Hi All-
Since I bought my '97 convertible 2 months ago, I've had an intermediate "Check Engine" light problem. When it started coming on all the time, I purchased an OBDII code reader (handy as heck). The code is 401- a warning about excessive emission gasses. Anybody else had this one? How do I fix it? TIA, John Williams A Longhorn in LA '97 GT Convertible "Ryoko" |

i had the EGR flow insufficient code a little bit ago. it was code 402 or something like that
either way i replaced the EGR VSV as the dealer told me to and it did not fix the problem. i clean the throttle body and checked all the vaccum lines and the tubes. took apart the EGR valve itself and nothing was wrong. it turned out to be the vacuum modulator. $60 part. the VSV was $113. btw i have an ST, your parts prices will prolly be different -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition
