I know that it's a bit early (Seeing that i've only had my car for about 5 months!!),but i was thinking about my next car. I was wondering what u guys are thinking of after your celica. Even though i would love to keep the celica forever, i would have to sell it in a few years to fulfill my lifetime ambition - Toyota Supra tt targa top!!!! biggrin.gif (Makes me smile even thinkin about it!!)

i'm keeping my celica for crazy mods and for a "beater" car. (yea im using the word beater term a different way)

cause i want my next car to also be sports but with luxury.

i've had my eye on the 1999 carrera 4s for a long time now. hopefully in 4 years it will be in my driveway.

those are the two cars i want in my garage. celica & porsche.

but i'm gonna be watching the super cars that are gonna come out in the future...i might change my mind.

my dad wants one of the evo's

we took a 2002 wrx for a test drive and his opinion was

"No, its too slow, i dont like it"

so he is gonna wait about 6-7 months and get a evo8.

91 MR2 Turbo
TRD Japan LSD
Bored out with JE forged pistons
Dynamically balanced
ARP headstuds
TTE head gasket
rebuilt and polished heads
CT-26 with (dont remember trim) larger inducer wheel
balanced/blueprinted injectors
fidanza flywheel
new rotors and EBC brake pads
Goodridge braided brake lines
93 springs
koni adjustables
TRD swaybars
Borla SS custom exhaust installed (available dual HKS system with DP)
16" speedline wheels w/ yokohama tires

nice setup

that leaves everything done except for how ever much power you want.

$8500 is not a bad price at all for that setup

kamixZR - No I don't think the chick comes with the Supra. Also Skylines are HOT. Saw a blue one drive by the other day when I was out in the Z it looked soooo good.

Me personlly I was going to get a Supra TT aerotop but this really good one was au$45,000 so I wen't to see the owner and I bought one his other cars, a 300ZX TT. au$17,500 and I got lots of money to get upgrades which are comming from Japan no hurry for those. Plus he runs a little motorshop and he has Skylines GTR's there all the time, there was a one the other day with a full Nismo 400R kit my jaw droped.

So I think I would go for the GTR over the WRX and Supra. Off topic the Skyline and Supra following are much bigger than GT4 and WRX therefor a slightly better investment for resale when the kids arrive. Or buy a minie van for ya gal. biggrin.gif

The supra has always been my dream car (In a reasonable price range!!), the skyline is also up there, but the supra does it for me. I can get a used 96 tt 4 about 9k (In £ not $ !!!), but in a few years that should come down (With my insurance hopefully!!!!!!!!!!!!)

i like the zx, but i would say that the supra has better look, in my opinion anyway. the zx is a bit to 'squared', another car on my hit-list was the mitsibushi GTO (Or 3000GT - whatever it's called in your area!!), but i was told they have sh*t handeling, but i would still go 4 the supra - in silver.

Everytime i see a damn eclipse i get this funny feeling in my pants like when i used to climb the rope in gym class! And just knowing that the aftermarket for them is waaaay better and cheaper than our celicas is makin me think real hard about keepin my car.

yeah, but dont get an NA eclipse, its a waste.

and remember the phrase

"DSM's, making mechanics out of ordinary people since 1989."

my cousin's GSX was fast, but it had more problems then any car i have seen.

VW makes a turbo diesel engine called the TDi (strange, eh?). it's not very strong, but by no means weak. 1.8T is much much better.

the 1.8T is a straight up 5 cylinder turbo. it's one of the most reliable engines with HUGE amounts of potential for big HP...

the good thing about the jetta, gti and A4 is that they all share the 1.8T. so, upgrading turbo stuff is pretty much universal.

i love my celica and all, it's my first car. but...i have switched to the euro side.

the only jap car that i like anymore is my celi, hahaha...

1.8T poooowwwwaaaaaaa!!!

A Firebird Trans Am and put a supercharger or turbocharge on it...
Or a Chevy Camaro and do the same to it...
or a Stupid Mustang and do the same to it...

Why because at least with them, there is a richness and classy demeanor about them, not like a 6gc that in my honest opinion sucks, okay See yah later...

MKV R32 is going to be a turbo'd V6 making lot's o' powaaa...AWD too.

maybe one of those is in my future (<<~~~yeah, right).

Uh, I would lean more towards "white trash" than "classy", but thats just me. Class would be like, an Italian car.

well...slap me and call me susan...but, i think she may hve been kidding.

and, mustangs camaros and the like aren't to be ****ed with if done properly.

they can be straight up monsters.

but, i wouldn't neccessarily say that "class" is defined by italian cars per se.

i think that the Deutchsland auto market takes the cake on class.

italy's cars are just...insane. hahaha.

Just the other day in another forum you were saying that your auto ST was beating Vettes and Vipers and turboed Trans Ams. Now you're saying your ST sucks. You don't even know what you're saying. I demand a five second rule on you: think about something for five seconds before you write it. Domestic cars aren't classy, either. They're cheap, and a dime a dozen. They're fast, but not classy. Mustangs and Camaros should come with a free wifebeater, dew rag, and barbed wire tattoo.

Yea, lets not go crazy here people. My brother has a 2002 trans. It's his A-B transport. Domestics are ok cars if you are into that kind of thing. But Celicas and Hondas and other cars are good as well. It's all about what you are into. The only time there is a problem is when people of one group start bashing people of the other. wait wat...stupid people start the bashing. Sorry, had to correct that.

next car? difficult one that... I hope to keep my gen 6 for as long as possible. I've never had a car so reliable thats also quick and still looks great.
None of the new car designs around take my fancy - too angular including the new celica. Curves rule!
Funnily enough, I really like some of the US domestics I see. They are so rare in the UK that they would stand out from the usual.

Nissan 300zx twin turbo is near the top of my list. Closest thing I can come up with for the 'poor man's supra'

Don't go knocking Z's, the Supra I feel is overated and priced. But it could be cause I drive a Z. smile.gif

Has that white car in the dark got a Turbo K2_Celica? biggrin.gif

At the moment that's all I can think of my 300ZX and it's Turbo's.

Oh, I'm not knocking the Z, it's a great car... but I'm biased too.

I think Toyota makes some of the highest quality cars out there. On a reliability scale, Nissan is probably in the top 5.. but Toyota is number 1. The design of the MKIV Supra was so far ahead of it's time.. I still think it's damn sexy... but unfortunatly, as you said, the Supra is crazy expensive. I keep waiting for them to come down, but it never happens... patience is running out.

Why does everyone think that Supras are so expensive? You can get a 93 for less than a new car. Well yeah, sure, $13k - 18k is a lot for an old car like that, but it's worth it.

Z32s have a lot of problems - but thats because they're 12 year old cars. Most of the problems I hear are with turbos going out, but thats only because they have 100,000+ miles on it. You could expect that the same with a 93 Supra running the stock turbos (not that anyone has them nowadays...).

Aus I think the 96 TT Supra for £9k has to be an auto? Sounds too cheap for a manual.

Over here they are everywhere are go for around $25k-$40k AUD = £10.5k-£18.
