If you're looking for an N1 replica, go with the OBX B10.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_Car-Truck-...tem370068224471

I had one put on my Supra awhile back, and it sounded great (2.5" piping, with added on resonator, and stock cat).

If you're into coffee canning arround, than by all means, i bet that'd suit your purposes laugh.gif

But something decent and not too "wha-a-a-a-ney" would deff be recommended. wink.gif

BTW, i've seen cheaper Mufflers on e-bay laugh.gif

i had bought a replica a few years ago off there, i was sketchy but it was worth a shot for like 30 dollars to my door. it actually sounds really really good, but the down side it that as of right now its starting to rust (even though its stainless). im actually about to go give some clr a shot on it lol. but i say if its cheap enough then its probably worth a try. just my input

I'd go for the OBX. I have stock exhaust on my Celica, so I couldn't tell you how it sounds. However, I think I might go with it soon, so if I do, I'll let you guys know how it turns out.

Here are pics of the OBX on the Supra:

If anyone is going to do this on a Celica, I highly recommend that you go 2.5" or less in piping size, and get yourself a resonator (and I'll assume you have a cat, so I won't add that). Anything else and it will sound like a Civic.

Love the bald rear tryes btw.

The wheels I bought were wheels from a MKIV Supra, and the wheels were pretty much bald on them.

But the tires were replaced a few days after the pics were taken.

Also, I had the N1 for over a year, and had no issues with rust.

I had obx tail pipes and headers on both my tiburons. They sell well among the Hyundai community here. Loved them

However, I don't think the silencer bung for the N1 replica is removable....thats what I found on my celica anyway thats why i replaced it. If there is one that is removable i'd like to know.

well they cut the muffler off and did from the muffler back about 6inch it is 2.5 to the muffler great job sounds great and all i got is a CAI and a 2.5inlet and 3.5 outlett muffler not hondaish sounding but nice deep rumble and with the silencer in cant even hear it until high revs so i think its a good deal for how much i spent its know cat-back but it works for know

yeah, but its 2.5 inlet and i believe stock piping is 2in(correct me if i'm wrong) so i just wondered how they did that part...
I'm between taking mine down to the local muffler shop and having them fab up a completely new section from where the closest connection is(right above the suspension i think) so i could do a quick change out to stock for some random reason..
or just grabing a 2in to 2.5in 16ga stainless cone tube thingy and doing it myself from where i cut the muffler off. but who knows what i'll do, i'm still waiting for the money.
on that note, is our exhaust tubing, is it stainless steal or is it aluminum coated(not galvanized) i dont know what its actually called. thanks.

and as for uploading pictures... goto imageshack or photobucket, and upload pictures to them.. take the IMG code and just copy paste it into the post. if you need to know anything more, or need a better guide feel free to pm me!

Go to an exhaust shop, and get all new, bigger piping from the cat back. 2.5 or 2.25" is usually the norm.

Sorry, I just feel that it's half-assed when people get a muffler welded on to their stock exhaust piping. Not to mention you're not getting any performance gains from it, you're just doing it for the sound.

it kinda is, i agree tongue.gif! And you will see a little performance gain no matter what, cause a canister is less restrictive then the stock muffler... But it may only be like 1bhp.

Yea i gotta agree those sound pretty good, I might have to get me one too!

Oh and i think welding it to the stock piping is fine, if you free it up to much then you are loosing low end power anyways.

Were you able to remove the silencer? i just got mine today and cant figure it out. Also how did they stabalize the mufler? did they weld something on to it to hold it up?

There should be a screw (you need an allen wrench to take it off) that's near the tip of the muffler, un-do that bolt, then the silencer can be pulled right out.

usually they use a little circle clamp or two that wrap around the main canister and then they fab up a bracket thing to fix it to your stock mounts. i think...

yeah i got the silencer out you might wanna here it with it in first and if its not loud enough the take it out mine took a little persuasion and the just custom fabed a braket i guess how they do it depends on the shop

Trust me, no one will want to use the silencer, because it sounds like utter crap with it in.

The only time it comes in handy is when you're driving around older family members. wink.gif
