This might be an easier option than painting our calipers. You could always paint these to your specs without messing with your calipers.

The more serious problem is that they look ass! wink.gif

They look like what they are.... Cheap plastic covers. Nobody will believe they are real with the tiny standard disk behind it.

Is that the the GT4 calipers? Did the brake disc have to be re-drill to fit?

ST205 caliper, custom rotor.

full specs will be given out once they are tested and found to be working properly. I don't want anyone trying this out until I'm certain it'll work and be safe.

Nice job! If it works, I can finally put to use the set of brake discs that I have that I've been waiting to redrill. I wasn't sure if it would work, but since you're the pioneer.... smile.gif I await in anticipation!

the rotor that most likely will work has to be re drill with 5 x 100 bolt pattern and trim down in diameter, the one you're talking about is the IS300 rotor which we re-drill just to get measurements, but the IS rotor is not even close to fitting. the advantage of using this rotors ( I'll give the FULL specs once tested ) is that it will be available anywhere in US, and we won't have to be importing expensive ST205 rotors from elsewhere, the other advantage is that with ST205 rotor / caliper combo on our cars, the caliper bracket has to be modify ( ~ 6 mm remove ), this weakens the bracket, not by much but it does makes it weaker. with these rotors I'm working on you don't have to, so don't need to grind away from the caliper bracket, instead, in one of the cases ( I'm testing with more than one rotor ) spacers ( washers ) has to be added to make the rotor fall dead center on the caliper.

When I'm done with this, the ST205 brake conversion will be something easy to achieve, with affordable parts ready available in US ( except for the calipers themselves )

I'm also planning on using my Iphone app dynolicius to measure the G force when stopping from 60 to 0 with my regular brakes and then with ST205 brakes, just so we can see the difference ( If any ) on the stopping power.

again, no specs will be given out until I drive with them for at least a week from and to work, I have to make sure the rotors don't touch the ball joints and that the caliper don't fly away while driving laugh.gif

but as soon as funds permit, I'll get the rest of the parts needed to finish this and make a DETAILED post with step by step pictures of the installation, full specs of the rotors, modification involved, tools needed, and anything else that you will need to know about this conversion.
