Man it feels good to be back on these forums, I've been having sooo much trouble with my account over the last 6 months its crazy, and i just realized last week that my email was missing an "i"..i kicked myself, changed the email and i'm back now. And just wanted to let you guys know who i am and re-announce my self..since i'm kinda a newbie again.

My car has been sitting for a year and a half with no engine. I have no money for a turbo (GT35R or GT3071R), and i'm probably going to rip into the engine to inspect everything internally before i drop her in. It's a fully built Gen III 3sgte, head has 10k miles, block has 50k miles, TRD clutch, Fidanza fly, Arp fly studs, head studs, and main studs, cylinder .20 overbore, JN pistons, Eagle rods, HKS 272 degree cams w/ 10mm lift, HKS adjustable cam gears, Sard 850 cc injectors, WolfKatz aluminum fuel rail, Walbro 255 lph fuel rail, custom fit S15 aftermarket intercooler, 05 R6 coil-over-plugs, and it's all run by an Autronic SM4 and AEM C2DI. Technically it's N/A right now, even though it's built for a turbo, i have no turbo components. My ems has a built in boost controller, still need a turbo timer, BOV, wastegate, turbo, and manifold. I'll get the mani with the turbo so i can get the ones that mate up with each other.

Anyway, just thought i would announce my presence, i'm a mechanic too, by trade (not by hobby), been to tuning school. So if you guys got any questions...hopefully i won't be too busy.

crap guys..sry i never replied..(thanks john for posting up some pics) I posted this and thought no one replied..I never checked the checkbox to have 6gc email me when I get a reply, I was just going to bump it up because I'm opening up the engine tomorrow after it's been sitting for 2 years to see if everything is still good and there's no surface rust on the cyl walls, then i noticed that people actually replied..lol..so here's some pics of the Gen III and my car..i've moved now (still on island) and the engine is sealed up underneath my friends house for now, these are some pics at my old place where john took the pics above.

Yeah, I have one, I put a kitchen chair in the engine bay and sat for a picture, that usually gets laughs from people that see it, but that was before my goatee days, so I don't show it anymore.

Crash bar? you mean bumper reinforcement? I took it out, I might still have it around somewhere unless I threw it away when I moved. It really serves no purpose but to reinforce the bumper, its a lightweight aluminum alloy that crushes easily, if it really is called a crash bar I can't see why they would call it that. Why do you ask?

Looks like he got rid of it/modded it so the intercooler (looks like an intercooler? I'm a complete mechanical noob) would fit.

HA HA HA..(sarcastic laugh)..lol..j/k. If that thing really is called a "crash bar" someone please explain why..it seems like it's designed to take lessen the force of an impact by crushing if you hit a pole or something. Whatever it was supposed to be used for, I don't care, it's gone now smile.gif. I've been trying to find pictures of the I/C mount that's on there now, me and my friend made it one evening. Once I find pics I'll share it with you guys. I'd say it's there for bumper reinforcement more than anything else, there used to be styrofoam around it that was the shape of the bumper, that's gone now too.

Off the top of my head, I think it was about $800 for the stripped block, $900 for the head, $3000 for all of the internals, injectors, fuel rail, pump and all of that, $1000 for the block to be bored, hot tanked and decked, and $2400 for the ecu. I'm using all of my stock 5sfe accessories, pulley, mounts, sensors, and whatever else. I just need about $2000 more for the turbo, BOV, and wastegate frown.gif..and I don't have it. Then I can tune it, I have a program to run on my laptop to tune it on the street, it logs the data so I can just find an empty street and go up and down it a few times. The main thing I need is the money for the turbo components.

Yeah it has been a year..sigh..I haven't had the extra money in a year, I can sell my bike and I'll have the money to buy the stuff, but I really don't want to do that. I should start selling my furniture or something..lol..then I might be able to buy a BOV and a wastegate! I need to start asking for donations or something.
