I guess I should be more specific. What (if any) engine management systems do you 3sgte guys use. I think I might get one and I just want to know what you guys use and what you recomend I get.

Well, I dont have a turbo... Im still in my parts purchasing stage...

However seeing as no one else is replying to this... I hear GRAND thing about this Greddy ultimate edition. It's CPU bassed so its perfect for me... (I repair and sell CPU's on the side... have one wired up for my trunk right now, just need to get a screen)

Just a thought... My 2 cents... Good luck!!

I havent heard much on the Spectre EMS, so i woulnt know...

As for the greddy ultimate, it's supposed to plug into your cars computer, and control everything that you car can control electronically.

As for me, I have a laptop, and it'll be used for my 5sfte setup, but eventualy when i find an extra flat monitor, i Plan to build a pc into the car. It's what i do... Dont ask...

Myspace.com/d_man85 and look at my pics, you'll see all my computers, Including Frankencomputer, witch i'm typing on now... biggrin.gif

Tight tight... yeah I have a laptop and I used to be into computers I even got microsoft certified a few years back so yeah I can build them too. I'll just plug a laptop into it though. So its supposed to be great huh. Like control injectors and such? Do you need a harness specifically for us or what?

Thanks

Matt - A suggestion. Go with stock ECU until all the gremlins are gone first. There will be some and they will be baffleing. Better to start from something that is easily diagnosed [by comparison] and add goodies later. Just buy a good clip, get Tweak to do your wiring, rebuild the engine, install and be happy. Sounds like alot - but it's best.

I have a clip... have had a clip for 3 years... this swap was screwed up 3 years ago by a company im trying to get it fixed. I want a management system when all the bugs are fixed. BTW Matt what do you do to get your 3s to pass emissions.

for the 3s, the 2 most popular plug and play systems are the AEM and the hydra nemisis.
you should base your decision on what EMS your tuner is most familiar with.

And eveyone in the room is saying:

But this thread got rollin when they saw ME answering questions; Muahahahahah biggrin.gif

So please fill me in because I am new to this ems stuff. The AEM or the hydra how do they plug in?? they will go directly with a Tweak harness?? Just wondering thanks again.

There is no reason for you to buy an ems. Get the car running on the factory ecu.
Then once you have the swap running for a while, youll have a better understanding of what you need to upgrade and why.

Exactly what I said - by all means - add this later but work out the gremlins first. It will make things alot easier. Buy it now if it makes you feel better. biggrin.gif

by stock one do you mean the one in the car right now? i thought if you do the 3sgte you have to get a different ECU? that the stock one in celicas already wouldnt work right with it?
