I know it is different, some may say not even pleasing to the eye "Why not black?". I gotta be different in some way, that's just me.

Thanks, I had a feeling the red isn't going to be a favorite. But if people get the black blocks and the rest of their car only has black tires as far as having black goes...... Why not? biggrin.gif I dunno if it is noticeable, but the blocks are the exact color of the rims.

I like the idea.. but think you'd need more red to pull it off... here's a couple rough ideas I had:

Thanks for that. I still need a lip kit, so I might consider that red. Then again, I think it just takes adjusting. Ever noticed how a white car can have a black hood, and black blocks, but that's all the black it has and it is acceptable? The eyes are not used to other colors. That's how I felt about my rims and I ended up keeping them and now people in my town try to copy me by the majority of them getting red rims. Seriously. I never thought I would get so many compliments on them as well.

I will give it some time. I still have yet to get my crew logo (my sig without the font) on my car.

Urg, no! Looks like the A-team!

I quite like the red. I think painting the silver/white bits of the wheels black would be an improvement. Also, perhaps a darker red? Might be interesting to do a photoshop of the bonnet grille and upper bumper grille in the same red also.

Brake calipers are going to be anything close to chrome, or possibly red as well.

I think this looks good dude, i think the main problem im having is i normally see the blocks black or color-matched (on non black cars), and to see it not black on a black car, its just different. Not bad different at all though.

I do agree that you could use some more red on the car though...

Nah it's not like that man. I know you and plyr just spout out at the mouth and hold nothing back, which is what i love most about you guys. I know it isn't about my car, and even if that were the case, I can care less. I am just saying, after a few posts of you two going at each other, just move it to private messages. I was like that when I first joined, and I ended up being friends with the guy I thought I had a problem with.

I just don't like to see people fighting on here is all. You all post very frequently and it is nice to be drama free on a cool site. That's all I am saying.

I am in Bakersfield, CA on the way to Los Angeles pretty much for you. Call me when you plan on heading out and let me know in well advance so I can join you. I think it would be awesome! I blew too much on my car this year. But yes, I am looking into side skirts (I have the TRD replica rear skirts) and a Eurou front lip. Basically it will look much like Kloudkicka's ride. I like it very much, but with my own colors, because I have to be an individual (aside from car body style like his).

That's exactly what i am saying. I had the same feeling when I got red rims, and now everyone is copying me in town. Regardless of what everyone says......... I am proud to say NOBODY, has a GT4 like mine. Others may look like others, but NOBODIES looks like mine. Which is why I did this. I don't play with vinyl, but if I did, I have an idea of my own.

Hey thanks man. Yeah I mean a clean look is cool, but I have waited all my life to finally modify a car. Now that I made due with what I have (celica, would have opted for something else), and having the most individual car in town with people staring at it like it fell from the sky......... I love it! Regardless if people love what you or hate it, the reaction is usually the same. You got eyes on you, and in my eyes that is all worth it. So far all has been positive, I have Supra guys trying to get to know me, I have people telling me how hate celicas but they love mine, it's great!

Thanks for the comment and post pics when you get your stuff installed so I can check it out. Yeah a lip kit is the next big thing, or the swap. I gotta see how it goes. If I end up with $1k to spend, then yeah the lip, but if not and I have more by Summer, then the swap. Because I still need a paint job.

Nah it's cool. I don't care what everyone else says about "It Needs More Red". If anything, I have an idea of how I would do it if I did, but so far for now, I am keeping it. Everyone else locally digs it, and I am content with it as well. Like I said, if people have black rims (or any other color) and black is not part of their color scheme, with black riser blocks or a black hood and it is looked upon as acceptable, then they just need to adjust to it. This is out there, and even if the color choice isn't pleasing, I still have what people want. It's not like I got an oversized aftermarket spoiler that people wouldn't normally touch and tried to pass it off. I simply stuck to my color scheme in ways that others do, just not the same choice of color.

That's cool, I can respect that.

hey ill trade you my red mirrors for you black im going all black and red i think id look cool but i dont think it would be worth it since you still have to get it painted to match the color of red you have.

I simply stuck to my color scheme in ways that others do, just not the same choice of color.

true its all about personal taste
but it looks good keep us updated on what you do in the future

Thanks

The red blocks look weird to me. I think the whole car would flow better if the blocks were black. The wheels are ok, though they do take some getting used to. Not bad at all.

Just to add to the comment about the offset on my wheels......... I just found out they are +48MM and 17x7. If you know what rims would look close to mine or look good and give a more aggressive appearance with correct sizes, let me know.

do the spoiler blocks have the "gt-four" writing? you can try painting the blocks black and keeping the writing red. and get some red emblems too.

just add a ~8mm spacer to each side in the rear and you'd be set

Yeah says GT-Four on sides. I want to get those black. SO they have to be painted? Well I want to keep it but honestly I see what people mean about the wheels. I think wider tires wider wheels would look nice, but I like this look too. I dunno what to do. Because if I get new wheels then I will paint the entire car black.

THank you! That is the kind of response I was looking for! Not "Oh you need wider wheels" but not offer any way or suggestion to remedy this. THANKS! Was really looking for that.
