Alright in 2 years from now im looking into getting a GT4, but how well does GT4s work as a daily, for the people that are having GT4s as daily how is it going for you? How much liter per 100km do you guys get? (i know it depends on how you drive, but lets say on average, you punch it abit and treat it like a baby)

Thanks smile.gif

They are like any other sporty car...they drink fuel like mad, but if you dont modify it much then it should be OK...I use mine every single day and it has only ever let me down once a few years ago.

Fuel economy isnt great....on average GT4s get 240 miles from a full tank to the red light starting to come on.

If they have the same 15.9 gallon tank, then that is crap...I get around 400 miles. But good luck with the future GT-4 search.

GT4's are a fine daily driver, the steering is a bit heavier at lower speeds compared to cars ive driven. But when its your car you get used to it and forget about it within a day or two. Fuel efficiency for me with a 3" exhaust was about 8kms/Liter which is 22 miles/gallon so thats 520kms per tank (65 liters) or 349 miles per tank (15.9gallons). Thats with around town driving and very little boost, but that also includes a bit of traffic stoppage time. Without the 3" exhaust i got a bit better milage maybe 9kms/L.

So not THAT much worse than a 3sge then...I get around 11km/L from my 3sge. 620kms or so on the 55L tank...guess the gt4 has a bigger tank.

lol if you fill up like 50 litres to go 620km that is like around 8 litres per 100km.

In NZ I used my GT-FOUR as a daily as well as a track car for 24 months, over that time it when from stock to where it is now - fully rebuilt, forged, but still on the standard turbo. The key for me was the ECU - once I had that fitted and fully tuned with multiple fuel maps, I was able to keep the economy at "acceptable" levels even after I have had the Internals done etc, but with the flick of 2 switches had the power there to have fun when I wanted.

In Australia I am driving a Skyline R34 GT-T and it seems to be considerably more thirsty than the Celica was, but maybe that is because of my driving style.

Reliability? I had a number of issues, but that was mainly due to poor selection up front - mine was a fresh import and not a very good one. Once I invested some money into getting the initial things sorted it has been plain sailing since then. I highly recommend it!

Good luck.

the GT-Four's fuel tank is 68 liters.
A USDM Celica's tank is 60 liters.
