Hey guys, I'm looking into possibly turbo'ing the car a few months down the road. I read the FAQs, but I was confused about what parts I actually need. Here is what I came up with as far as parts:
New, lower mileage motor 3S-GTE oil pan and drain lines 3S-GTE 2 bar map sensor 3S-GTE Manifold/downpipe CT26 (twin entry) MK3 Supra N/A injectors MK3 Supra intercooler Intercooler piping SAFC Boost controller Boost gauge Oil pressure gauge Headgasket Now, here are the questions I had. Why must you use the twin entry CT-26? Does the single entry (aka Supra) CT-26 work? Is this because of the 3S-GTE manifold? If I bought an aftermarket 3S manifold, could I then use the Supra CT? I ask because I have access to a few of these. Also, what is needed concerning the oil and coolant lines? This is where I get confused. I would like this to the as budget of a build as possible, but at the same time be reliable. I would plan to run 6-8psi or so. -Matt |

The oil drain/ feed line you can get from other forums. You will need to cut the factory hard feed line and weld on a fitting so you can run a stainless steel line to your turbo.
The ct-26 turbo we all use is the dual entry turbo either from the alltrac or mr2 turbo. Why? Because it fits onto the turbo manifold which is dual outlet footing. Why we use those manifolds? Because it bolts right up to our head. If you want single entry the 1st gen 3sgte came single entry turbo with a single outlet manifold, but I read some where it won't fit on our head. It seems to me you want to cut on cost because the ct26 single entry is far cheaper. You gotta play to play buddy. -------------------- 98 Celica gt red- totaled deer

go for the 460cc injectors from an RX7, (they're mentioned in one of the later replies to manny's thread) instead of the supra ones. also I'd pring for a front mount intercooler. The supra one is side mount, isn't it? you'll need a fuel pump. and some sort of intake, plus a cutom made exhaust. that's all I can think of right now.

The MK3 Supra one is front mounting, and would be just fine for a simple 6psi setup. I also realize that I would have to get an intake and a fuel pump, I just forgot to add them to the list. As far as exhaust, I think I'd use the stock one. I'd like to pass inspection as easily as possible, if I even could. I'm sure if I got a rock solid tune, it'd be a possibility. -Matt |

I don't think it's legal to turbo a non-turbo car. but check the laws in your state first. as for exhaust, it's going to be super, super restrictive, plus it'll need to be modified to mate up to the downpipe anyway I think. -------------------- ![]() 94 GT - Sold -------- 69 Pontiac Lemans - Sold 88 Alltrac - Sold ---- 04 WRX - Sold 00 GT-S - Sold ------ 91 Miata - project/drift car 95 GT - Sold -------- 96 GT - New Daily Drive |
