Delaware Water Gap (DWG) Meet July 11-12 (Saturday threw Sunday)

Hey everybody, its time we got the annual DWG meet going. We will be doing this a bit different tho this year. A few of us are looking into reserving a camp site and crashing there. This is where the actual meet and great will take place on Saturday. We will be hanging out, playing football, barbecuing, and for those that want to camp out....we will spending the night there at the camp site.

If camping out isnt for you, then NP.....We will still be hanging out at the camp grounds talking, taking pictures, playing games, and barbecuing.....but feel free to reserve a room for the night at the nearest hotel/motel. (I will post a link to the nearest hotel/motel when we finalize the camp grounds a bit more.

As for Sunday, we will be heading over to Island Dragway. This is the local race track where we can really let the cars play a bit

Its a great time at Island dragway. Dont feel you need to have a 12sec car to race....its not about that. Its just a fun and exciting thing to do, so please dont be shy. If you dont feel like racing that day, thats cool to. There are grand stands and a place to eat, so feel free to just sit back and relax and watch the races.

We need to get a rough estimate of how many people are going to camp at DWG, so we know the size of the lot we need reserve. If you are coming and want to camp out please state so. If you are coming but will be reserving a room at a motel/hotel please state so also....WILL BE A GREAT TIME

Ok, so I just got off the phone with the camp ground we will be staying at. This is the camp grounds:

This should be a fun time. We are going to have a large "field" in the camp grounds where we will all be able to hang out and sleep. You will need to bring you own tents.

As for events, there is fishing, pool tables, basketball, volley ball, swimming pools, etc. Alcohol is permitted on these grounds, so no worries there.......we covered that already LOLOL.

It should be a great time, but please reconfirm if you are going and what day/days as I need to reserve this area with an "accurate" number of people going. It is 10$ a person, per night.

Manny I know that Jim and stevenson wanna camp at dwg we will have to take a drive to w/e campground we will use to see what is the best place for pictures etc or see how far the camp ground is from where we took pictures the last time. I think jim was looking for an idea for how many ppl he was going to tell the campground we needed spots for. I think for now I am going to have him call the camp grounds and say it will be around 15 spots just to get an idea.

Jason the one camp ground I looked at said alcohol free....I will take a better look but I think Jim won't wanna stay there lol

I don't think any of the camp grounds will allow for a REAL 6gc party, but if we are enoguh people to cover one whole section, I'm sure we can get away with some early party not so load lol, plus, the typical hamburgers, and hot dogs on the fire, that was fun last time.

Like the tittle says, you DONT have to bring a Celica. Bring any car you car that can/will get you there. And again, since this is not a Celica specific meet, you are encouraged to bring friends. Like Stevenson said, pics and final info this sunday.

Nice I'm glad you guys are keeping the DWG dream alive despite my lazy ass.

I'll try to swing by with the IS300 for one of the days. Celica hasn't been touched in a long time, so its not drivable right now to bring to the meet.


PS- Just to let you guys know, Old Mine Road that we normally cruise at that event is a total disaster right now....like surface of the moon bad. Its full of HORRIBLE potholes, I watched an SUV with a family in it blow out a tire on a section of that road the other day. This is probably due to state budget cuts in the parks, but they just warn you with a little construction sign at the road entrance that the road is "unmaintained ahead". lol.

Alcohol is prohibited. Pets are prohibited in overnight facilities.

Campsites: 69 tent and trailer sites with picnic tables and fire rings. Open April 1 through December 31. Campsites 1-77 have modern toilets and showers. $20 per night.

Group campsites: Three group sites; capacity: 35 each. Picnic tables, fire rings, modern toilets. Open April 1 through December 31. $35.00 per night.


Prices are US$20.00 per site, 6 campers per site max allowed.

so far we have 10 people needing tents, so I'm gonna reserve 5 sites ?
2 tents per site. so each tent will have to pay US$10.00

I need to know of any extra sites needed before I reserved as I'm not planning to reserved more than needed, then we'd have to pay for those sites too.


any last minute show ups will still have space to open a tent as sites can take ~ 4 tents and we are allowed 6 people per site, so we do have extra space for more poeple if there were to be any.

Ok so here is the thing even if you are going for the day you will need to spend the $10 I no it sucks but the lady said thats the rule and you get access to the pool the rec center the lake (fishing tournament) and w/e else.

Also is there anyone who would wanna race on sunday bc I can not since i need a clutch and Jim can not since his car doesnt have and engine in it. If there is no interest in the track we can also do something else...I no that there is suppose to be a nice car show at the meadowland's fair we can enter the show but we would have to do it now and get there early or we can just go and check it out...Just some ideas idk.

I am really excited for the meet and I hope we can get a decent amount of cars there for some nice pictures! I will also have to intruduce you to a lot of my friends since they are excited to be camping with us!

Ok so I think it will be best if everyone brings some food and w/e for themself its kinda hard to figure out what we would need and stuff. If this is a problem show me a pm with what u need and u can throw me money later. We have a charcoal grill and a stove and there is at least one firepit so I think we should be ok. Does anyone have any better ideas for arrange the food and stuff?

As for beer we pretty much have that under control but if for some reason you don't like beer or want something else i would bring it.
