Ok I still dont under stand everything about a ems. 1st of all its a 2nd gen 3sgte ina gt. Well I want a bigger turbo and injectors an made a post for info on it and everyone says I need somthing to control the air fuel ect meaning a ems. So I wanted a safc2 since it was cheap and was told its not what I need and It messes with timeing and other things. So I was told get a ems. These are the 3 choices I have ats rom tuned with a ct27, some type of full stand alone<very expensive> and a piggy back. The piggy back I am looking at is the greddy emanage which is $400 and a emanage ultimate which is $650 and seems to have a lot of things it can do. But is a emanage piggyback going to do the same a the safc would do and mess with my timing and not do what I need it to do with a bigger turbo and injectors? Can I control one of those ems turbo kits for 1800 with a emanage setup? Cause I dont think a ct27 is enough for what I want

i have researched this for hours upon hours for a 2nd gen... DO NOT get a greddy... i could start to list the issues with it but i already have a post about it as well... look over on mr2oc.com... search for greddy e-manage and you can begin to see why... it is not made for a 2nd gen... it cannot control ignition... greddy is going bankrupt... ZERO tech support... blah blah blah... the greddy is made for the 3rd gen 3sgte... different style ignition... ats rom tuned is GREAT as long as you use the setup they have it tuned for... DO NOT think that oh its close enough to my setup, it will be ok... it will not be ok... oh... and the $1800 EMS turbo kits are direct bolt on.. they will work with stock injectors and fuel pump... tuning is not needed

pittfirefighter is right on with recommending AEM. I can get you set up with an AEM FI/C which is a great full-function piggyback (includes a MAP sensor, no gimmicks here) for $397.80, or a full standalone AEM EMS plug and play for $1715.27.

Well at 1st I fugured 300hp with the ats ct27/romtune but I ran a 14.3 with a ct26 and dp an exhaust. So I am not sure how much power I want but want to run low 13's high 12's if possible. So I guess I need 375-400 hp and I am not sure what the engine will take stock. But the engine came with low miles and I can tell its in great shape and I keep it maintained.

Any turbo I choose? |

Second question.... How much money do you have to spend? Well I am tyring to spend as less as I can. I talked to the dr. on the phone ans he says the aem piggy back will work for me. As far as money if I can get this aem piggy back for 400ish I can definetly get one of those ems turbo kits. And some injectors. I read up alittle on the aems piggyback and it has a feature that adjusts the timing unlike the safc. I have around 2500 to spend. Right now I am waiting on my new struts and strut bar to put more power to the ground because I had that issue also. But I dont know what ems kit is right for me to make 400hp |

you are going to need major engine upgrades to get in the 12's Well I ran 14.3 with terrible wheel hop for about 60-80 ft so I know when I get the new struts and the traction issue fixed it already a mid 13 second car. I ran the 14.3 on stock boost 12-13lbs. So when I get a new turbo and can run 18+ lbs I cant imagine how much faster it will be |

If you want to get any ecu, the only advice I have for you is to do your own research and talk to other people who have that unit installed on their car.
As great as any ecu is, your car wont make any power if you dont know how to use it, or cant pay someone who does. You'll have a much harder time getting into 12s then a rwd or awd car, that you probably can beat on the street. -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

Well the good thing about the aem fic is I have a local shop called corr performance and they specialize in aem tuning and they have a dyno. Just talked to the owner and he says it will be 400 to tune and dyno the car. If I get this aem fic I will install it myself, with a few pointers from a few people

So the ems turbo kit is bolt on an no tuning is needed? Even if its more hp on the ecu and fuel system? |
