2 questions.

Question 1. What did you do to blow the fuse in the first place?

Question 2. Does anything else in your car not work? Check your dome light, or your guages.

Diagnosis: There are 3 more fuses you should check and then report back to me your findings.
7.5A Panel
10A Dome
20A Radio

Take a look at those 3 fuses and see if they are blown. If you still can't figure it out, I will take a look at it tomorrow for you Marco. Ok I'm going to sleep now.

Does this have anything to do with the relays? I had an issue with the power iwndows and mirrors and also blower motor not work due to the starter selinoid. But this was in a BMW.

Probably one or more wires are burned...you'll need to trace them and do the necessary surgeries...or just hook the accessory wire (Accessory Gray + at Ignition Harness) to ur clock and radio ,that should do the trick.

In summary, you had a blown fuse, replaced it and now your cig lighter works but your radio and clock doesn't?

Radio needs both the "radio 1" fuse and the "cig. and radio" fuse.
Cigarette lighter needs the "cig. and radio" fuse.
Clock needs the "panel", "cig. and radio" and the "dome" fuses.

Either you have multiple fuses failed, or you have something unplugged (eg. at J/B #3) or you have one or more broken/burned wires, or the fault caused a power surge that damaged both the radio and the clock. The last one seems to be very unlikely to me.

If your horn and hazards work, but your dome and radio doesn't, check the shorting pin. It looks like a regular fuse and is in the main engine bay fuse box. It is usually white in colour.

Windows need the "Door", "Gauge" and "Power" fuses as well as a correctly functioning "power main relay".

For your problem, it would be useful to have a more complete list of exactly what is still working and what isn't.

alright, here is the list of the non-working

brake lights
Tachometer
Fuel Gauge
Temp Gauge

WOrking:
High Beam indicator on dash
Door Ajar indicator
dome lights work

QUOTE(torhne @ Dec 7, 2007 - 9:44 PM)

alright, here is the list

Few more to check:

Healights (the actual headlights, not the tell-tale)
Horn
Hazard
Tail lights
Stop (brake) lights
Heater
Rear defogger
Air conditioning
Wipers
Cigarette lighter
SRS tell-tale on dash
Charge (battery) indicator on dash

Regarding the dome lights - did you do something to get them working or did you mis-remember whether they worked or not?

(My notes:
Looks like the dome and headlight circuits are working
Looks like panel and gauge circuits are not)

dude i get this also its kinda funny stings a bit. lol but i woudl check all of your power and grounds use a volt meter not a test light so u dont hurt your computer and if u trace the wireing u should be able to find the problem. our cars rnt that bad in the wireing department so u shoudl be able to find the problem it could be that u have a loose connection a coroded wire from water or battery acid or a secondary blown fuse i knwo i have 3 fuses for my cd player in my car i have 2 inline and the factory fuse so just trace the power and ground with a volt meter and u shoudl find the problem

haha wow thanks guys for all the info, ill try and look into it tommorow, but the weird part is that all my fuses are all good, i dont know if there are any "hidden" fuses that i dont know about?

the things that dont work are:
side door courtesy lights
dome light
Radio CD player
the light in the trunk

and the weird thing about these is that all the fuses for these are good, and i even installed new fuses just in case, and it still doesnt work! >_<

oh yeah, forgot to mention, im not an electrical guy so i dont want to mess with the wiring haha all i know is the basic stuff...dont wanna mess it up more ya know?

Marco, can you tell me if your horn and hazards work? Have you located the shorting pin? It looks like a regular fuse and is in the main engine bay fuse box. It is usually white in colour.

Torhne, if you can check those items I listed and let me know which are working and which aren't I may be able to help you further also.

Shorting pin is the most likely culprit then.

Yes, the main fuse box. The one near the battery. On the diagram on the fuse box lid, it is represented as rectangle with a diagonal line through it. You may even find that the shorting pin is missing.

It looks just like a fuse. Look at the diagram on the inside of the fusebox lid. The shorting pin has a different symbol to the fuses. However, I am pretty sure that you have a different problem to MarcoGTS. If you let me know which additional circuits (above) work/don't work I may be able to narrow the problem down further.

hey BloodyStupidDavey! haha i also noticed you took out your srs airbag warning fuse! haha got a aftermarket steering wheel on?? im planning to put mines on soon but ive already took out the srs fuse because of a previous steering wheel swap, i had to put back the stock because i didnt have a spacer and i kept on hitting the turn signals everytime i turn...but now i got a quick release and it gives a lot of space now....now another problem....i dont know how to re-wire the horn button, its sorta confusing, all i know is not to mess with the yellow wire because that goes to the airbags....which wire goes to the horn? and how do you install it with the aftermarket horn button? THANKS!!

Sorry, I can't help with that. The pic isn't of my car, I borrowed it from the website it says on the image smile.gif To sound the horn, you want to short the green wire on the A plug (pin 5) to ground through the horn switch.

I did have an SRS warning light at one point but that was a loose plug in the drivers' kick panel.

Just a thought, make sure under your hood, fuse box, in the center there is a fuse thats labeled as X make sure this fuse is good. I removed this before because I thought it was a spare, and the things your mentioned did not work.

ok just got done working on it. and i was using a multimeter to test the wires that plug into the bottom of the fuse block, there are 2 that are getting power, a black one with a red stripe and a black with pink stripe. and in the other group of cables that plug into the bottom of the fuse block, one of the pure white cables are getting power, but none of the other 5-6 are. i also pulled out all the BIG fuses in the block, and none of them are getting power to either side of the contact, and the 2 black fuses are in the same boat, no power to either side. and as an reminder, none of the small fuses are working either, no power to either side. someone pleassssseeeee help me frown.gif

i THINK all the white wires should be getting +12v, but im not sure.
if so something could be disconnected/broken at somepoint between there and the battery

If you look at the diagram on the fuse panel cover, it tells you where the X is. Its somewhere in the center of all the small fuses.

Have you up-rated your headlights or are they standard wattage? Have you tried putting a voltmeter over the battery when the car is not running, when it is running, and when all your lights are on?

My guess is that your battery is nearing the end of its life. The Celica (all modern cars actually) are pretty demanding on batteries. They tend to last around 3 years on average. If you have accessories such as neon or el-glow lighting; powerful car audio; or up-rated headlights, that can make the problem worse. I tend to notice that my battery is coming to the end of its life when I flash my high-beams and my mp3 player reboots.
