No... you can't use the AWD tranny for a FWD car...

I'd recommend using a tranny from an MR2 Turbo / V6 Solara (E153) or the tranny that's used with a 3S-GE. You can use the tranny that's used with a 5S-FE(S54), but I don't think this will last very long with high HP applications.

I know that there's a 6th gen owner pushing around 450 HP with the S54, but I don't know if he's currently using this tranny. I know several people who's S54 popped on them...

you could take your tranny to a transmission shop and have them tune it for you so it can handle high hp.... that way you don't have to worry about if it's going to fit right and all..

You see mac, i dont thinks were is a way to fit 7A-FE trany to 3S-GTE... And the only thing that i can use is trany from 3S-GE, and here the problem goes. In lithuania these engines are so rare that is NO cars in junk year with such engines. 5S-FE engines are only produced for USDM.. So i will have problems finding trany. About the engine, i found one, but it is in UK and the price is reasonable, but i dont think i will go for it... Cuz i dont want to buy "cat in the bag", cuz i dont know much about that engine (miles, compresion, turbo status and etc..)
