so i bought an elec. oil gauge(psi) today and i wired it up and its not reading anything.
I connected it to the battery + to +, - to -, and the sending unit to the s.u. connector and got nothing.
When connected to the battery it does nothing but once i connect it to the sending unit it reads 0, then i start the car and nothing happens it doesnt go up or down, Ive used a faze, sunpro, and autometer and nothing has worked.
If someone can help it would me much appreciated.
Thanks

what brand gauge? The sending unit should have 2 terminals. One to ground and one to the gauge. The gauge itself should be wired to 12v power and one to ground. Now the other wires is for either changing lights when you turn on your headlights or for other things.

and the sending unit to the s.u. connector

thats your problem.

the stock sensor isnt a "sensor" its a switch, that flips at less than ~5psi of oil pressure.

you need to unscrew the stock oil pressure switch from the head (GT) or block (ST) and your gauge should have come with a sender. you will need to buy an adapter like this one from tuner toys.com
http://www.tunertoys.com/TunerToys_Oil_Tak...let_p/otodk.htm and with it you can install the aftermarket sender for the electric gauge, and your stock pressure switch so the light on the dash will still work if you loose oil pressure.

are you sure you have the correct wires grounded and ones to the proper 12v power?
