Looks clean, I've been looking at some of these 300's/400's recently down here.

The only thing is the price is kinda high to me, isn't the USD almost equal to the CAD right now? or is that a fair asking price.

And its automatic... kindasad.gif they're hard to find in stick.

CDN$=0.80US$ right now so 8800US$...not bad since car prices here are slightly high due to availability and transportation costs. these people specialize in imported US cars. it probably came from FLA or CALI. AUTO was on 80% plus of these models and STD are expensive if you can find them and VERY EXPENSIVE to maintain and service.

I think that is way to much for that. yea its a V8 but it was almost 200k miles. 8800 is alot of money for a stock 95 you can find better cheaper.

O just saw its in km not miles. that kind of changes things since idk how many miles it has.

You can probly find a better deal somewhere else. I've been looking at these (going back and forth between the 300, 400 and mr-2) and I've seen some as low as 5-6000.

somewhere else might be on another planet for what it's worth. not much to choose from around here. seems like the world ends at Montreal or Boston. the Atlantic Provinces are just a useless appendage to the North American continent.

Yeah, there are many SC400 selling for <$5000 with lower mileage here in the Bay Area. And do you really want the automatic V8 instead of the manual I6?

Foo, you can get one of those with less miles for $3.5k. I have seen them on Autotrader. The body styles appear to be all the same from 92-98 or whatever.

yeah man, i was looking at this car when i first started. one thing i can tell u is sc400's only come auto, unless u plan to do a 5spd swap later urself.
what ur paying is too much, believe me. i say luxury car with good power, but bad gas mileage.
ur choice, if u plan to mod id say go VIP style with 2jz swap

I found my friend a 1992 sc300 for $2000. It had 16x,xxx miles on it and was in decent shape. You can find them for around $3-4k. I honestly would rather have a 300 since they have a 2jz. HP numbers arent much different, gas mileage is better for the 300, and quarter mile times are very close to the same.

Other than that, there is more aftermarket for the 300 since like I said it has a 2j.

It is your call though, and that one does look clean, I just couldnt see myself spending that kind of money on that car..

I'd say shop around for a better price.

Over here there is one for sale for $4000 obo, clean title, clean interior/exterior and the only thing the guy did was chrome the wheels. I'm thinkin of gettin it myself. And majority are automatic, a bummer, but a swap is just more fun for ya =)

Good luck man.

1UZFE? Pass. Replacing the starter alone is a $1000 job that takes about 2 days for a noobie-average mechanic and about 8 hours for a master mech. It lies in the heart of the motor underneathe the intake manifold.

Get an SC300 with the W58 tranny instead if you can find one. You won't find the V8 1UZ in a standard at all. The SC300 will make it easier to do a 1JZ or a 2JZ-GTE swap down the road or you can just go NA-T if you wanna go that route instead.

Its expensive for being 14 years old with 200 000 KM. My opinion : Buy it only if you REALLY want it, don't think it's a deal smile.gif

If you're set on the SC400 then I'd hold off, that's expensive. I bought my SC300 for $3200 American with about the same miles.

And for performance, the SC400 is ONLY automatic, but if you get the SC300 with a 5-speed (good luck finding 1) they will outrun the SC400.

On the other hand, with proper mods the SC400 v8 sounds like a monster with ITB's. ITB's on 1UZ

thanks to all who replied. i was only toying with the idea but now i have abandoned it. seems there are quite a few pitfalls in owning one of these, the least being expen$ive upkeep. guess i'll just put a few more bucks into the ol' celipig and run it into the ground.

peace to all

Pardon my French but "CHRISTALLMIGHTY!!!!!!!!! I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! between me holing-up for the winter and you lurking in the shadows it's like a reunion.

how the hell are you? BTW it's my thread so i'll jack it if i want to!! you know, i never think of the montreal market. if i really want a retirement vehicle i'll have to cruise up that way. r u seriously selling the celi? all that work! hope you are well and things are just peachy.

the ol' CeliPig is rusting out but i need to keep it on the road for a few more years. any chance of you looking up your old contacts and sourcing me out a couple of doors. i had a name in TO that i bought my fender from but old age catching up to me and poor filing skill, i lost it. been searching the web forever it seems and all i find are US resellers and warehouses.

keep your stick on the ice
