1. the sound is "eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" combined with "kkkkkkkkkkkkeeekkkkkkkkk"

2. 40 per sounds about right. Shoes cost more than pads. Make sure to get your drums checked to make sure they're still in spec.

3. Good news is, you will probably never have to replace your rear brakes again, as the majority of your stopping weighs on the front brakes.

well, got both rear rotors new, bendix ceramic brake pads, and caliper/ rotor paint. have to run up to the dealership in the morning to pick up the e-brake shoes. shouldnt need any thing to do with rear brakes for awhile now. autozone, advanced auto, pep boys, snavely and dosh and about 3 other parts stores couldnt get them. why dosnt anyplace but dealer ships carry them?

the reason why no one carries E brake shoes is because those are a high wear item, stores will waste money carrying those instock. Generally cars dont need to get there E brake shoes replace under normal use. Last time I replaced mine i sent the worn out ones out to get new pads put on them.
