Ive got the tranny out of the car right now, because im replacing the clutch (centerforce stage 1, comes on wednesday)
The passenger side axle popped right out of the differential no problem. But the driver side axle is STILL on there! I had to pull the transmission with it still attached.

Brute force wont bring it free, is there some clip on there? some magic spell maybe? yaaarg!

ok, there is a clip that holds it in place. you have already taken out the tranny. There are some tools people use.

I used a prybar and a mallet. while the tranny was in place, i pushed up with the prybar and one single wham with the mallet.

sorry i dont have pics, i used to but i am using photobucket now and im transferring all my pics.

i took a good strike. So i feel you.

Do i want to pry underneath that metal ring? It looks important, its a soft metal and you can see i already bent it up a bit already.

No, that's the dust shield, it protects the trans seal from dirt/debris.

Put a prybar against the inner joint where it meets the shaft and whale the crap out of it with a hammer.

To install make sure that clip has the opening facing DOWN.

well, thats where i hit mine, altough ^^^ has another way, make sure you dont mess up your axle, as you dont want to buy new one. meaning dont pull from the axle tip!!!

I ended up just bending the dust shield to shape.

if you have a long screwdriver you can go in from the other side of the differential and pop it with a hammer to knock it out, since one axle is already out.
