I need some information about the egr in our celis, how is ti supposed to work. does she work only in lower revs or not?
If we suppress/disable it, it should give a performane increase in low revs no?

it works by letting exhaust gas back into the manifold, cleaning emissions slightly.

it hampers performance (as any emissions thing does). Only works under low revs/light load i think.

It redirects an amount of exhaust gas into the combustion chamber, lowering the temperatures. It's at high temperature that NOx forms, which is a rather nasty compound. At wide-open throttle EGR is bypassed.

the only side effect of that is now you have to watch engine temperatures and also a clogged EGR with the emissions going into your exhaust directly are going to burn up the cats. So next time you get smogged, you bay out of luck

You say you don't understand how we go dumb, but have you ever been where i'm from?

disabling it does NOT increase performance as it does NOT function during acceleration, only during part throttle cruising or deceleration.
disabling it CAN cause spark knock at part throttle cruising, due to the lack of cooling affect and due to the fact that the PCM is expecting it to be present and functional.

No you don't. It's all in your head because EGR isn't always on and... you'll now fail smog... good job.

Ok so if the EGR valve only works during light loads why does the Cali Spec have different Performance figures than FED spec models?Isn't the EGR valve the Min difference between the two? If not what other differences does the Cali Spec have that the Fed Spec doesn't?

theres also an extra cat converter, different tune in the computer, and iirc slight difference in cam grinds.
