hey guys if i wanted to make my own custom hood how would i put vents in it and should i use bondo or fibergalss or what for raising it?

usually you would make a mold of somekind...if i were you i would just go to pep boys and find scoopes you like cut them out in your hood then just bondo them in place and smooth it up if you wanted them fully functional....doing it this way would be better because then you can put whatever you think looks best where ever you want....just a litte more time/work...keep us posted though if you do decide to do it with pics it would be interesting.

Fiberglass and metal don't bond very well, head and vibrations can really wreak havoc on the seams.

I bought some generic scoop off ebay. Used rivets, gorilla glue, bondo and fiberglass to mount and mold it.
Even after all of that, the seams are showing through the paint. It's just really hard to do on a metal hood. I've even considered getting a carbon fiber hood sanding off the "carbon fiber" and redoing it on the fiberglass. -------------------- |
