So I don't know if I'm getting old or something, if 26 is "old"..yea that's probably it..but I'll say it anyway, this is a ****'ed up world, it's sad. And by saying that I'm talking of the elite countries of humanity.

I always keep thinking about the world and it always comes to this..if everybody would shut the **** up and not say anything unless they have something good to say (constructive critic is something else), and respect other people's choice, religion, way of life, physical attribute..We would have a much, much MUCH better world.

We are in a "I'm better than you" world. The internet is spawning and a real nice example of that completely uther disrespect of anything and anybody. Go on youtube and look at the comment section of any popular videos, 80% of the comments left and people dissing and running their mouth. Of course, its easy to talk **** on the internet, probably 50% of those people would not say anything in real life, but that goes to show that those 50% of the people still think this way.

People post picture on the internet, and the first thing you see is "sorry my car is dirty", "sorry these are crappy cell phone pics". I mean WTF!? Do we all think we need to be perfect now? Is that simple act of typing these word a reflection of the society we live in?

All girls comes out of elementary school with self image issues, yes, you all know it, even the "hot ones" have issues. How's that normal?

I keep hearing about bullying, I was suprised after asking around that it is such a big problem, WTF is going on? I never even SAW an act of bullying in my whole life. Is it the new thing that's in?

Kids have sex at age 12, 13 or 14? What the ****!!! I was playing with my f'n legos at 13!

As you grow old you learn or just go through a "I don't give a ****" phase. I used to want the NICEST car around, now I don't care to be invisible in the traffic jam. I wanted the best tires for my car, now I buy the cheapest. I used to be in PS2 vs XBOX discussion or mac vs PC, now I'm why the **** was I arguing over that useless ****.

blah, I needed to say all that.

I'll end up with this

BE NICE TO OTHER PEOPLE! There's NOTHING to GAIN from being an asshole and feeding up your worthless ego by running your mouth an giving a false image of superiority.

Have a nice day.

I believe people are losing their morals. I can go on and on about what things and why? But nobody is going to see it or realize it because they think things are better now. My question is this. "Is the world worse? Or does it just seem worse since we have more people?"

I believe it is getting worse. It is all about making money and trying to better yourself, no matter who the victims are in your path. So while you feed into what the flesh wants, the soul dies little by little.

i agree with everything you just said (not that long of a read either). i'm only 22 and i look at some "kids" today and shake my head in disappointment. who knows what it'll be like 20 years from now. but its not all bad (yet). i still have hope for humanity.

welcome to adulthood, remi. i came to the same realization many years ago.

thumbsdown.gif 52" plasma, matching his/hers anything, perfect lawns, bedroom suites, silverware, china, kids in private schools, PS3/X360, blueray, bluetooth earpieces, brand name appliances

thumbsup.gif the love of a faithful partner, respect from my children, appreciation in the workplace, sharing, teaching, creating, giving thanks

i agree that society has taken a bad turn lately. there is a real sense of no one giving a care anymore. for every good encounter there seems to be 2 bad ones. morality is dictated by mass media. the almighty dollar rules our lives. the important thing, now that you have awakened, is to cherish the beauty of an unselfish act, the serenity of a sunset, the smile on a stranger's face. remember these things when you are being insulted by a bad clerk or waiter, when you read of yet another act of violence committed by someone who is too young to judge their actions or when the rainy days just seem to go on and on forever.

welcome to the rest of your life.

At 13 I was taking the family television set apart to see how it worked.

At 15 - I lost it.

At 35, I can say this: I'm lucky I didn't electrocute myself at 13 (although I have no regrets because I also fixed it - it was broken to start with) and I'm lucky I didn't wind up, well, just a different person for having "lost it" at such a young age. WTF was I thinking? I mean, really? A definite indicator that I was a product of society. Classic bored, stoned, suburban kid. Lame. I hope for better for my own kid(s) if and when I ever have one.

Rayme, I wish I could hug you. Seriously. What you're going through is the initial shock of a newfound adult perspective. The metamorphosis from everything I say and wear and do projects and image that I actually care about and how it's perceived by others to I'm too old for this sh1t. I understand what you're going through. The shock will wear off. Why? Because you'll soon realize that you're too old for that sh1t, too. But for real - don't let it jade you. There are still decent people in the world. They are few and far between, but they're out there, and now you get to have fun figuring out your own special way of weeding through the barrage of crappy people and finding the few gems out there. I can only speak from my own experience, but it's my experience that this is so very true. So if my truth is your truth, I'll end with this: while you're weeding through all the useless crap and stupidity in the world, don't forget what it's like to be young and don't forget that you might have been considered to be among those idiots once, too. This is where you get the hug now and I tell you it's going to be okay.

Didn't read the whole thing, but I read enouph where I see what you're getting at. I agree too, the times are changing and with that, the people. I think some of the changes that happen are definately for the better though, now the ones where people are carring more about what others might think about them, that's stupid imo. That has been an issue forever though, I think it has progressed some troughout the years, but there has always (from my knowlege) been that strive in people to try and be the "ideal ___" whatever you want to put into the blank. Most people are never fully satisfied with what they are/they do/they have ect..
It doesn't help that there is advertisements and such all over the place telling people that "your life could be beter if.."

Why can't we just enjoy what are lives are now?

edit: oh, and legos used to be the best toy around smile.gif

As long as you have a kid in the vicinity, then you're ok. smile.gif

Rayme, welcome to conscientious and mature adulthood. I believe most of us come to that realization eventually. The good thing is that everyday you come to realize something new and put it to good use in today's soceity as best as you can. Unless you're the next Bill Gates or Obama, you may not be able to make a large impact on the world. But as long as you have a good impact in at least one person's life, then you're good to go.

The sad and unfortunate thing is that not everyone will come to that realization, or will choose to ignore it. Those are the people that bring down our society today. But hopefully there will be more people like you than there are of them.

I'm pretty sure I played with Legos the same day as I lost it when I was 13 laugh.gif [And that was 20 years ago so IDK if ages are getting younger or just percentages - I was also not "fast" by any means where I lived [Carmel NY]]

Anybody else notice the correlation between Lego kids and car modifiers? Sweet
Hey Griffy - I used to take apart the family electronics and appliances too. My Mom had a very intelligent view that if it was broken give it to the lego kid - he might very well fix it [And I did about half the time] and what's he gonna do break it more? I had the technic legos tongue.gif

ROFL!! I could totaly see death, at 13 sitting on the carpet builiding up something when some cute chick asks him to "do something" and him saying "Okay, but when we're done, I'm gunna finish building my pirate ship" laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

I'll admit i was 14... But didn't quit playing with lego's till i was 16 (when my mom's made me throw them away frown.gif I had an EPIC stash too... had 15 gallons of legos thumbsup.gif I had to keep them in a lawn bag biggrin.gif ) First grade (the second time) i was busted disassyembing the VCR to figure out how it worked tongue.gif (i'll never forget my mom walking in and saying "What are you doing?" The whole time i'm wondering "Isn't it obvious? Why would you ask that question?") laugh.gif

Hey, there is a pretty good relation to car enthusiasts/lego-lovers/and disasyembling stuff for fun wen you were a kid biggrin.gif thumbsup.gif

Awesome....

BTW: Oh man, I cant wait till my daughter can play with legos... biggrin.gif That'll be a game i can help her with tongue.gif That, and power-wheels thumbsup.gif FTMFW!! (i never had one as a kid frown.gif )

My mom's bought me a go-kart when i was 11 because my best friend had one that we shared. My mom's wanted me to have my own so that i wasn't always impeding on them for their toys. I believe it was bought out of a greensheet or something; but it sure was fun to go on adventures down the bayou... and into that flood retention before all that grass grew in... Used to be dirt and hills. You know witch one i'm talking about; you drive over it on fairbanks heading north after you pass little york. Yeah, back in the day that place was fcuking BOMB!!

BTW: did you ever drive yours in an little neighboorhood and get stopped by the cops? biggrin.gif Mind you my skinny figure was WORSE when i was little, and 10HP frame with my light weight... i could fly laugh.gif

I left out the part about the legos, but yeah - I totally played with legos when I was a kid! Being an only child, they were just about as good entertainment as taking apart various electronics around the house. When I was 10 I built the Empire State Building with them, and a really big cruise ship. My mom never would get me those little kits that were for building specific stuff, so I had to *eek* resort to creativity. Of course now I look at those kits in stores and think they're for unimaginative pussies anyway laugh.gif

I had technic and my Mom couldn't afford to keep up with the fast paced nature of the 80's boys toys [Transformers-GI Joe-Mask-Ninja Turtles etc etc etc.] so I just made my own transformers and w/e out of Legos - mine worked better anyway. biggrin.gif
Plus at my house you got sh*t twice a year - your B-day and Christmas and that's it - period. I had friends who got sh*t almost every time they went with their family to the store laugh.gif We didn't play that sh*t at my house. You asked for a toy at the store and you got the hairbrush across your ass instead tongue.gif

Hundreds of years ago, before "culture" and "civilization" came into play, it was perfectly acceptable for two people of age to have sex and get married. Some cultures (today) still allow children in the teenage years to marry. I believe Arkansas or one of those southern states legally allow marriage/sex between 16 year olds. Is that too taboo? You may say that 16 is more mature than 14, but where is the line being drawn? 16 is just two years younger than 18, and 14 is just to years younger than 16, and so on...

What is the point of humans becoming fertile at the age of 12 if not for the purpose of becoming pregnant? Seriously, think about that. Why do people have arms and fingers, toes and feet, ears, mouths, eyes, etc? All of these serve a purpose. A vagina and penis is no different. If it works, shouldn't it be used?

That being said, there's a gajillion reasons why kids shouldn't have kids...so I'm not even going to make an argument on why teenage sex is bad ('cause everyone should already know).

Oh, one late thing...imagine how Lebron must have been like when he was 14 (or Oden). At 14, both of these guys could have passed as fathers. My point is that age is nothing but a concept/idea like time. I know 28 year old guys who shouldn't legally be allowed to have sex! Rather, in an ideal society, individuals would be judged by their own level of maturity (physical and mental) not on something arbitrary like how long they been alive.

Kids to have kids eh? And who's going to support them? Those kids that have babies, will they work for it? oh wait... no, they go to the government and ask for support. Then the government increases the tax which they get from us! Seriously, I think I'm spending more every year supporting other's kids by paying taxes than by supporting my own daughter.

I did the same thing, and slowly when all of my friends decited they were too big for legos, they'd give em to me, and at one point, I color cordinated all the legos and built 5 or 6 diff vehicles whome all transformed together to make a super-robot. the generations coming up have no respect what so ever for their parents or elders....all because parents are scared to disaplin(sp) there children because kids can now call a number they seen on tv and get their parents in **** for so called child abuse....im a firm believer in physical disaplin but only when needed..........not to the case of abuse....but some times ur child needs a swat to learn...its just how its works...its how our primal mind works...same with a dog..ur not gonna tell ur dog (bad dog!) when it gets unruley or vicious....your gonna swat it and promote physical pain as a reminder to not do that..
the gens coming up were all told "no!" or dont be bad! cause lord forbid in the last decade you hit your child and anyone seen it they would toss you in jail and call you an unfit parent....when really ur child was being an un greatful lil a$$hole and needs a belt across the rear.......when i was growin up until the age of 10 maybe when ever i acted up it was a wooden baking spoon across my a$$ or a belt or latter on down the line when i took a fit and cut my dads belts in pieces and burried my moms cookin ware out side it came turn for my dads foot to connect with my ass......and its made me a better person because of it...think it should still be that way

haha fine fine fine (sorry i dont have kids as u can tell) well if that doesnt work then ill just have to give them what my dad gave me... the clothe hanger and or the bamboo stick ..then ill say son this is for your own good and then take him over my knees. now go to the patties fields(which is the garden in the backyard) and you and those oxens(dogs) plow that field.

ooh yeah those bamboo sticks hurt man..the very thin skinny ones!!!damn those go to the bone and sting at the same damn time man.....just thinking about it kinda hurts....

God I hated the hairbrush across the ass. It was those old school hairbrushes, too, with the millions of thin nylon bristles, none of that fancy nubbed-end sparely populated uber-friendly sh1t you get now.

Maybe that's where the downfall of society is - the hairbrushes changed! We need to return to the olden days of crappy hairbrushes that make your hair frizz out and heavy tooled-leather belts. I know I certainly feared them both.

WOW! really? Most of your posts consists of 5 word sentences, you have nothing but a troll here bringing up nothing good at all for the 6gc community. And you even come and talk about random **** on non-celica topics that people start or expressing deeply your ignorant opinions over and over to the point of being obnoxious.
