I setup a group buy awhile back in 2007 that was for the TRD leather shift knob, and it's still going on, so I thought I'd let you guys in on it as well (I started it up on a Supra forum I post at). It is for this knob here:

I just got one myself, and I must say that it's awesome. The knob is heavy, and it conforms nicely to your hand. If you want one, send a Paypal payment of $69.50 to Ironhead Toyota at Toyotaparts@irontoad.com, and under misc. notes put "TRD shift knob group buy, part #: PTR04-00000-05". Hope some of you guys will take advantage of this. smile.gif

Here is what the knob looks like installed:

Yep, good price. smile.gif

No link, I sent an email to this guy after he had one for sale on Ebay, and he allowed me to do this group buy.

Another thing to note - this knob also shortens the height of the shifter assembly by a descent amount as the threads are very high up in the knob so if you don't want a short shifter this will give the illusion of a shorter throw [Also if you already have one of those rediculously short shifters you may need to be advised that you might be reaching into the shifter bezil with this knob laugh.gif ]

I just received an email from Toyota that the price of this knob has gone up, but they said we could still buy them for $69.50 shipped. For those that paid before hand, I'm guessing you'll be receiving yours for what you paid.

It does go high up into the knob, but still the knob is taller than typical. Also, i have a short throw with no issues of hitting my hand.

Just to clarify, if you sent your payment before today (August 13th), you're in the clear as far as pricing goes. From here on, the price is $69.50.

This is a good price... I paid ~$75 last month. I have a 7th gen short shifter, it looks awesome... I'll try to post some pics soon. The TRD knob feels better in my hand compared to the stock knob cause I have big hands and theres more to the TRD Knob.

You just aren't having any luck, are you?

There are threads, they're just deeper than the stock knob is. I doubt Toyota would send you the wrong knob.

Haha, it's no problem JC, just glad to see that you got it working. Like Stet said, how do you like it?

It's still going on. One member had his shipped to Japan and he didn't have to pay any extra, so you should be good.

With the 7th gen shortshifter, I found that the handbrake is in the way when shifting to first and second gear. How does it feel with this knob, being it a bit taller than stock?

i actually talked to Matt about this a few weeks ago, and he said to just contact this guy for prices and availibilty.

Hope some of you guys will take advantage of this. smile.gif

TRD shifter grooves are all the way in the top. The threads are not at the opening of the knob.
