In short these are shielded copper wires (99.9% Cu therefore it is very low in Impendance) that connects the engine components directly to the battery thus making the entire electrical system to perform at greater efficiency.

It's a good idea and from the few who have bought them they seem to do their job well. I find myself wanting the Apex'I one but for $200+ IDK - there are a whole lot of other $200+ mods I'd like to do first biggrin.gif
Get one of the cheap ones from ebay or go to Walmart and buy a bunch of ground cables for like $3 ea. They will all work basically the same.

More like a restoration of lost power. Wiring degrades as it passes current and also just from age/corrosion. Just getting the regular ones from Walmart and running them to a few key places will get you the same effect for under $20 [Hell under $10 would get it].
Also you'll notice your lights are brighter, both interior and exterior, the engine will feel similar to when you do a new tune up [just better throttle response really].
All of these are things people I trust have reported to me. I have not yet done this mod.

what are the key things you would want to attach to this ground? i too have seen these wondering the benefits.

Start by running another Ground wire off your alt. That way you're getting the power out to the rest of the components.

OK - I'm gonna bite the bullet and try this. I'm going to Walmart tonight and buy a few standard ground wires in 4' lengths and I'll add one at a time to see if any show a significant improvement in electronics efficiency. Then once I've added say 5 of them I'll run like that for a few days, note any improvements and then disconnect them all at once to double check if my feelings are true. That's the best way I can think of to keep the test as scientific as possible. I'll also have the motor running while I install each one - I may be able to tell a difference like that.
So I'm taking suggestions on where to place them - LMK what you guys think will be most benificial.
-Alternator bracket
-Block
-Tranny
-2 to new places on the frame
Sound good? Ideas/Comments/Suggestions?

D-man - Do you still have that one I gave you?

Obviously, if you've read my starter replacement thread from last night, I didn't get a chance to try this out yet. As funds that would have gone to this were sucked up into the starter I'll have to put this on hold for a few days till some other money I'm expecting comes in. I'll let you guys know when I start this again.

x2 W/ Renegade.

Death, you gave me grounding wires? confused.gif I bought that LONG one from oriley or wal*mart after you did yours trying to solve another problem (witch turns out to be the EGR valve)... I think your thinking of someone else. But it's just a ghetto copper cable. I don't have the HYPER cable. frown.gif

I don't think there is much to gain over the regular Neverstart copper ground wires. I'm not gonna try anything more until I see what they can do for us. No use wasteing $50-200 until I know there is a benifit. The idea here is to provide additional grounds to key areas anyway.

well ive done one on my previous cars and the spots it tells you are like
alt.
tranny
intake mani
headlight
body
head
but i would ask the people who have done more recently and they may still have the "instuctions" that come with it and they could tell you where they go

yeah electronics sounded and look better as in light brightness throttle response was a little better since all it is doing is boostin the electrical current through your car son no hp gains just electrical system runs better

Is there a grounding kit made for our cars? I'd like to tackle a little project like this. I added an additional ground to my battery, but didn't notice any difference.

EDIT: I found this kit for the 7th gen, it shouldn't be much different, if at all, then ours. http://www.tunedinnovations.com/groundwires.asp?Product=1

They also say they're making a 6th gen kit soon. Someone try this out to see if it works!

i doubt it'll do much. I just get a 0 gauge cable and have one ground from the tranny and engine block. Everything will find it's ground either through the block, head, or tranny. I had some friends that had bought this in the earlier years and it didn't make or do any difference.

if any of you guys are thinking about getting a grounding kit, i would suggest the buddy club kit. not only does it have the ground wires, but it also has an electrical condenser. the condenser is the same thing as a capacitor used for a sound system as it stores energy and smooths out voltage spikes. they are a universal kit and really easy to install. i had one on my srt 4 and noticed that the head lights were a bit brighter, the clock on my radio didn't pulsate anymore when the volume was cranked up and the bass hit, and the throttle response was a bit crisper.

http://www.buddyclub.us/buddyclub/condenser/condenser.html

this place is selling them for $140

Wow, that looks nice. Did you add the wires to where there were already factory ground wires, or did you put them in new places?

when i put a k&n cold air on the srt, once the stock air box was gone there was a lot of open area and i made a plate that came off the battery tray and kinda covered the trans. the condenser box just went right onto the plate. there is a mounting bracket on the condenser box and i've also seen people use double stick tape in order to mount it in various places in different cars.

Would you say it's worth the $130 dollar price tag? If you saw a noticeable different, it might be worth buying.

it would depend on what you are gonna do with your car and if you have $130 to spend. if you aren't into spending much on your car and are gonna leave it pretty much stock, maybe not, but if you want to start modding or if you add a sound system, i would get it. i will be buying another one when i get my next car. if the one off my srt wouldn't have been damaged i would have put it on the celica. the one thing i noticed with the buddy club kit vs other kits is that it is costs less and a lot of them don't even have the condenser box. when i worked for buddy club, i got to see first hand how they have a good product and don't rape on the price. i haven't worked for them in like 2 years, but i still talk with the guys at the office and still really like their products.

personally i don't think i would buy any other kit since i am kind of a cheap ass with my money, but i still like to get quality products. i can't see spending about $60 more for other kits that have less with it.
