I would love to see this guy as president - the only problem is that he won't get the Republican nomination and if he runs as an independent, a vote for him would most likely be a vote for Hillary and I am not going to do anything to support her.

Sorry, but he has some great views but he lost my vote. Between the crazy supporters of his, the death threat on Glenn Beck from his supporters and his weird history.
I like his view on the Constitution, but I would not be able to handle his psycho supporters if he was elected. He is a wasted vote for Rep. and as stated, basically giving the Dems a lead. -------------------- |

Yeah, that's exactly why this political system is screwy.
You won't vote for someone because of his/her supporters? And you won't vote for someone because it'll give the Democrats a vote because nobody else will vote for this guy? If everyone voted for him who wanted him, then it would be a clear indicator of what this country wants, instead people fall into line with candidates who can't do the job. I won't vote for Hilary, but I will vote for Obama. -------------------- |

They elected Bush when they as a group would have overwhelming would have favored Gore (and elected him) if it had been a two person race. So, what is screwier? Supporting your first choice understanding that your third choice will be elected or supporting and electing your second choice? What is his plan again? Remove the IRS and replace it with nothing. Then give a flat tax on everything out there.
Yeah yeah, great idea. England tried that a few hundred years ago, how did that end up? -------------------- |

I like him, mainly because he wants to limit federal government and let people do their thing and worry about our country instead of others. On top of that there's the couple of other things I don't agree with him on. Mainly the disagreement of Roe V. Wade. I may still vote for him.

Yeah yeah, great idea. England tried that a few hundred years ago, how did that end up? here again http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWfIhFhelm8 have you listened to him? he clearly states that in order to eliminate the income tax, government first must dramatically reduce its spending abroad and at home. if on the other hand we want government to take care of us from "cradle to grave" and engage in nation-building, then the income tax cant be abolished. limited government is key there are a few issues i disagree on with him, but he is the only candidate that is authentic and sticks to his principles no matter what. all of the other candidates are professional politicians clearly in it for themselves. they would do anything just to get the vote, and it makes me sick. who else can say all this? He has never voted to raise taxes. He has never voted for an unbalanced budget. He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership. He has never voted to raise congressional pay. He has never taken a government-paid junket. He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch. He voted against the Patriot Act. He voted against regulating the Internet. He voted against the Iraq war. He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program. He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year. Congressman Paul introduces numerous pieces of substantive legislation each year, probably more than any single member of Congress.
