The things I can think of off the top of my head:
rear spoiler riser blocks intercooler water spray hood mounted spoiler (very small, located by the wipers) non-funtional pieces for a turbo anti-lag setup used on the WRC cars (required for homlogation) -------------------- Car #3: 98 Accord LX- purchased 5/06, totaled 8/06
Car #2: 95 Celica GT- purchased 8/03, current daily driver Car #1: 01 Focus ZX3- purchased 5/01, sold 8/03 |

From those pics, that isnt a WRC, no anti lag cannister, there is a bov where it normally sits - yes the als cannister can be removed but the WRC heatshields have a hump in that allows clearance for the als pipe work to go to the manifold - yes again this could have been removed but it means fitting a stock GT4 manifold which is more work than most would bother with.

Yeah doesnt look like a group a. The bulge in the turbo heat shield is the most obvious thing.
Some of the things the wrc/Group A Rallye have extra are: Antilag valve (and associated manifold and pipework) water injection nozzle in the inlet manifold Intercooler spray bar Headlight washers (not on all WRC, but all Group A Rallye) The bonnet spoiler (stops flexing at high speed) Riser blocks (these were available on the poverty pack 205 models later in the range) Extra spot welding on the chassis. Some have an extra brace or two (at the bottom of the back seat for example, but these are rare). Some people speculate the wrc/Group A Rallye are a bit lighter. And I thought all GT-4's were the same...and riser blocks were standard as well.

Oh wow, thanks for the responses...Alrite, so the only real thing that is different with this car is the intercooler sprayer...well thats good enough for me, lol, i mean its still a GT4!! and yea i am def. going to buy it....only a matter of time now...
And for another question, for those who have bought, or own GT4's is there anything i need to look out for..i mean like common problems...that kind of thing... -------------------- (\__/)

ohh and wrc/group a are more rare too, but in general all GT-Fours are rare and all special.
having owned 2 other gtfours. as well as the 205 ive got now i think ill anwser this one. find out when the clutch (edit it says the clutch is new) and fig 8/leading and trailing control arms were last replaced. The suspension wears out at around the 80-100 000km mark in the 205's (thats the price you pay for more precise control and better turn in). Ohh and when the timing belt was last changed. clutch, well its a cock of a job as you need to remove the engine/gearbox from the car to get it out. Other then that its just normal car stuff, blowing smoke, looking under the car for signs of overspray, any clunks, rattles that shouldnt be there, oil leaks (especially around the front and rear main seals and rocker cover gaskets. if it pulls one way or the other under heavy braking, see if the kms match the general condition of the interior, the seats and carpet look in reasonable condition so im assuming its a low enough ammount. Rust shouldnt be an issue on a car such as this, they are generally pretty rust free. pick on all the small things you can to bring the costs down, make a point of any dents, faults, knocks, rattles etc etc. check the colour/condition of coolant and oil, in general all toyotas should run their red long life coolant, oil should be well like oil really, a bit black is ok as turbo cars dump excess carbon into the oil just through normal combustion anyway. hhmm thats about all i can think of, ill add more if i remember anything. Thank you very much sir...thankfully alot of the maintenance will be taken care of by the dealership before it is officially sold to me...as a matter of fact, its what im waiting on now...also, the suspension is TEIN all around (yea lucky!!!), but either way, those items will def. be checked upon tommorow when i take another look at the car. And the fig 8's? Where are they located..im guessing the control arm ends? Anywho, thanks Pilot!!!

yea wow, how did you snap that...looks like you had alittle too much fun one day, lols....but anywho, thanks for the pic, and i can kinda understand why they are called the figure 8's now...anywho, yea the car is over 108,000 kms, so i guess they would need to be looked at...wow, thats alot of helpful info man..What purpose does your gt4's serve for ya...i mean do you usually get some track time out of them or just a DD to have some fun with?
Oh and also, i keep hearing this rumor about being able to swap in 3rd gen 3sge cams for some cheap power upgrades...is there any truth to that...i looked up the cam durations for both engines (3sgte/3sge) and the 3sge are def way more aggressive than the turbo'd version... umm gimme sec.. 3SGE In: 252/9.8 lift Ex: 240/8.2 lift 3SGTE In: 240/8.7 Ex: 236/8.7 I know that considering the work, it would be smarter to purchase some more aggressive aftermarket cams that would actually net more power, but to be honest, i love wrenching, and if this is true then it would be an interesting find..then again, that all falls on if it is true..anywho, im hoping you could shed some light on this...right now they are in my plans to at least try it out and see the results, but am curious as to if there are proven results/experiance on the topic already... -------------------- (\__/)

Snapped it at the drags, launch control (think it was set to 5200 at the time) hot as fnck day, sticky track with much vht down, and shagged shocks (was before the kyb's) plus i believe when i got a dude to replace the cv's shortly after i got it he mixed and matched other celica parts to make one, and clearly wasnt up to the task.
Ive got proper 205 one in there now, and many launches later it still strong as ever. Mine is just an all round bus, i have done all: drags, street, track you know, and will do more of all in time. I dont plan it to be outstanding in one particular area, just generally good in all. I think this is what most people build there car for. yeah the ge cams are more aggressive, and if you can pick them up cheap then do it. ive got hks 264's in mine, they were $900 aud at the time for the pair, that was a a bit of mates rates too. -------------------- ST205 Group A Rallye GT-Four, #61 of 77............600hp GT3582r
