^ dont know the exact size but pretty much any standard size 1" or so in diamitar will fit under the covers, the stock once are just glued on to the metal bracket. I replaced my fronts with infinity kappa perfect components very nice but can be pricey.

I'm not sure if they sell them seperate from the component set, but the CDT's I have sound glorious.

On a side note, try putting them close to the midrange in your door and see if you like how it sounds compared to the stock location... you may find that you like it a little better. Oh and look for ones that you can attenuate on the crossover itself as opposed to adjusting the treble on your HU.

Yeah they sound fliiping brilliant, they came with car mind, the tweeter is situated lower than the OEM position, just tucked in the corner, near where the glass meets the door panel!

The tweeters with corssovers are similar to these

The door speakers are simialr to these

Sorry I haven't got an actual model number without taking my door panels off and speaker out

I'm gonna install some infinity kappa 60.7 components in my front and a kappa 6.5 mid in the rear (i had left over from my last car that i crashed. gg). If you like listening to different types of music, these would be ur best choice for the price. These arent the best speakers out there, but kappas are bang for the buck!! Very good SQL and SPL out from these speakers. Can get these online for $180 shipped. You could always spend $1000 for a pair of focals if you had the money. These speakers sound great. I had a system in my old car with these and people always said that it sounded like the band was in my car playing for me. Pretty nice. I would recommend getting a 4 channel that puts out 75rms per channel. I have a eclipse ea4000. Excellent amp. Also keep in mind that you will have to tune your speakers to get the best sound.
The best way to test you're systems SQL is by listening to classical music. Classical music has the lowest and highest frequency ranges of all music. If you like distortion and your music to sound unnatural, get alpines or slopfords i mean rockfords. Those speakers are garbage. Both of those companies use heavy marketing to hype up their crappy products. I will say that Alpine does have 2 of the best installers in the world working on their show cars.
