Hi,
I'm a newbie here and am getting a 95 St Friday. The question I have is, does anybody know of different headlight assemblies I can use (with a little modification) to give the car a little more masculinity? BTW, I like the curren makeovers but am not looking to do that much in the way of changes just yet. Thanks for any help you can give.

The best way to go is jdm projectors. I don't know if they are masculine enough for you, but its damn sexy to a lot of the users on here.

Other then that, you can't really do much unless you do the curren front end conversion.

^^^^That or the halo eye option, but that would require you to "oven bake open" your lights and insert the L.E.D. ring in it. Also the eye lid over the headlight lens, but that's not my cup of tea.

Thanks for the info. On the JDM projectors, are they just bulbs or are they the whole headlight assembly? Thanks.

They're REALLY sexy looking, I would love to throw some in my car, but like he said, they're freakin' expensive... I have a hard time throwing down 750+ for some headlights...

JDM is a whole headlight assembly. You could also buy some clear lenses, HID projectors, and some HID lights, then retro fit the whole thing. it'll give you a sort of JDM look. Not exacaly, but it'll give you that clear thru look, and while your doing it, you could always add angel eyes. smile.gif FTW.

Just bear in mind, that JDM projectors are EXPENSIVE!! Like CRAZY expensive. The part numbers are as follows:

QUOTE (Coomer @ Feb 26, 2003 - 2:28 AM)
Projector Headlights - These low beam headlights are available in some Celicas overseas from 1996-on, and they have a H1 bulb behind a projector unit, to provide a sharp beam cutoff such as that seen in new Audis, second generation Integras, etc. These lights also have a socket in them for accent lights, and this socket uses a 194 bulb. The part numbers are below.
81014-20100 (Left)
81012-20100 (Right)

Clear High Beams - These high beams are available in some Celicas overseas from 1996-on and they have a crystal clear lense. The part numbers are below.
81130-20050
81170-20050

just the low beams?

so
$775US = $1,012.56NZ
$1154.96NZ = $883.950US

wonder how much my standard lights will sell for?

Thanks guys. I think I'm going to pass on the prjectors.
D-man, I'm just going with the stock lights for now. I have to do a little "homework" before I change them out.

I did get the car Friday. I will post pics soon. My first few issues to deal ith are:
broken low-beam lens on passenger side
hatch doesn't open
cruise comes on but won't work
it's got 175r70-14's on it and it sits way too low (I need to be practical because I'm going to have to drive this in the winter too.)
Last but not least, the previous owner removed the stereo ad left me with just a bundle of wires (no plug)

Any suggestions? Thanks again.

Hey folks, I'm back. I can't believe how tough it is to find low beam assemblies that aren't busted for a decent price. Ouch! I did finally get one though. It looks like a real pain in the a$$ to get the bumper cover off to put the new light in. I'm going to work on that and wiring up the plugs for the stereo tomorrow. I have posted pictures on my "new ride" on my profile. Yes, it needs work.
Does anybody know if you can swap out the headlights, hood, & front bumper cover with a supra? I was curious because they look the same to me except for those items. Thanks for all the suggestions so far. Take a look at the pics and let me know if you have any other ideas. (I know tires & rims will come up.) I already blew one of the crappy tires out driving to work. I think I'm going to go to 15" but not sure how wide I can go. More on that later.

I don't think you can swap out the hood and front end with that of a Supra, as the body and frame of the Supra is wider than our cars and it would require a lot of modifying.

Tomorrow when you're removing your bumper to replace that busted low beam, rest assured that 3000 miles away, at roughly the same parallel, I'll be doing exactly the same but for my high beam. smile.gif

As for "instant gratification" mods, honestly I would start with just detailing the heck out of the car when you're done replacing the headlight. For me, that's always the first thing I do when I get a car, that really makes me feel more like it's MY car and that I'm not driving someone else's car. Fix everything that needs fixing and detail it.

As for other mods - really, the sky's the limit for as far as your wallet can reach. Try browsing the member gallery for some ideas on all the good stuff you can do to your car. There's some great ideas on this board, and tons of how-to info and tips.

playr just never finished his headlight conversion so it looked like crap.

back when i got my first celi i had dreams of swapping in a supra motor just to be shot down by the fact it won't fit in the bay without a lot of money put into it. at that point i might as well just save for a supra.
welcome to the boards btw.

Thanks for the info (and the welcome). It's nice to still be called a kid at 44. LOL. I figured that it would be some work to convert. I don't have a problem with that. I am just trying to get some ideas to make the front end look a little more agressive. The fact that nobody seems to make aftermarket headlights for us doesn't help much and why did they make these things with tabs that seem to get broken so easily? (Ok, enough whining for now.)

I'm going through the car to get all the standard mechanicals taken care of first. After that I want to get new shoes, an Injen intake, a head unit (any head unit at this point), either new seats or good seat covers, paint some of the interior, a header & new exhaust, floor mats, better mirrors, window tint, a different rear spoiler, a new paint job, add 2 more gauges (oil pressure & tbd), and eventually do an engine swap and add a manual tranny. Oh, I forgot, new shocks & struts. The struts on it now are monroe sensatracs but I don't know what the shocks are. Actually, I have more items on the "wish list" but I think you get the point.
