I have a rattle in the top of my engine, wanting some ideas of what it could be

It's there all the time, I can hear it more when I put my foot on the gas. It's really loud when the car is cold and isn't as noticable after driving for a while.

It could be my imagination but it seems worse with cheaper fuel (I usually run 98 RON PULP)

I thought that it could be timing issues, but my dad said that it sounded like valve/rocker clearances

It's going in for the 100,000 km service next week, it's a major one so they have to change the timing belt and tensioner spring.

Any Ideas?

It could be. It may be a lack of oil or oil pressure. If you can, give some more details

If you have an intake with a heat shield then that is it. Just move it up.
