I was gonna pull the head off today and change my gasket and one of the bolts is stripped.
its a 12 point star type bolt. I was using a 10mm allen socket which was working fine. However, when i got to one of the bolts, it was already stripped, like whoever took the engine apart before had stripped it. Any Ideas? thanks for any help.... project is now at a stand still. ![]() This post has been edited by eggman40: Apr 10, 2009 - 6:19 PM |

Quick UPDATE: I looked at theBGB and it turns out that the "special tool" SST 09043-38100 to remove the cylinder bolts is acutally an Allen tip socket or as they call it Hexagon 10mm Wrench... I ended up using my 10mm allen socket and a t55 torx to remove the already stripped bolt. Hope this info helps somebody. This post has been edited by eggman40: Apr 10, 2009 - 7:34 PM |
