HI will only be lit when the fan is turned there and OFF will only be lit when the fan is off and same with the two positions in between, anyone interested in this?

I do not want that option. I think it will be "messy", imo. that is... I want full blue backroundlight, and bright blue in the "plastic" on each button. The temprature.knob I want to change from blue to red, as in your video.

ok then, in that case put me down for the color changing knob. I liked the way it looks it just wasn't worth $30 to me, but to have the blue/red and the color changing is worth the extra $30 to me. so, put me down for color changing.

I want mine straight up Amber (JDM) style. I'm just scared, I won't be able to put this new one back in. I've never tried, perhaps I won't be able to put back the cables to the firewall or something. Stickies not clear or detailed enough.

Edited to remove the color change feature. I realized that in Houston it'll only get a chance to change to red about 4 times a year.

Do you know what I mean by "Whitesh blue" White with a blue hint to It, Like the head light color, If you can do It.

Im assumeing the color would be similar to what you told goferris, stetson no luck on the auto A/C controls, i don't have any here nor have i ever worked on one.... goferris yours is almost done... i had to order another batch of blue LED's because my last sets brightness was too high... i think it looked too light of a blue (more like white) with not enough actual color

Let me know when you have the time, I know your busy, no rush!

QUOTE (pittfirefighter @ Oct 31, 2007 - 12:46 PM) *
just a clarification... all blue background including knobs and blue indicators is $40, for either color changing knob or non-color changing knob with dual color background lights (blue and red) the same brightness and color as the rest is $70... i can do blue and red background color for $40 but it will be with a white light behind it so they will be a different color than the rest of the blue light in the HVAC unit... just a thought.... 6strngs - let me know what you want to do...

also i'm experimenting with the fan control knob... i'm thinking about making it so that only the position on the background lights up when you have it turned to that... so HI will only be lit when the fan is turned there and OFF will only be lit when the fan is off and same with the two positions in between, anyone interested in this?

ya, this is pimp i'm interested. i just wanted to ask if you could seed me a link with it and the color changing cuase the vid aint working.

Wow thats cool man, im really digging the color change temp knob. How much is it for the temp knob color change, with the blue led behind the fan buttons, and the defroster buttons etc including shipping, will you supply an actual ac unit if we dont want to ship you ours, i think this is a must for the car.
