Vincent has been kind enough to share a new gift with us. One of the newest being his new seat covers. I opted for Blue stitching and hopefully you can see that in the pictures (sorry they were taken quickly and aren't the greatest). I'll be taking much more detailed pics of how to take apart the old seats and replace the old upholstery with the new! Being that I didn't really have a clue what I was doing with the first seat I just went at it and didn't take any pictures of the dismantle or anything of the sort.. And I'm sure the drivers seat is the most PITA. On the the pics

I'll edit this over the next few days and post new pics and hopefully get a how to done on this!

BTW Great work on stitching. I was worried before I actually had these in my possession about durability but now that I've sat in them and witnessed them, these are DEFINITELY worth the money, Great looking upgrade to the interior!

Update:
Tools used:
Needle Nose pliers
Utility Knife
12mm Ratchet
10mm or 9mm Ratchet

NOTE: DO NOT JUST YANK ON THE STAPLES! There are 2 metal bars that you use to secure the seat covers down. 1 set is inside the seat covers, you will remove and put in the new ones, the other set is INSIDE the foam of your seats, if you just yank on the staples you WILL pull that metal bar out and you WON'T have anything to hold you seat covers down all nice and snug!

Now for actually getting it done:

First things first take the seats out of your car, I believe it took a 12mm wrench
After the seats are out on the bottom of the seats there are 4 screws that need to be removed to take apart the cushion that you would sit on. Makes it a bit easier. The drivers side is a PITA do to the spin knob on the side to adjust how the seat sits. Unless you don't have one then it makes things easier:

Once you have the seats apart time to pull out the pliers.. I used 2 sets, 1 pair to hold one side of the staple and another set to pull it apart.

Once the metal brackets are out and the rubber sleeves you will put them into the new seat covers, and the staples need to go through the fabric loop around both bars and then pinched tight:

Now that that is done you end up with this:

I did use a heat gun once it was all done to help smooth out the material some. But you can prolly use a blow dryer or something along those lines, blow dryer would prolly be better but prolly take a little longer than the heat gun.

If you have any questions about this feel free to PM me. I'm hear to help.

B.

That looks absolutely amazing. What is the material?

And did you do the rears as well or just the fronts?

Blue: Yeah Vince will soon have these available from the talks that he and I have had!

Griff: I'm not sure the exact material, it's not a real leather cuz the weight of real leather would end up costing a TON for shipment do to the weight factor.. They are however from what I have seen and felt seem to me to be very durable. I mean of course if you stuck a knife to it, it will tear but they should last for a long time. VERY AFFORDABLE BTW. And its the entire set!!! Front driver and passenger and rears!

Like I said above my plan is to get the rest of the seats done in the next few days and I'll make sure to have lots of pics.

It will come as a full set unless vincent decides to split em up, and they should be available for the coupes eventually too I THINK. I'll talk to him and find out for sure and update at the top tomorrow hopefully

being that the 94-95 and the 96-99 seats are different, are these interchangable between the 2 ?

Bat, u are right, JDM have same issue too, JDM 94-95 the rear seat have a wooden piece or cardboard like thing, 96+ don't have that.

SO, the supplier would provide a Black cloth to cover that spot for 96+

If Bseaman could install without issue, thats mean no issue between LHD and RHD

Then I would ask for consent for a GB for this

Looks nice, but my only gripe is that the upper bolster stitching doesn't line up with the side bolster stitching.

Not to worry, the price I've heard is going to be very reasonable.
Think better price than eBay, shipping is fast as hell and you know you're buying quality goods from a valued member.

Alright people, I apologize for the wait, I've been sick as a dog.. Seat covers are done and goodness are they wonderful! I have lots of pics to do a write up, but for the most part its pretty self explanatory.. Very time consuming, or maybe I'm just dumb ha ha ha! I'll be formatting the pictures to get em posted up here hopefully later tonight or tomorrow.

hog rings can be difficult in certain areas. You can also use heavy duty zip ties. Did you guys use a heat gun to help stretch out wrinkles? Seat covers are very easy to install if you take your time!

kinda bringing this thread back.
im in the process of finishing vi-tuyen's re-upholstering job with these seat covers. but wondering if anyone else has installed the covers on the Fabric style foam?

they fit pretty loose over the fabric style foams, and to get the new covers to fill out, i would have to add foam to it. has anyone else given this a shot?

problem is it turns out kind of "lumpy" with the added foam. just wondering if any one else has actually gotten it to look normal with the fabric style foam.

its easy, the front seat is 4 bolts and an electrical connector underneath. for the rear, fold down the seats. 2 bolts connect the seat back to the hinge. dont remove the hinges from the chassis or else it will be hard to line them up again. for the rear seat bottom, in the center front of each seat is hook. firmly pull up and it will come out.

Whew. There for a second, I was thinking you left the leather covers on your seats. Well, in that case, I am wondering how much the blow dryer will shrink the covers as well. Can't wait to see the pics.

I got a set of the front covers for a 94 Celica GT Coupe with tan leather seats. They are the right shape, but the seats/brackets are totally different than the ones shown in this thread. Therefore, the installation is very different, much more difficult because there is no 'cord' system among other things like the seat disassembly is more complex. I got the front passenger seat disassembled and the cover test fitted, but threw in the towel on these after dealing with the lack of 'cord' system and other things. I am now looking for a set of used seats instead or just going to finally upgrade to racing seats for this car. Just wanted to warn those interested in trying this on a 94 Celica GT Coupe with tan leather seats and any other models with the same seats.

I am looking for a drivers seat, I have custom covers, but they aren't looking so great right now. If you have a drivers seat or assist me with a drivers seat then I will purchase a cover kit from you all together. I will probably get the covers eventually when I get the drivers seat. I can't find a seat for a long time now.

Not nearly as much as he used to, no. You may have better luck contacting him on Facebook. His name is Vincent Ma, if you want to try to get in contact with him on the 6gc group.

If you can't get a hold of him I found a site that does 6gc/7gc seats you pick the material and the color from the selection. It is more pricey but you have a better selection. http://www.gtcovers.com/seat-covers/toyota...eat-covers.html
