Only time I can think of was the time I was driving this windy, 2-lane country road, at dusk where you know its dark enough to use your headlights, buts its not exactly dark enough for them to really see far ahead of you type dusk... lol

anyway, I was driving around this big bend, and around the corner was this big ass deer sitting right smack in my lane. I was doing like 10 over, and if I slammed the breaks I wouldn't stop in time, to the right of me was this big ditch/pond/swamp whatever and in the left lane there was oncoming traffic... I ended up swerving into the left lane barely missing the deer but good thing traffic wasn't too close or I would have probably either hit the deer or end up in water. scared the crap outa me though thats for sure lol

I haven't had my celi long enough to have a really scary thing happen to me, but in my old accord I was drivin in some real heavy rain on teh freeway, the guy infront of me swerves onto the shoulder, and right infront of him was a dead-stopped car. I slammed my breaks but ended up plowing my car 100 feet into the median through mud and grass.

AAANd My dad argued with the cop who told me I had to get towed, and gave me a ticket for "failure to maintain a single lane"

havnt had my Celi long enough, although watching my mother back into it with her Van scared me because i thought i would have to kill her. biggrin.gif

But when i had my Ford Probe i was driving over an overpass over i45 and Bay Area here in Houston. Now keep in mind i was 18, this was my first car and it had an 8 pound turbo on it that we had..... ajusted a little. and it was during the last winter it snowed down here and the roads iced over. I was leaving Dennys at like 4 in the morning cuz i like free refills and me and my friends are night people, heading back to my appartment. I go over the overpass and gun it a little to hard, then the spin began. I did 2 360s going down the overpass. after the last 360 the tires cought again and i rolled down the street like nothing happend. i drove home at like 35mph the rest of the way home doing turns at like 5 mph and riding the clutch to make sure that it gripped. scared the hell out of me. I would say thats when i started practicing things before i tried them in cars on roads laugh.gif

In the line on scary and stupid things I have done as a driver there are 2 that are still fresh in my memory:
#1 being my trip to player158s house for the car meet a couple years back.
It all began with a trip to Virgina... then we all started cruising. Not till I took a very formidable 90 degree turn sideways I realized that I perhaps do not need to follow the caravan going 50 on a winding mountain road. Skip ahead skip ahead 2 days later on the way back I decided to traverse that very same route again but forgot that you need to drive like 20 miles under 25mph speed limit there to stay on the road. So im going like 60 going up the hill almost reaching the crest. All of a sudden I hear vroooooooooooooooooooooooom as my gas pedal sunk, I saw the birds... I saw the trees then maybe a solid 2-5 seconds later I fall to the ground breaking all my suspension and well if you read my posts on these forums I pretty much destroyed the structural integrity of my vehicle. By my crude estimate I had to be in air for at least 100ft and dropped from at least 20 ft height as the mountain road went for a sharp 45 degree down slope. Needless to say my car stalled, my car slammed to the ground.. I cant turn, cand move. Had to walk for a mile to see a house, payed some guy to basically drag my car across the asphalt to a safer place. Cut 2x4s.. jacked my car up and placed them things in between what was left of my coils and body of car. I was determined to make it to work the next day so I drove to new jersey like that.. leaking many different fluids and probably hurting the car even more.

#2 being stuck between 2 18 wheelers when they sandwitched me between themselved and we drove like that from exit 8 to exit 9a on i 95 in new jersey.. something like 20 miles. They did not hear my horn and neither saw me. I was pretty much stuck between where their trailer starts and right before rear tires with half of my car under each trailer. I was set free when one of them decided to switch lanes. Never in my life have I spent so much time trying to explain my coworkers why my roof was bent in, my pride hurt and I did not drive that highway again for at least 6 months.

I had a similar experience! It just got done raining though so thats why I lost traction. I was on the highway and just exited off my exit to work. It runs straight, 45mph speed limit, and then goes into a giant loop to merge onto the main street. Well, speed limit says 25mph on that giant loop. I was rockin out too to the music and didn't notice how fast I was going. I then noticed something in the steering when my rear started to move by itself. I was going 50mph and started losing traction into oversteer! On one end was a giant slope that goes into a pond. On the other, is a giant slope that is a cliff. Mind I was driving uphill. I was counter steering like crazy and kept swerving left and right without traction because I was counter steering too much evertime becuz I was freaking out! Then I counter steered a little bit and let off the gas completely and then gased it again and got traction. I slowed down and my hands were shaking and I got scared. I rolled down my windows to catch air. That was like 2 years ago. Yeah, some crazy ars shiz.

We were on a countryside road, back from crabbing. I was 100km from home doing abt 150km/hr, my eyes was closing on me and it was pitch black...I think I went to lala land for a couple of mins and somehow I "woke-up" finding myself driving in the middle of the road.....there were two cars coming from the opposite direction...

So for the rest of of the journey I shoved two match-sticks between my eyes to keep my eyelids from closing...

And THATS why they made that new law this year in FL stating that all trucks MUST be on the far right lane on I-4. Besides that, truckers are a nuisance here in FL. There are so many of them in the mornings till noon. They constantly block all the lanes.

I hydroplaned once, but that wasn't what got me. I'm a pretty decent driver (not trying to toot my own horn, I still wrecked) but as I was going through some major turns, my back tires gave way and I was pulling out of it pretty well. What got me was I hit a dry spot and I spun in the opposite direction. I could have gotten out of that as well if I hadn't went off the hill into someones front yard. I knicked a tree in doing so.

I was more mad than startled and was able to drive away.

(stupid bald tires)

to answer the question above.. no i did not get anything out of the 18 wheeler situation other than a nasty 1500 repair bill.

In regards to driving in the snow and hydroplaning. Those are the 2 most coolest things you could ever do. No I dont mean go out and crash into things. I hydroplane to and from work about 3 out of 5 working days in summer cause Florida torrential downpours really really know when I get on the road. They patiently wait till I get onto route 39. While hydroplaning I usually just floor it cause you have 2 choises.. wait it out or dont turn and or slow down. I have about 10 mile stretch from work to first turn with low traffic so its actually pretty entertaining.

Now driving in snow is the 2nd coolest thing that I will probably never do again now that I moved to Florida. I used to go into mountains on purpose to drive the living capow out of my celica. Just slap a couple of shains from home depot at a cost of 24.99 per set. x2 and wheeeeeeeeeee

Thats actually how I learned to do donuts in a front wheel drive. Our celicas have so much oversteering that anything on ice and or snow becomes slip and slide.

I also used to go to big parking lots and just side drift he he he.

I was minding my own business in my Celica, just listening to some Above & Beyond tunes. The light turns yellow and all of a sudden, I hear this screeching THUUUUUUUUU followed by smoke. I thought I was going to get hit or something. It was loud, and it took me by surprise. I was shaking. What happened? An 18 wheeler driver decided to do that cool driveshaft brake thing right besides me. laugh.gif

Oh, I did an involuntary Tokyo Drift when I started hydroplanning a 70 MPH. The road looked dry from far away. rolleyes.gif It made me shake, too. tongue.gif

driving home just now was pretty scary. driving at night when its snowing hard with no visibility and an inch or two of fresh snow overlaying ice on the road and hydroplaning on slush spots is not fun kindasad.gif good news, my new tires have been pretty good in the snow last couple days and i can make it up my driveway easier biggrin.gif most of my scary moments have been in snow. last year i was going around a corner and understeered right off the road and came about a foot from hitting a pole.

I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.

SCARY TREES:
over a year ago i was driving my gf back to her house one night during a storm, and vermont roads are far from straight and have alot of ups and downs. I was doing 50 in a 50 in the rain with my summer rims and i crest a hill in the dark and as my eye catches the road again i see a down tree laying across both lanes, all i could do was slam on the brake and brace myself. You all know that sound of locking up your tires in the rain right? well add that to a huge bang and in my situation the tree was about 5" in diameter and I nailed it so hard it jolted me and my gf in our seats frontward and sent my car a little sideways...I thought I nailed it with my tires but luckily since i lowered my car the log hit those closed off small hooks we have sticking out of the underside plastic....I made the log roll almost 75ft from where my car stopped.....all that happened was i ripped the underbody plastic out of my passenger side...

MY WORST SO FAR:
Another scary incident i had (which is why i don't race around anymore...happened 2 years ago) was I was following my friend in his brothers audi...this audi was running on 3 cyls bc it had an issue so my 1.8 celi was able to keep up...I was riding his ass and our lane went from 1-2..well we hit 80mph and the road we are on has 2 lanes for us and 1 for the other side...well we come up to a van and a red honda side by side blocking us and my friend goes around...well i'm 20 ft behind him and as i'm going around too headlights are no longer blocked by his car and I'm not going to make it..(he made it just in time)..so all i could do was slam on my brakes and turn the car into the 2 lanes i should be in and I locked up my tire and put the car almost sideways and I was so close to the honda that i couldn't see the ground under them.... my other friends who were about 300 yards behind us and said ...they couldn't see the road through all the smoke i left.....i drove home at 30 mph due to the case of the shakes and i had put such a huge flat spot on my tire...never race on the streets....bc i would have killed not only myself but the people in 2-3 other cars that night

I was driving down I-540 and I saw what looked to me like a piece of sheet metal lying on the road. I thought to myself. Ha its a piece of sheet metal and i'll just run it right over. Well upon 15 ft of running it over, It turned out to be a 25 ft long Steel ladder lying in the middle of the road. I was on the left lane and there was a car next to me on the right.
Unable to do anything I swerived to the left going into the grass I came to a stop and my car died, because I forgot to step on the clutch *not auto*, 5 secs later a huge semi Followed me and came into the grass too. I was scared as hell because it came in there to avoid the ladder and was closing in on me. All I could do was either run out of the car and jump away as the celi gets destroyed or stay in there and die. Luckly the Semi guy saw me and quickly jumped bac on to the road. I was so lucky. I just turn my car back on drove as far as I can on the grass to get away from that area.

So far my rim was scratched and the tire had a gash in it the size of a dime. I was so lucky I didn't ran the ladder over or get hit by the semi.

meeting a fully loaded gravel truck in a turn on a winding road. i came down into the tight right-hand turn from uphill with all four wheels on my side. he took the left-hander very wide with his driver's-side wheels on my side of the yellow line. truck on the left, 40m drop on the right, i thought we were going to bounce of each other. i held my breath and nudged the shoulder on my right with the tires complaining. everything seemed to happen in slo-mo even though we were travelling at around 80-90 kph head on. check out the link if you want an idea of the roads i was on.

There's a turn by my house that's banked really nicely, but is practically a 90 degree turn. You can't tell that it's like that till you're right on top of it as well. I was on my way to pick up a CDJ (I used to spin Minimal Tech/Deep House) and passed up a slow driver in the far right lane. There's also a 530, some infinity, and a civic all surrounding me with about 20-50 feet in between us.

I was on the inside lane, took it at 83 (40 is around the normal people take it at) and didn't take it correctly. I realized that my entry was too fast when I saw my lane make a sudden turn to the right, so I hit the brakes and continued to try and get through the turn. I got through about 60% before my crap tires lost traction (cooper touring) and my back end spun wide. I corrected, but was too hard on the brakes and got it to lose more traction while it slid to the right and spun me all the way around. I remember looking the 530 driver in the eyes, him giving me this perplexed and scared look. I then missed the other cars by a safe distance and slid into a guard rail at about 20. Since I still had the wheel turned to the left, my front passenger tire hit the railing causing me to bounce off a little. I sat there, shooken up, and decided to at least get the car off of the off ramp, so I started it back up, put it in gear, and turned it around. To my surprise, it drove pretty well, just had an alignment issue, so I decided to pull into a parking lot to check it out.

Thanks to my wheel being turned, I saved all damage to my door and quarter panel; all the damage was sustained in the tire and passenger fender. I freaked out when I saw it, but honestly it's just a 12" crease and bubble in the lip with no damage to the paint, you can't even notice it unless it's pointed out. Unfortunately when I pulled away I scraped the quarter panel on the rail and burned some of the paint, but it's an easy fix with a little work and blending.

It was a crappy moment indeed, I got a quote for $3,000 to get it fixed up by Cal West. They are supposed to be the best around, but I got orange peel on my paint after they fixed it from the drunk driver who ran into it when parked. I actually have some friends that work at BMW who do body work on ferraris and lambos who said they'll do it for pretty cheap, just need to find a good couple days.

These pictures were taken after the accident. As you can see, I really really really got lucky in how I hit that rail.

Oh, and I never got the CDJ, the guy never showed...

This is easy, since I've only had my Celica a week:

bought the car with bad tires, I was driving on a wet mountain road I'd never been on before, came up upon a sharp blind curve. Well... I didn't realize how sharp it was, so I downshifted to power around the curve (this car is too much fun to drive), and then I saw it. Much more of a curve then it looked, and I was heading right towards a bunch of big rocks some rich guy put out front of his property (so people would run into them, said the tow truck driver). I tried to brake, but the wheels locked up, and I went right into one of the rocks. Ouch. Good news is it will be back on the road in a few weeks.

First things first...

Crappy cell phone picture. The girl on the right looks better in person, the girl on the left looks much, much worse.

I went to a movie one night and these two girls happened to be there. I'm not really friends with either of them, but I know them. My movie got out at 12:30 in the morning, and as I walked to my car, I didn't know they were behind me. Just as I put my key in my door to unlock my car, the girl on the right grabbed my ribs, trying to tickle me. I seriously thought I was getting mugged, so I threw my left elbow back as hard as I could, seriously looking to knock somebody out or at least buy some time. As I made contact, I turned around and leaned up against my car, and I saw the girl on the right laying on the ground holding her eye. I say my car key laying on the ground, so I thought I never got it in the lock and dropped it. Here's the scary part... While I was making Brianna feel better, I saw the girl on the left get in my car and try to take it!!!! AAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She grabbed my key from the ground and was trying to steal my car!!! Lucky me, when I turned around though, my fat butt broke the key off in the door so she couldn't take it anywhere. wink.gif I was s***ing bricks though when I saw her in my car. Scary.

Man, there have been some terrible things happen in Celicas... I'm disappointed to see that there have been this many posts in this thread.

Note to self: Take no turns at 60mph while it's sleeting.

Slid into the next lane. I would've been fine but a van was in the oncoming lane, so I swerved to avoid the head on collision and slid on the sleet, hit a tree on the front right of the car, did a 180 and hit another tree with my driver's door. Was prolly traveling around 35ish when I impacted. Fun Fun, hehe biggrin.gif

I know who she is, but still... I can't even describe her. She never shuts up. She's always asking me to go on a date with her. She's 17 and already had 2 miscarriages. And when I saw her in my car, I seriously freaked out. Thank god she's too slow to even figure out how to start a 5 speed. I guess I'm really lucky that this is the scariest thing that has ever happened to me and my Celi tongue.gif But the deer coming through my driver's side window was a close second.

a couple of nights ago i was at my friends just watching movies, and i fell asleep. at like 12am. my friend then woke me up at 130am saying there was 3 cars parked around my car. so i go look out the window and sure enough there was a civic, neon, and integra. there were probably 8 guys that got out and were walking around my car, looking at it and just talking. they were there for like 5 minutes and the entire time i was ****ting bricks. then they left and nothing happened. but i am NEVER going back to his house. ive never been so scared-for my celica that is-

they could have been admiring it or it was the previous owner or some gang wanting to steal my red steering wheel cover that is UBER ghetto. either way. i hope that never happens again!

My experience was a couple years ago. It was in December, and I was heading to work. Where I lived at the time it was much faster for me to drive the backroads, so this one particular cold winter morning, I was driving to work, when all of a sudden 3 or 4 horses ran out in front of me. I slammed on the brakes and locked the wheels up and missed the last horse by a few inches. It's hoof was over the hood of my car as I slid past them. I slid to a stop and got out to look for the horses, and they were gone.

Better than this happening.

when my car was auto, and I got it back from the paint booth, the tranny was acting crazy. It wouldn't shift correctly, it wouldn't shift sometimes, or it would miss 2nd gear or it would go into neutral while driving. but thats all in the past with the manual conversion.

It's really not that difficult to fishtail a FWD car, happened to me in my Oldsmobile taking a turn too fast. In a hurry+ rain= don't mix.

I don't know that you guys should be posting the speeds you were going in this thread. Doesn't really make the 6gc scene or this site look good.

Well, he's pretty much an idiot for driving 110 on what I'm assuming is a), a public road, and b), a place where a car shouldn't be driven at that speed anyway. rolleyes.gif

Was driving in heavy fog at the speed limit but obviously too fast for the conditions just before the corner I see HUGE tree blocking the whole road, both sides, I couldn't even see over the top of it, anyway I locked up and was going slowly towards it and I couldn't do anything other than go straight into it, probably hit it at about 5-10kph, I had about 10 metres to stop lol.

other than that, have had the odd oversteer moment, hit oil once. Celicas stock are quite a safe car and are pretty hard to get into oversteer but it still happens.

when i had my '93 st i was going to UTI in Illinois i was on my way back from bestbuy. as i was heading north on a boulevard in the number two lane when someone heading south decided to turn left. and instead of looking right for traffic he looked left, and started to pull out. about fifty feet from him i slam on my brakes locking all four wheels up and sliding into him at about 40-45 mph. after the impact the first thing i remember was not being able to breath and then i realized that my steering wheel looked weird, and then it hit me, HOLY SH*T I WAS JUST IN A CRASH. after i turn my car off, yes it was still running and popped out of fourth, i roll out of the seat and shakily stand up i see that when i hit the other guy i pushed his car 15 feet up a curb and into a street sign... yea my car totaled his car, which was a '99 sonata, totaled. i never want to go through that again. oh and the guy i hit was fine except for a broken nose, i was just shaken up but ok.

the other one i have takes place in Illinois again this time with my '97 st, i was leaving a parking lot at night onto a main road, when the traffic cleared i pulled up to see if anyone was coming but it was hard to see past the car that was next to me turning left so i kept creeping forward and didnt see anything so i started to pull out when out of the corner of my eye i see a light, fu*k, as i look to my left i see in slow motion a motorcycle, triumph? touring type bike, hit my driver front wheel and the bike bucks them off the driver of the bike lands on my hood and his, girlfriend/wife i dont know, flew over him and landed in front of my car. i had to crawl out my driver window because the bike was pinning my door shut to see if they were ok, they were fine just a few scrapes. i still have the car needed to have the rim refurbished, the fender, wheel well liner replaced and an alignment done.

those would have to be the two scariest things that have happened to me

some woman pulled a u-turn in front of me while i was doing about 55 mph, not very scary except i saw her 8 year old little girl looking out the back window at me as i realized there was no way i was going to miss her.....

but i didn't mind too much after as it lead to my rebuild to what it is today.

Snow surfin' downhill in 6 inches of new snow at 50 miles an hour w/those 205/70's, it drifted all the way into the left lane and went about a quarter mile before the tires got their grip back, thankfully it was after 11pm so the traffic was gone.

driving to LA from SD on the 5 at around 6pm in the #2 lane. See an expedition in the #3 lane start to merge into an sc300 in the #4 lane so I start to slow down and get on the breaks because I can see something going very wrong. The sc300 realizes he is about to get side swiped by the dumby in the expedition, and he swerves hard to the right... heading straight for the wall on the side of the freeway, he tries to correct by steering hard to the left and ends up doing a 360 in the middle of the freeway. He gets hit in the right rear quarter panel by the expedition who almost side swiped him, and then shoots straight backwards and passes just infront of my car narrowly missing me as debris, car parts, and pieces of tire are flying around the entire freeway. The sc300 then slams back first straight into the center divide, and is instantly t-boned by a RAM2500 and two other sedans at almost full speed. The Ram and two other cars in the car pool lane who hit the sc300 had no idea it was coming and had very little time to react hitting at almost full speed.

...that was an adrenaline rush

one year ago driving from michigan to Pa, i was on the ohio turnpike in pouring down rain... going the speed limit i go under a bridge and at the other end find that the water had accumulated to over a foot deep.... my car hydroplaned... i was in the center lane of three... the car spun to the left half a turn sending me in reverse against the jersey barrier in the center of the turnpike.. my tires then caught and sent me in the reverse direction two and a half spins to the other side of the highway where i came to a rest... on the embankment... facing the right direction.. not a scratch on her... but my fingers locked tightly in the death grip... for about 15 minutes... i've learned many times that our cars can sometimes just be tooooo light

I haven't had any bad experiences in my Celica other than someone almost sideswiping me. However, I have had a few REALLY bad senarios in my Prius. Here's a couple:

It was winter with a good layer or snow on the highway. This is when my commute was over an hour long to work. I was on the highway with everyone else, giving myself tons of room behind the person in front of me because my Prius is horrible in the snow. All of a sudden, the two cars ahead of me hit each other, their headlights showing them spinning full circle at least 3 times. I slam on my brakes, but like the other two people, find myself on a solid sheet of ice with my car not slowing down worth a damn. The two cars ahead of me start to veer off the road and I pass them just as soon as they spin off into the snow covered grass. The car decided to get a bit of traction about 30 feet after that and I started to slow down. Not only was it pure luck that I missed them, but I still am amazed I was able to maintain being straight and not spin out like the other two did.

The second was when it was raining heavily in downtown Columbus. There is this one sharp turn in the highway with a cement wall on the left. Because of the wall, you can't see on the other end of the turn. Remember, my Prius is horrid in snow or rain. I'm driving down this road and get to the curve, and the SUV in front of me literally leaps into the air, with his two front wheels over the cement wall. He had hit a long line of cars that he couldn't see because of this blind spot. I was following too close behind him and tried to hit my brakes, but instantly noticed I had no grip, and without looking in a split second decision, veered off into the middle lane. Luckily I didn't hit anyone and the lane was free. I barely missed hitting his SUV. Probably by less than a foot. THere were at least 10 cars in that pile up at the time I went by. The white car behind me ended up hitting the SUV I missed.

Those are two of the scariest situations I was in. Makes you realize just how lucky you are. Hopefully, that luck will keep up smile.gif.

hm........ welll i've never gotten my celica on the road yet, but over the summer i was going to the movies with a friend in my del sol, and i felt like racing with an audi, we were even up until about 95 and i started to pull away, i shifted into fourth and as soon as i hit 103 mph my front driver side tire blew out and i was sliding down the interstate sideways at 100 mph infront of the audi and oh my you should of seen the girls in the audis faces. long story short after it was all done me and my buddy changed the tire and got there numbers.

but the scariest part out of all that was the fact that the roof was off. haha.

only damage to the car was that the fender got crinkled and my side skirt flew off, oh and the clear turn signal flew off the car too. ha but all in all it could of been WAYYYYYYY worse. ha.

Since I've only just purchased my first Celica, I hope you don't mind if I talk about my single most scary moment which as in my 1st gen MR2 (non turbo) -hey its still a Toyota!

It was a long time ago but I'll never forget it. I was driving from my home-town (Christchurch) to Wellington, where I'd just landed a new job and was about to start a new life for myself.

I had stayed the night in a small township (can't even remember where anymore) after driving about 60-70% of the way, and was going to to the rest of the journey early in the morning in time to catch the Ferry to Wellington.

So it was a clear and very cold morning, and there was very little traffic on the roads -which was a very important fact considering what was about to happen.

I know I was feeling very reflective about leaving Christchurch and all my friends and family to a new city where I knew practically no one. I was a little concerned about getting to the Ferry on time and consequently was driving faster than I should have been. Even though the sun was shining and the roads were clear, it had been a very cold night and there was ice on the roads. It seems a truck had gone through some spots and dropped gravel at certain corners to help break the ice up.

But I wasn't thinking about road conditions, just getting to my destination on time. So at one point I was cresting a slight hill that was also turning gently to the right. On one side was flat and vertical rock-face, on the other was a sheer drop with nothing but some flimsy wire fencing to stop you going over. It happened very quickly, and everything I did was pure instinct. Firstly I noticed the crunching of gravel on my tires, next I noticed the back starting to slide out. I was doing about 110-120kms an hour when this happened. I over-corrected and the back started to slide in the other direction, but more vigorously now. I think I had also started hitting the breaks, but I really don't know for sure. I remember thinking Oh my god I'm going to go over the sheer drop followed by Oh my go I'm going to smash into the rock face -and I remember thinking this multiple times as I fish-tailed from one side of the road to the other. I know I was working the steering wheel like I've never worked it before, desperately trying to avoid either side of the road. Finally, and in dramatic fashion, I did a massive 180 skid that left me on the wrong side of the road looking back the way I came. I sat there for a moment with my hands frozen on the steering wheel. Then I told myself that I was in an incredibly dangerous situation as anyone coming the other way would not see me until it was too late. The car wouldn't start and I felt a massive surge of panic hit me. I could visualise a car flying into me at high speed. So I put the car in neutral and let it slowly roll down the hill (I was on the other side of it now and was on the descent) and at the same time turned the wheel so I'd be facing the right way. well that was the plan but I ended up sitting in the middle of the road with my car describing a letter T, so now I was in danger from both directions. I tried the ignition again and thank god it fired up. I calmly got myself underway again, and counted the minutes before I saw another vehicle coming the other way, which was about 3-4 minutes after I'd got going again.

While continuing my drive (at a much safer speed) I started to feel an overwhelming sense of massive elation. Elation that I was still alive. Everything I thought mattered seemed completely trivial now. I felt like I'd won lotto. I kept saying to myself that I should be dead or seriously injured, instead I got away scott free. The high lasted for a few days, and for the next couple of months it would come back to me occasionally. Eventually though, I went back to concerning myself with trivialities

Well, nothing real scary...but perhaps my car is a magnet for being rear-ended at less than five MPH.

You can't see it well, but that line right above the bumper crease is the gist of it. Kid in a 2002 Mustang hit the gas when he thought I was making a right into traffic, while I was only barely beginning to, basically just inching along waiting to cross three lanes. Police deemed it was his fault, and I'm hoping his insurance pays for it. If not, I'll have a pretty messed up bumper since another guy did the same thing to me about half a year ago and spider-webbed the hell out of the left bumper corner. I've also hit a trash can in my driveway (it was laying down, couldn't see it in my rear view mirror). So yeah, a resprayed bumper would be quite nice.

Are you lowering? I see a strut laying there.

And I have a new scariest thing: I didn't hit the corner of a highway on-ramp correctly when I was chasing Samir on the cruise. As a result, my ass end started sliding out. Scariest & most fun experience in my car, hands down.

ok, so i'm driving in town last year when the s.u.v. in front of me pulls off to the right, no big deal she is way down the road and i figure she is parking and keep on my merry way, the road is wide enough to pass so i don't even lift off the gas (doing about 45 mph) unfortunatly she is not parking but pullin over to pull an illegal u-turn, as its two late to avoid her i just hit the brakes and hope for the best. the scary thing was, as i am about to hit her and i know there is nothing i can do i see she has a young girl in the back seat looking at me...... no-one was hurt and luckily for me she had good insurance so i got my baby fixed right up. here are some pics,
