I am amazed that the Giants made it. After Tynes choked on both of those field goals I was shocked !!!

They're gonna get killed against the Pats in 2 weeks biggrin.gif

They didn't get killed the first time, in a game they should have won.

First Dallas, then GB, first 2 losses have been avenged. Their last loss will be avenged!!!

The last game of the season, Giants vs. Pats was an amazing game, losing by 3 points; how this is going to be a bad superbowl after the Giants just had an amazing game with Green Bay and a win vs. Dallas, I don't know how you could say that.

What else do the Giants have to do, besides beat Dallas and Green Bay and win the NFC to make you people believe?!?!

GGGGGGGGGGGG MEN!

Yep...the Packers did not show up in the second half, and Favre blew it at the end. Favre looked kinda frozen like the tundra out there. And wow, Eli Manning has finally become a real man, but man, he has still has that boyish look. If you did not who he was, you would just think he is an average Joe by his looks.

So, do you think Favre will retire now? Quite an emotional season for him to come that far then blow it on one play in the NFC Championship.

farve is not going to retire now..he's at the top of his game and his team is too...he has at least another year or 2 under his belt...he's not as old as everyone thinks he is...he's only like 38...most people think he's like in his 40's..i mean yea thats old but his experience level is thorugh the roof and if he were to retire now he'd be making a big mistake...i think next season will be as good as this one was for them if not better...so i see no reason for him to retire

QUOTE
the play calling and penalties killed the packers, end of story

You mean when the touchdown by the Giants was called back for a holding call or the roughness call by the Giants that allowed GB to keep a drive alive and score a TD?

Pack had 1 big play after the coverage fell down, and thats it. They were outplayed. Plain and simple. Nobody likes sore losers.

We know who we have to play, the team that should have lost in the last game of the season.

Any given Sunday gentlemen. Giants are full of surprises, it's happened 3 times this post season.

It's a great story for both teams. An undefeated perfection of a season vs. a turn around season of an underdog nobody would give a chance...

should have...but didn't.
but anyways, honestly i am not surprised the giants are in...They are a VERY underrated team. And i would much rather play the packs than the giants only because i know how strong of a team the Giants are. but it will Def. be a fun game to watch. With the nice weather, lots of offense in this one!

so you are saying that recording other teams play signs isn't cheating? then why were the patriots fined earlier this season?

i really hope they lose. tom brady is a douche. they play really well but still. they need to lose. i still can't believe they didn't lose to baltimore. that was so ridiculous. if only baltimores coach didn't call that time out.
oh well. hind sight is 20/20

A lot of teams do it, generally the signs are changed for every game so that it helps. I think they were just made an example of.

That being said. I really really want them to lose. Nothing against them, great team, but obviously.

LOL. Giants don't have a chance in HELL to win. First off they are playing in AZ. What does that mean? Really really nice weaher. Brady hasn't played so hot lately due to the weather, regardless of what he says. Hes a stud. No way the Pats will go down.

Do you watch football? They lost 38-35 against the Pats. That's a pretty decent game.

Everyone said they don't have a chance against Tampa Bay. Then Dallas that they lost to twice. Then Green Bay that they lost to. Keep saying it because it only helps.

BTW: Arizona is a dome. Weather is a non factor.

He's a stud? laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif Stop hatin'.

What im saying is that if you watched the whole season, you would see that the Pats Destroyed any record ever made ( a little exaggerated). But they proved they they had no knowledge of it and that they did not need it to win. But anyways, my prediction is 31-24 NE

smart post.

Since 01 they have never lost after a bye week, meaning anytime they have 2 weeks to prepare for an opponent they don't lose to them. I can't see them losing to a Giants team that was so inconsistant all season, a team they faced a month ago and seen everything they could throw at them, and I cannot see Eli reading the defencive coverage the Pats are going to show him.

yes they almost lost to the Giants, Ravens, Colts, and Philly but they always find a way to win. The seem to always capitolize on other's mistakes.

Sometimes in sports there is a team that is just so in sync that they just cannot lose. This is one of those teams. In my wildest dreams I never thought the Pats would go undefeated in the reg season, I don't think anyone would of believed it. We're all watching history and it's probably never going to happen again for another 25-30 years.

Pats 31-21

Yes they did. But the blame should not be only on Romo. It was a team loss. Lots of missed tackles etc. Romo is a good QB that just had a poor game.

And why shouldn't the Pats be on tv every minute....you are watching History in the making. Like batman said, this will not happen for another 35 years, if in fact it ever will happen. Even if they arnt your team, acknowledge how great of a team they are, and accept that they are in fact a dynasty and Thee best team the NFL has ever seen. And im not just saying this because im a fan, if this was even the Colts (which i hate so badly) i would not mind hearing about them everyday on sportscenter because i know this might not happen again in my lifetime. Sorry your team is out, but This is History right here, so if you dont want to watch, dont put it on.

i dont knock em they deserve it, but thier is overkill ya know, i mean the way its going why dont we call it the national patriot leauge, cuz right now 31 other teams are ignored. heck even the giants are basically ignored and their the super bowl challengers. and i know your a pats fan but why you hate the colts, they have 1 superbowl you have3 possibly 4 here, you win any arguement. my main complaint is not the team its the media coverage, im not talking about th 2 week superbowl hype that's understandable, ive been talking about the all year long thing. I mean why we have any other team play the only thing people care about is the pats.
similar situtaion on cable news, you cant get any news but politics!
THE ELECTION IS NOT UNITL NOVEMBER! give it a rest, i want to hear about housing markets and how my feloow marines are doing in iraq and afghanistan........

media overkill media overkill i hate it, think ill just boycott tv or soemthing

True, it was a team effort. Saw that when T.O was bawling. I am just thinking Romo was getting a bit too cocky for his own good.

Also: I don't know how someone can put a number on how often it (an undefeated season) will happen; because you really can't know.

I will not say the Pats now are the best team the NFL has ever seen. A great team maybe, the best ever...hard to say that.

If in fact they do go 19-0...i think that will qualify as the best team ever, also looking at all the records that were broken not only the personal records like most receptions, pass tds, rec. tds, but also as a team....total points...etc etc. I do believe that will qualify as the best team ever.

if they don't win the superbowl then they will not be considered the best team ever, only the best regular season team ever I would imagine.

It's still hard to believe the Giant are in the superbowl...

The pats aren't as good as all those records might indicate when comparing to other great teams. First off their schedule, They played the jets, bills, and dolphins twice...Self-explanatory. When it came down to it they played the chargers at the beginning of the season, when they were new to the system and were losing to everyone. They played the Colts when the Colts had about 6-8 starters missing due to injury. They played the Steelers when they were on the slide. On top of that schedule they kept their starters in until the end of the game even w/ homefield locked up.

I love my sports but this year I try to avoid sportscenter as much as possible because every other conversation was about them. I also can't stand Tony kornheiser anymore, he brought up the pats in every single game he covered. Even when it's 2 NFC teams going at it he still finds a way to bring them in, what an ass.

That being said I refused to watch the AFC champ game but I did watch the NFC game and what a great game that was. I liked both teams going into it and I must say the better team is moving on. Congrats Giants fans and I'll be cheering for ya in Feb. The Arizona dome will hurt the Giants defense's chances but theres still a chance.

P.S. If you didn't catch this I extremely dislike the Pats and their bandwagon fan base which has increased 50 fold in 7 years.

First off, its not just about winning being the only reason why the Pat's are good. Its how they win. you want to talk about the easy schedule they have, go ahead. there's always an excuse to justify one's opinions. When it comes down to it, yes the Eagles almost beat the pats, yes Baltimore probably should have beat them, yes the Giants put up one hell of a game. But in the end, they find a way to win. Now you want to blame that one team being on a slide, go for it. You want to say because of injuries, go for it. but i do remember you saying that they beat the chargers when they were new in the season...well, did you watch the game last week? what, your gonna tell me that it was because L.T was sitting on the sidelines? hate to tell you, but michael turner has been running the ball just as good if not better than l.t in the past few games. So i dont knock you for not supporting the pats, i mean hey, everyones has their team. but to say they aren't as good as records indicate is a false statement and you are one of few who think they are not that great of a team.

ps. i feel the same about it as you do, people jumping on the bandwagon pisses me off too, but hey, nothing you can do about it.

T-rav, out

haha spoken like a true hater.
Go Pats

i'm from detroit, i learned not to enjoy football a long time ago. my bastard side wants nothing else than the pats NOT to have their perfect season.

i am rooting for the giants for no other reason.

edit: after watching tom brady talk smack after the and diego game, how they weren't playing well and still managed to win...i was overcome with hope that they don't take the super bowl. ny was the underdog going into the packers game, i hope they can keep their heads up in arizona.

The Chargers have the best secondary in football and the pats found a way to
score. I personally want to see Jr. Seau stomp on the little punk mannings head.
He is my least favorite player in the NFL. He was to good to play for the chargers
when they picked him, for that he will always be a wuss in my mind. The Giants have
had a good year if they had a qb with some sort of consistancy I might give them a chance.
Go Patriots!!!

WTF kind of reasoning is that? Who cares if it says New York or New Jersey? You can't root for a team that has York instead of Jersey? Why can you root for the Patriots who have New England instead of Foxborough? Same logic. Giants are the same team regardless, New York just sounds better and it was pointless to switch names when all they did was move across the river.

The Dallas Cowboys play in Irving, Texas but you don't see them changing their name to the Irving Cowboys. The Washington Redskins play in Maryland...not a real big deal people. Teams are businesses and it's marketing.

I think New Jersey Giants just sounds gay. That'd be like rooting for the Sheboigan Warriors or the Deluth Chargers. Okay, that's fictional. Then it'd be like rooting for the Landover Redskins or something!

Because the new england patriots are playing for the area, which is new england. And what? The "New York" Giants are representing New York? Um, We already have a new york team which would be Buffalo. It just bothers me that they take New Yorks name...It's my opinion and you have yours...we are all entitled.

Yeah I just wish I could understand where that opinion comes from.

Giants played in New York (Yankee Stadium) for 50 years before they moved 15minutes down the road, still remaining in the area they "represent", the NYC metro area and the Bills started playing in 1960 so NY already having a team could have applied to the Bills a long time ago. Teams are businesses, doesn't have anything to do with where they play or by what name they use. Many teams don't play exactly in their "representative" city - even Buffalo plays in the suburbs of Buffalo (Orchard Park). So this is why I don't understand picking on the Giants and not applying that same reasoning to all aspects of thinking (hypocrisy). But w/e GO GIANTS! 3 days!

well put, try going to a san diego chargers home game against the raiders. You'll see the stadium blacked out. Just because the team resides in Oakland doesn't mean it's fan base does.

BTW i'm not a raiders fan

Actually my dad likes the Jets, and I liked the Jets before i met Chris.

If i have to i will dig up the pic of me with my nails painted green with J-E-T-S written on my nails in 98 when they played for the AFC east title.

On the Super Bowl Monday thing- They have a website somewhere to make that a national holiday all you have to do is sign the petition

Idk what the site is off the top of my head :-P
