as the title says..spill yer gutz! I am thinkin about swappin in the 4A cuz the 7afe now has speed holes.....

:-(

My brother said he heard a noise from the motor...had it towed to a mechanic...the "mechanic" told him it was safe to drive home but he would probably need a new motor...

That "mechanic" is a F*C*I*G moron. When my brother told me about the noise I told him to get it towed to my mom's house and if the noise had just started we could have fixed it....now we need a whole new motor....and the worst part is.....He still owes me money for the car! mad.gif

Oddly enough I was talking to someone about a 3sgte swap in his car and then he goes and tells me that he has a 7afe motor with 100k on it with the transmission, wire harness,ECU,ETC for $600...He lives about an hour away from me... Does this sound like a good idea? And...if it does...is there any piston upgrades and other internals people can recommend to try and build up the 7afe if I do decide to drop another one of those in there? When I had mine, I just had a lot of bolt ons but an upgraded clutch.

Also,I found a 94 GT with 200k miles on it....body in near mint condition....5-speed for $900...At this point,I am thinking it's a steal of a deal because a 94 WON'T have to pass emissions in NH....so....I might have found my project car for an eventual 3sgte swap myself tongue.gif Best part about it is that the guy who is selling it is in his early 50's so you know he didn't really beat the crap out of it.

Bolt a 4AGE head to the 7AFE block, it'll still rev like stink but you get the torque you would expect from a bigger motor. One of the top Toyota drifters in NZ is running a 7age with quad throttles etc, 'tis mean!
