i dont know when your planing on doing this, but i remember you saying something about moving to Houston to go to UTI? was that you? if so my Wife does tattoos. Shes really good, and for a 6gc member, and that you want to get something celi related i think she would get a kick out of doing it and wouldnt charge much at all. That is if your heading this way sometime and want to wait.

Because ten or fifteen years from now when you no longer seek the approval of others and are able to really think for yourself, you're gonna think that getting a giant-ass tattoo of your car was really dumb.

I know how flamey and bitchy that sounds and I really don't mean it to be like that... I see you post a lot of "which one should I get" and "what should I do" posts and personally I think fcuk what everyone else thinks, do what YOU want to do, do stuff for YOU and not for the approval of others.

Think this through very seriously... if you weren't on this site, would you feel quite as fervently about your car? So much so that you'd actually TATTOO it on your body forever? I'm like twice your age... and I'm just sayin', this sounds a little like a whim to me. But if I'm way off base, then cool. It's nothing personal.

Im not seeking approval at all. i am simply asking for opinions and ideas. Im sure im gonna get this tattoo unless i find something better which the 6gc people might be able to help me out adn think of something i didnt.. its my 1st car and its important to me. it was important B4 the forum. i dont post all those posts because i wanna get what everyone likes. i just want opinions. because sometimes peoples thoughts help me decide sh!t. like the celica vs 240sx post. they all pointed out some very good reasons to stick with the celi. and they helped me out. i am definatly one to not care what people think of me.

Ok, please please please think about this first; or just simply DO NOT get this tattoo! This is a bad idea. And believe me, coming from someone who's got some extensive tattoos: you do not want to jump into this, even though you may "love" your car. I love Toyotas, but am not going to get it tattooed on me. I agree with GriffGirl, PM me if you want to have a discussion.

Just some friendly advice.

DWG is Deleware Water Gap Meet. smile.gif search for it in meets.

i kinda have to go with yah on this one Server but at the same time tattoos are forever. I have 6, and it took me forever to make up my mind about what i want. im not saying not to get them, but make sure you have thought it through. I want to get a Toyota tat because i love the cars and i know that i wont own anything other then toyota after this car, and i love to work on them, because it was the first real nice car i bought that i love the hell out of, cuz it was the first car me and my wife bought together, the list goes on, but i have a list to go off of.

Like i said, get it if you want, just make sure its what you really want, and no Griff im going against you on this one, Tattoos are not forever anymore, i can think of at least 2 ways to get them off that dont require a belt sander, and one way is cheaper then the tattoo itself was.

But anyways get what you want Server, just let my wife do it when you move down here laugh.gif

Havok, no offense but if you're getting tattoos with the conception that you can always get it taken off it's not worth getting in the first place. Tattoos mean different things to different people, don't waste your time and money and the artists time getting something you may not want later on in life. Don't get me wrong, ideals change and that's why I always tell people to think about tattoos relating to religion, people [names], sports teams, and/or culture. Listen to me when I tell you that I'm not trying to ward people off from getting tattoos, I'm just seeing a lot of cherries and shamrocks creatively placed (in the same spot) that noone is getting anything new it just seems like they're doing it to fit in. It can be a conversation piece but it isn't an "in." (and I'm not saying Server is gonna get some cherries on his tan-line!)

Server, definitely post up some pics whenever you get your tat or whenever anyone does! Already got a thread going a while back on this!

Thread Here.

no no no. Dont get me wrong. I didnt get any of my tattoos because i knew i could get ride of them later if i didnt want them. I have meaning for every single one of them and reason for having them.

infact the way im talking about for getting ride of a tattoo you dont want is to get another one over it biggrin.gif Or you can go to a tattoo shop and have them match you skin tone and they will tattoo over it. its better then having a scare, you can easily tattoo over it again, and its one color so its much cheaper then the tattoo your covering up.

Al im saying is that you have options because not everyone thinks before they act and for those that dont, you have a way out. biggrin.gif

That is true. I didn't even think about cover-ups! I'm the same as you Havok, all my [5] tats have been thought, planned, and custom-drawn (by that I mean not Flash).

i have 1 piece of flash, i hate flash but the one i have was a friend buying, and it was for a group tattoo. We arent friends anymore, infact i hate his ass now, but we had some really good times back in the day so id rather remember that and have it remind me why i hate him and it helps keep me in line. biggrin.gif

but that is the only flash i have, or will ever have. smile.gif

you are really going to regret having a celica tattoo later on in life.
get something more universal. 6gc is probably not going to be around in 10-20yrs from now, yet youll still be stuck with the tattoo.

ok.

IM not trying to high jack this thread. but why wouldnt he want to get that tattoo?

What if the car means something to him, or buying it was something major in his life he wanted to remember? He said this was his first car. What if he has this car for years and years and puts all his soul into getting the car as nice as some people have done here? Whats wrong with remembering that forever? whats wrong with having a constant reminder of how much fun and how much hard work went into something you care about? what if he wants to remember this site forever because of friends he made here that he will know forever?

Like i have a Tattoo of a Heartagram and people ask me why do you have that? how do you know you will like that band years from now? Maybe i will maybe i wont, but there is a memory behind that Tattoo. Several actually, and even if i stop liking the band (which i doubt, due to my love for music) i still have all those memories that involved getting the tattoo, listening to HIM when something happened that i wouldnt want to loss to memory. Tattoos are not self modification, they are staples in life........a map if you will of things that you have done or things you want to do, or things that you care about or have loved your whole life....and on and on and on.

There are a Thousand different reasons i can think of why he would want or should get that tattoo and never regret it.

IM almost 23 years old i have 6 tattoos that no one understands but me, and will have a body covered in them that im sure no one will ever get. But for others to understand or get is not the point. If it means something to you then there is a point to it. And i dont think people should rag on people for it, just because you dont understand or dont agree with something someone wants to do for their reasons.

Thank you!!!!! smile.gif ^^^ thats what ive been tryin to say but i couldnt word it right. You hit the nail on the head my friend.

God damn HIM fans! lol

The general rule of tattos is not to get any names, or specific things. What if you get 6gc tattoed on your back, and then you get banned from the site for some reason.... or you start getting into domestics and buy a Cobra.
At least with the HIM heartagram, you could always find some other meaning in it and most people will not know what it really stands for.

Back when I was like 16yrs old, I was really into Nirvana. Looking back, Im VERY glad that I didnt do anything dumb like get their tattoo as the band means nothing to me now.

trust me, i know for a fact im not goin ot be into domestics. To me my 1st car (being a celica) is extremely important to me. and i highly doubt i will get banned from 6gc but if i do i will still have my memories and friends that i made on here. and the 6gc part in the drawing wasnt completely representing the site. it just represented 6th gen celica. Im never gonna get names on me. only if i have children will i get names on me. thats it. Alot of people dont understand how much i really love cars, japanese import especially. Im goin to UTI for automotive and i do plan on keeping my celi until it dies on me. if i wreck it while i am settleing down and have money to rebuild, i will. if not i will always have the tattoo to remember all the memories with my car and this site. In some cases specific things have a really good reason or memory behind them. if you get ramdom things that you think look cool tattooed on your body, most likely you will end up calling it a "dumb idea". Also, i am going to draw or have my sister or other good artists draw my tattoos. i dont want flash AT ALL, i want to have something custom and unique that no one else will get. i know that tattoo stay with you forever. and i want my 1st car to stay with me forever, i know it wont be forever but at least i can have a permenant reminder of how much fun i had makeing my celica the best it can be.

haha yes but ive decided to keep the celica, i realized that anyone can tune a 240 and make it look and run good, but it takes alot more research and skill for a celica. plus not many people tune celica's and i like to be different haha

so every one knows uti still has the toyta body program. ive been looking into myself here in sac. the toyota program is only in houston as of right now and only sac and houston have the body programs right now. right now im planning on going to sac then transfer there for the single unit class to get the toyota cert from how i understand it its just an extra unit u take after you finish all of the other units uti has to offer. if your really interested i would try and enroll now even if your not planning on going for a year they r raiseing there prices in april so if u sign up now u can fix in the lower cost for a full year. ive been talking to reps for the past week is why i know lol well i hope this helps. and on the tat i would prolly put the toyota symbol instead of the celiit self yeah its a cool idea but i know uve been bounceing the idea of a 240 around and i would hate for you to put ink on your body then turn around and buy a new car and then feel bad about inking up your body just my opinon

Entirely different car. Nobody really has a 'fast' Celica on these boards that isn't a GT4. Swaps aren't even that fast.

2) being of logical mind, one can deduce you eat balls for mid day snacks. Gross!
