Hey Congrats! The only thing I have ever won was this unique hat called a Dunce Cap. The teacher said if I wear it and stare at the wall, I might be able to see my future. But I never did. frown.gif

its a 6.5 HP tecumseh, that will e replaced down the road, i need to start it for now, but the kart has not started in 2 years. The carburator has gunk, all over inside. Im rebuilding it. if not ill order a new one.

I am learning small engine repair. Which is cool. This kart will be painted a different color. Havent decided yet. Ill post pics of the inside of the engine later, but im happy with this baby. Top speed is 25 mph they say.

BTW i knew i had to repair.

whats sad is that carb is about the size of carb i had on my ford falcon (62) it was a little one barrel holley

im assuming about the clutch cuz my buddy has this little kart called a thunder kart and its about the same as that except its white its a little 5hp engine.
the governator (thats what they called it when they showed me) controls the fuel flow when you press the pedal...only prob is after he did it, it ran fine for like 3 months then it would die when you took your foot off the gas, it ran like a bat out of hell for those 3 months though

At least your carabarator is clean in my dad's generator the inside actually rusted out and had to be replaced. If the engine is high quality it will probably start right up. Make sure the plug(s) are good as well.

to be done:

RHD conversion
rear discs
HID projectors
Enkei EVO-5 18s
rear duckbill spoiler
C20 turbo w/Synchronic BOV
replace headunit
2x1000W bridged mono block amps into 20" subs

OH, crap! That's the to-do list for my Celica...hahahahahahahahahaha

Seriously, very nice work. Looks like you are taking this project seriously and learning from it. Nothing like resurrecting a neglected piece of equipment.

now im lapping the valves and cleaning for Moar compression...

Victory. These little engines are not hard to work on. Yes i had a little trouble like a sheared key, intermittent spark, and plugged idle passages, low compression. But Here it is. A lot of cuzz words.

Restored Tecumseh Power Sports 6.0 HP in Saphire Blue Metallic and Ford Red. Needs a little tuning...

Yea duh, i have worked on the seats and other stuff, but have not taken any pics.....

I will be riding it in a week or so. Painting of the frame starts in 1 month....

hmm pretty sweet, reminds me of my first go kart did +70km/h with a 5HP B&S engine with a big carb and a torque convertor,

now the one im about to start working on again has a 21HP kawasaki 440cc engine (6speed) with independent suspension should be lots of fun biggrin.gif

Is that a new Camry I see? Looks like you have good taste in cars. I have a 6th gen and a 2009 Camry sitting in my garage too biggrin.gif

The go-kart is coming along great! I'm loving this thread. Can't wait to see the finished product.

I only buy toyota black cars..... my next is either highlander or venza.

Right now i was able to ride the cart, but the engine is puffing smoke, unless i figure it out , i am ready to buy a clone engine and call it a day. parts are expensive, but a new engine 99 bucks....

but its fun to ride!!!!!!!

Yeah I figured, aren't you ridiculously tall? I guess I can't really judge the length of the kart in the pictures, that's why it looks disproportionate.
